Quartzsite is dying. People say its crappy way the politics are run there makes it not worth attending anything they just make it miserable. Prices are up services are down its a pig sty. What happened?
I was there in 2007, and they were saying the party was over then. I had a pretty good time there, but I won't be back. Gas stations away from the big cities like to rob you on gas, and we ran into a lot of vendors who were extremely bitter because they thought they were going to get rich down there. Jobs were a joke, too. I was offered $5/hr to work at the gas station! Beatiful landscape, though, especially at night.
Do you think the price of fuel has stopped alot of RVers taking there RV's out.
I use to be on the road with my RV any chance I could get but now the price of diesel here in Australia has ment that my RV mainly sits in my driveway.
For the record, fuel is worth in the cities around $1.30 per liter ($4.95 per US gallon) and over $2.00 per liter ($7.60 per US gallon) in some outback towns.
What's the draw to parking out in a barren desert all day?

Nothing like melodrama... "Might be a thing of the past?"... After 1 bad year? Geez.

@c1nikon This was recorded a year ago. If you were just there, well, that's a year later. Apples and oranges.

Yep, oil IS running out = higher prices - simple
Countries that depend on OIL have the most to loose........
The OIL 'era' is nearly over. we are using globally about 100,000,000 barrels a DAY !.
All ends up as mainly HEAT AND CO2.........
