@JesterUK2 Since Voldemort thought Snape was the true master of the elder wand, he figured he couldn't kill him with it. In the book he knew what would happen if he tried to use the wand on him and didn't want to take the chance. It's not as clear in the movie, you just have to assume he knew.

@codfan11000 Because Voldemort wanted total possesion over the Elder Wand, which Snape had. However Voldemort wasn't aware that Dumbledore was disarmed by Draco first and then disarmed by Harry later on...so, in a way Snape's death was really meaningless.

@rika1000thorns I don't think he ever liked Harry, until the moment Snape actually died and said "you have your mother's eyes". It's left out in the movie, but in the book, when Dumbledore asks him if he "cared for the boy", he shouts: "For him?" and then summons the silver doe. So he protected Harry for Lily, but not because he cared for him; Only when Snape died, he realised that there was a part of Lily that lived on in Harry. That's my opinion anyway.
