Steve Perry is the man. But Aguirre's voice not as good as Arnel because he lacks soul. That little something extra Aguirre doesn't have it but Arnel Pineda does. Perry's legacy will always be Journey.
Arnel can manage the difficult vocals like Steve Perry did in the 80's. But Steve has retired and hasn't got the health to do it - that's why they can go on spreadin' the great Journey music. It's great that Journeys music lives on...

It serves two purposes: (1) It changes it up because the band gets tired of playing the same song the same way every night for decades, and (2) it throws a little variety into the mix for the audience. Yes, it's true that for some people it may not be that well received, but most of us don't mind it. ;)
Yeah, the Pinoy sometimes get a little over stated with saying Arnel is BETTER than Steve. That isn't the case. Two separate people......Steve was a legend and Arnel is great. Treat them both separately. Wonderful to watch this video. It was a pure treat.
@mrarieschief I don't know about all that, but Arnel has done an amazing job filling some very tough shoes to fill. I don't think they could have done much better than Arnel.
