I think that the old regenerations were much more emotional than the new ones, because you are sad that your doctor is going and lying down seems alot saddder than standing up with fire coming out of your hands and neck.

I watch these videos with added soundtrack from the new series and most of the time they can add depth and emotion to the scene.
