not true i know poeple who can play better and louder than all of them put together that now go to famu who use to go to ely so please stop trying to cover for the swack
Look up 'Tuba players at their best' that's probably the song he's referring to. It's also known as Sonic Boom. I would love to hear you guys play that. IMHO Horsepower is the best section I've heard in all my youtube searches. You guys are great.
i love playing this loud, but our director gets onto us, the only time we can play loud is on espn, and that gets old, i wish i could get half my section to sound like yall
Yes, it has been awhile but yes they do. Their version of it has branched out to most sections by now. I believe there is a clip of them playing it either during Explosion Day or against Bodatious at the Labor Day Classic, can't remember. Or it might have been after homecoming, I can't remember, they have so many.
there are quite a few great mouthpieces for different types of playing. For concert band i have two mouthpieces one that has a larger cup (helleberg) and one with a smaller cup (bach) depending on music. For marching i usually use my larger cup one unless it is cold then i use my plastic one which stays warm.
Scared??? It's all music playa, what is there to fear. Now respect may be a better word to use. No, only a few are music majors. I just work them year round and keep them in the right state of mind. It's all about pride.
VSU is betta y cookman's loud is cuz of dey 24 or however much dey got, could dey really get like VSU. VSU is loud wit dey 9 to 12 dey got. oh yea an if yall want to learn da fanfares and cant ask the people in horsepower, try this... AUDIO LEARNING. But really BCC and VSU got tuba sections dat r on point
Sorry but we do not have them written out. Everything is taught and passed on from year to year. But you are welcome to attend our high school day on April 28th at Virginia State University if you would like to talk to some of the members.

Euphernonium 3 years ago
yea..they suck for loud stuff, but its better than having cold lips against cold metal and ripping one of them open like i did last year.
