fuel, time, miles, and how common.. i take that all in and go from there. Got an Older Rare RV for $500, but to tow it was $200 more, so $700 lighter i was still under the $1000 he asked for.
very good selling points in this video. Its not worth restoring, but just on the value of silver alone, that is a great piece to come across. For $25.00 you can't beat that! Nice find!
@collectorhistory Comments never upset me as long as the writer sticks to the facts such as yourself. You make a good point that many pickers do not take into account. There are costs other than just what's paid for an item. I don't consider my time a cost - I do this as more of a hobby. I love the thrill of the hunt. I can't remember exactly what I sold this piece for (over $60)but silver was over $40 at the time. I never travel far when checking out listings. My gas cost was under $5. Will
Here is a good ? about silver coins. Should you buy .999 coins and pay huge premiums, commissions and taxes. Or should you buy .925 coins, and only pay a commission. I did the math, and I find that although .999 is more valuable obviously, buying .925 seems a better investment and you would keep more money. Any comments or questions?
he left you some profit. Especially when he got it for free.
I just got a box full of things like that for 5.00 at an auction.
In my favor people do not like the way those pieces look and really do not think they are worth much. So I am usually the only one buying them where I go.
@5redbird If I were to sell it, I would list it on Ebay as scrap sterling silver bullion. There are refineries that buy scrap silver and gold and pay well. From my experience, scrap sells for just as much if not more on Ebay and it is easier. Will
@TVAExtreme It usually says "weighted" on the base where it is marked "Sterling" also. I never buy silver plate. Some silver plate can be worth money if you know what the pattern is called. Will

How can you tell something is weighted or not?
Almost all of such pieces here are just plated anyway though, so i usually skip them.
