  • Metalcore is a cancer.

  • legends.

  • this is metalcore (or metallic hardcore if you prefer). Not that hard, really.

  • @damocles943 ....what? yeah...your wrong. I take it youve never seen them live? or heard any of their music?

  • @greenroomdude okay, share your immense musical knowledge and tell me what genre they are.

  • @damocles943 ..oh shit...NM..i thought you were saying that Converge wasnt that hard...i wasnt talkin about the genre.

  • @greenroomdude oh, hahaha I see how my comment could be confusing. I was responding to all those people arguing about the genre.

  • @damocles943 ...hahaha..

  • Very similar to Whitechapel's "Darkest Days of Man" videowise. But I guess torture porn isn't exactly a new concept.....

  • @TinnersMcTin i don't think that "torture porn" is the concept of this video.....

  • Hm... I just sent a link to this video to a friend of mine. He went offline immediately after...

  • Comment removed

  • So this is what music sounds like on your homeplanet

  • The Director of this video clip recently died out of an epileptic seizure...

  • the end of the song kicks asses.

  • skip the foreplay ad. gay.

  • epileptic people dying

  • can't wait for the new skip the foreplay jam. sike. get the fuck outta here.

  • can't wait for the new record. If it's anything close in quality to jane Doe, Axe to Fall or petitioning empty sky it will most likely end as my favourite release this year.

  • This is what happens when you get beaver fever

  • This is fucked up lol

  • I like the part where he yelled in the mic

  • @jawbreak1r =))

  • @jawbreak1r like he doesent scream in all the song

  • This is shit.

  • ‎"Be my light in this world of darkness" because while "We may get better we wont get well" so "Guard the heart, our last great hope". And even though "Every time I see me in your eyes, I just want to go blind" I still know that "Their days our over, our nights are here." But "In my world of enemies, I walk alone." and "You'll find me as the last great stand in this history, when all our roads have been traveled, and all have come to a most bitter end," "One day, the Dark Horse will come."

  • Ignore the haters, for i pity them for not opening there minds to such beautiful chaos

  • @Thegammo27 Between The Buried and Me, Periphery, TesseracT, Animals as Leaders, Volumes, and Apostate. There is no need for this band when you have these bands that Converge will never live up to, and never have their talent.

  • @Raiderfan123 Fair enough bro i can appreciate talent that those bands bring and throw in some meshuggah and tool. But i have never listened to a band that can put it that much intensity and passion into 2 mins of music. Not everyones cup of tea i know, but to say there is no need for this music is pretty harsh man. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

  • @Thegammo27 I respect your view upon it and I'm sorry if I was really condescending.

  • @Raiderfan123 I will answer here to your precedent answer :

For me, Dethklok is totally soft, it's just a point of view.

Also, when I see the list of bands you give, I think you only care about technic and you think technic = talent.

There are other things to see in music.

  • @RunawayAileron I understand your point perfectly, but that's not all I care about. I'm just point out bands that are way better than converge. Personally, I also like bands like Maroon 5, Mumford and Sons, The Acacia Strain, Within The Ruins (sorry for another long list) but I understand where you can see the focus on talent, without bragging I am a musician sometimes you like to focus on talent which i'm sure you've already known that.

  • @Raiderfan123 It's possible that "talent" is just a matter of point of view... Here are somes of the bands I like the most : Isis, Converge, Melvins, Sonic Youth, Electric Wizard, Godspeed you black emperor, Neurosis, My bloody valentine, Burzum

For me, they all have the talent I'm looking for.

Tastes and colours :p We can't have allways the same !

  • @Raiderfan123 HAHAHAHA dude, you like Maroon 5 and Mumford and Sons? Jesus.

  • @Lateralus347 Personally, I like a lot of styles. I'm guessing you like Tool since your name is Lateralus, I like them too. You really can't judge someone from the variety of music they like. If anything, I'd compare myself to you by saying at least I have an open mind. That as a musician, I don't limit my knowledge to one style or genre.

  • @Raiderfan123 I'm a musician too, and listen to a variety of genres, but I know better than to listen to garbage-pop and watered down folk. I recommend you check out Fleet Foxes and The Tallest Man on Earth for good modern folk. Also, for the record, I also like Within the Ruins and The Acacia Strain are pretty good, prefer their older stuff (3750, etc.)

  • @Lateralus347 To each their own, I would say Four Years Strong is a great band even though their talent isn't exceedingly impressive. I like Invade from Within the Ruins but for The Acacia Strain I prefer Wormwood, those albums are both good. If I may digress, this is most likely rhetorical but do you like BTBAM?

  • @Raiderfan123 I don't mind Four Year Strong, I think Set Your Goals do what they do but a bit better. And yes I love BTBAM, saw them on their tour with Animals as Leaders a few weeks ago, another band I highly recommend.

  • @Lateralus347 You know i've never really listened to Set Your Goals, all my friends like them i just haven't gotten the chance. Oh fuck i'm jealous, I wanted to go to that tour when it came to San Francisco. Animals as Leaders is good, wasn't TesseracT on that tour as well?

  • @Raiderfan123 yeah i think they were but not too big on them either, vocals kind of ruin it.

  • 1:20 and thus i was born.

  • I saw this video at my buddy's apartment on On Demand while I was high as fuck......life changing experience lol.

  • Real music like this helps me escape, and dampen the progressive intensification of my inner hatred towards this fucked up, piece of shit called society as much every day.

  • I find this easy to masturbate to

  • Never really listened to them cuz i'm too stubborn, but it sounds good to me. I was a fan of force fed glass, anybody know if this is the same drummer?

  • @stoiccadaver yeah, same drummer

  • this may pass for porn for some people lol

  • Thumbs me up if you're seeing them at El Corazon

  • I can respect this music, but I don't think I'll ever be angry enough to appreciate it.

  • @AlG214 it's cool brah, it's cool....

  • @AlG214 Drink a fair amount of caffeine and you'll hear a different band. Just throwing that out there. It puts your mind and the music at an even playing field. Absorbing the dynamics from the chaos happens naturally. Fun stuff.

  • Beautiful, organised chaos.

Just listen carefully, there's so much going on it's crazy.

  • @Adcroy Someone needs to leave the hall.

  • Dang! The song is too short. =( BUT WHO CARES! This song is brutal... & FUCKING POWERFUL!!! =D

  • Such heavy power in this song.

  • This is not metal, this is HARDCORE and nothing else. I'm so sick of metalheads trying to take credit for fast and heavy music.

  • @RisingFalls1 If you can't hear the metal influences then you are blind.

They have repeatedly said to have been inspired by bands like Entombed, Slayer etc.

  • @RisingFalls1 This is Converge.

  • @RisingFalls1 yeah... the "stay brutal" narrow direction of metalheads is really annoying... Also, Lots of Metalheads are not able to understand lots of the greatest metal bands, like in (not brutal) black metal or doom metal. It's such a shame.

  • @RisingFalls1

If hardcore bands stop calling themselves metal, we wouldn't give a flying fuck about you or your awful music.

  • @RisingFalls1 hardcore is safe because this variation was not influenced by the metal

    this style is completely original

the metal had nothing to do :D

    stupid

  • @alfredsurfer08

that band you mentioned sucks. alot. really bad.

  • @richardkozan stfu its alot better then this shit

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 You opinion doesn't matter, jackass! Go back & listen to your Chunk! No, Captain Chuck! you ignorant son a bitch!

  • This is fucking horrible, how can people even listen to this fucking shit? Calling this metal is inexcuseable, this is a fucking embarrasment to all music. It's literally just repeating the same muted riffs and blastbeats over and over again in odd time signatures, it's just a load of shitty noise. If you listen to this you should feel bad about yourself.

Check out blessthefall instead, now that's real music.

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 lul, how does it feel to know that no matter how hard you bitchass about another persons music taste over the internet they still won't give a fuck? No matter how godawful you think this video is, no one else cares. That said, go listen to what you want to listen to. IDGAF.

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 best be trollin'

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 haha blessthefall are ok bro... try playin this...

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 Go hear some black metal things. I'm sure you will understand that you don't understand something about "repeating riffs".

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA blessthefall wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for converge. Metalcore wouldn't exist. show some fucking respect, these dudes are brilliant.

  • Worst fucking band on the planet. Death to false metal.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001

Alright- what'd you call true metal?

Unrelated: The ad for iTunes is sickening. Copy and spread, people.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 It's maybe because Converge is not metal and doesn't want to be "metal" xD

You really should not think that metal is the pinnacle or in the middle of extreme music... really...

  • @RunawayAileron Converge calls themselves "hardcore punk/metal."

If hardcore bands would stop calling themselves metal then we'd get along much better. We don't give a shit about being the most extreme genre, though we do have the most badass fans of any genre.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Oh, in the last interview I saw, they only called themselves "hardcore" : /

This is sad. Their metal influences (like Slayer) are the metal which is influenced a lot by punk bands (like Discharge)... So finally, the metal part is very small...

But metal fans really think that thrash metal is pure metal, they don't understand that thrash metal is half-metal half-punk in the influences...

  • @RunawayAileron

I'm not sure what you mean, thrash isn't pure metal. If there is a "pure metal," I'd say it's probably melodic death, but I really don't think you could call a genre "pure metal." Everything has outside influences in it, but calling thrash "half-punk" is a bit of an exaggeration...

Almost all metalheads hate hardcore. We don't like it when people call it metal. That's my complaint, I'm not here to argue influences with you.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 I totally agree with you and I'm making an exaggeration ^^

Finally, I think I'm just sad about this border...

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Melodic Death is influenced by thrash so it still has hardcore influences. NWOBHM is influenced by early punk, so you can't say the genres are mutually exclusive.

  • @SuperBspb And trash connects to hardcore...how?

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Um, Metallica covered Discharge and the Misfits, Slayer covered Minor Threat, and all the thrash bands cited hardcore bands as influences. It's obvious that they got the speed of thrash from hardcore.

  • @SuperBspb It's obvious that you have NO idea what you're talking about. Do your research. When you do, you'll discover that "hardcore" did not EXIST in the era of origin of the bands you just listed. Moron.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Actually your the one who is a Moron. The first hardcore bands were Black Flag and Bad Brains and they both formed in 1977. Discharge formed in 1977 also. Ian Mackaye's first band, the Teen Idles, was formed in 1979. Metallica and Slayer were both formed in 1981, so you can stop feigning intelligence of the subject.

  • @SuperBspb Those are all punk bands. Punk is not hardcore. It's as easy as 1-2-3, but I guess your puny underdeveloped brain can't comprehend that. Learn something about music before you get into conversations about it so you don't look so silly. Run along now, child. Your mom is calling for you.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Hardcore is punk you ignoramus. It's called hardcore punk for a reason. Converge is a punk band. Just because it's heavier than the predecessors doesn't change anything. You must be confusing "metalcore" with hardcore. Metalcore barely resembles hardcore or metal. It is some weird combination of emo, breakdowns, and autotuned pop.

  • @SuperBspb How dense are you? Hardcore is a genre that recently spawned from punk; how could you possibly think they're the same thing? I'm done arguing with you. It's a waste of my time to try to expostulate someone so stupendously retarded.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 How dense are you? DOA's 1981 album Hardcore 81' isn't hardcore? The movie American Hardcore which features bands only from the early 80s isn't about hardcore? I have been a fan of hardcore for years. Your a fucking imbecile who doesn't know shit, and deludes himself into feeling intelligent. Now stop spewing your moronic bullshit that I have proven wrong you ignorant cunt.

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 they also call it metalic hardcore my dude

  • @HeartOfSteel9001 Funny, the majority of hardcore bands are metal, and they only label themselves as hardcore because they want to appeal to their scene. If hatebreed called themselves a nu-metal band in their early years, they probably wouldn't be so popular with hXc ninja moshers.

  • Not for epileptics

  • best band in the world.

  • Got to love a 30 second ad for a Sears appliance sale before this face melting insanity.

  • this.... fucking.... sucks,....

you can't call thus music! wtf is wrong with these people?

  • @RandomVidsMaker You cant have an opinion. You like Enter Shikari rofl. Converge are mathcore pioneers. These guys are fucking legends. Not the queer metalcore you're into with rich british kids using autotune and repeating breakdowns repeatedly.

  • @CalvinBurnsRed I sure can have an opinion... it is right there. and Enter Shikari is like 80? 100 times better than this bullshit?

  • @RandomVidsMaker If there was a competition for whoever can reuse the same drop d chords, Enter Shikari would win by a mile. Oh, lets not forget, Enter Shikari are sooo fucking brutal!!!11one!!11 Tekno breakdown!

You're a 14 year old girl if you seriously think any popcore band is better than converge.

  • @RandomVidsMaker I like Enter Shikari and I have to disagree with you, they are not even on the same level as these guys. Just because you dislike this doesn't mean it isn't music.

  • @RandomVidsMaker I'd take your opinion if Enter Shikari hadn't watered down their own music. Take To The Skies days, they were a contender for one of my favourite bands. Their new stuff gets worse and worse, whilst Converge seem to just get better and better.

  • @RandomVidsMaker enter shikari wouldnt even be around if it wasnt for converge fool XD you are entitled to your opinion all you fucking want, but get your facts straight before you go and disrespect the fathers of metalcore

  • @RandomVidsMaker Why you're even watching Converge videos if you don't like it... oh and Enter Shikari... :')

  • @RandomVidsMaker Music comes in all shapes and sizes, squire, like any form of art, and can be as harsh and unforgiving as its creators wish it to be. And quite frankly, the amount of technical precision, songwriting ability and creative forethought that goes into metal and hardcore far outstrips any Auto-Tune pop band. Like Enter Shikari.

  • They accomplished more with this one song, than most bands will accomplish in their entire careers

  • FUCK ESCAPE THE FATE

  • Dove really knows their demographic...

  • YOU MIGHT BE A PUSSY IF...

    -You don't like Converge.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA! There was a Maroon 5 ad before the video. Awesome.

  • Cameltoe at 0:30

  • @FailBlob lol good luck pausing at the right moment, video is fucking crazy =D

  • @FailBlob Lolol awesome sauce XDD

  • can you believe these guys were badass in 1997.....and they are STILL badass now!??!!? hardcore is gasping it's last breath with all the forced melodic choruses, fashion mullets, and v neck hipster bullshit, thank god jacob and the boys can still put out amazing shit like this

  • @airahzel20 im sorry airahzel20 but its true. honestly this band is like te beatles to hardcore bands. I HATE HARDCORE BANDS!!!! but converge is an exception because people dont treat them godly or like there better than sliced bread!!!! if it wasnt for converge bands like bmth asking alexandria falling in reverse chelsey grin esacape the fate and all those other bands wouldnt exist!

  • very tetsuish

  • Okay, but this was a complete rip from aphex twin and his video Come to Daddy, and a great deal of the elements in this video are clearly taken from The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson.

  • @Reddebt who cares.

  • @Reddebt I see where you get the Come to Daddy similarities with the TV, shoddy buildings, monsters, still has their own idea though, now if there was the same looking mutant w/e in this i would say totally a rip off but not really the way it is now

  • @MONSTERQNUG Don't you just love people who dont understand the difference between similar themes and ripping off...

  • @Reddebt Look up the movie Tetsuo: The iron man, you'll see where the influence came from.

  • awesome shit. i love it!!!

  • BMTH SUCKS! :)

  • @Rhino873 no they don't

  • Thats some hardcore shit.

  • i wish someone would make a video to music like this that is filled with parking tickets, shitty girlfriends, bad weather, unreasonable deadlines, bad tv, broken iphones and dogs taking way too long to poo when it's the middle of the night and time to go to bed = all the things that make me feel the kinda rage portrayed in this song and stuff that i can actually relate too.

  • @gomachols ahahaha! what a genuinely amazing comment. +1

  • someone said to me "yeah man, emmure is like the heaviest band out there today"

i played this song to him and now he can only walk backwards

  • @lostenmusic somebody i know through a waterbottle at the guys face after they opened for hatebreed. fuckin' pretentious emo kids. how can they write 5 albums of that bitch crying about his girlfriend.

"I still cry to the bayside CD every single day" - emmure.

  • @lostenmusic Too bad this band sucks and Emmure is better and is still heavier. -_-

  • @Raiderfan123 Too bad Emmure still sucks.

  • @Aepriz Not at all lmao, they're way better than this piece of shit band. I even watched this band get booed on the tour with Dethklok/Mastodon.

  • @Raiderfan123 Because a hardcore band is booed at a soft metal show with Dethklok and Mastodon doesn't meen it sucks...

  • @RunawayAileron Soft metal show? We're talking about Dethklok. Plus, it alludes to their skill level when that many people booed them, and generally speaking it's not because they're hardcore. I'm just saying, i don't know what anyone sees in this. This is so shitty, the vocals are terrible, and it has no point. For anyone to compare them to Emmure or any other band saying that they're better is an outright mistake.

  • @Raiderfan123 Dude, you seriously need to stop being so close minded. Converge has been doing this for over 20 years now. Aside from BTBAM, those bands have been around for 5 years at most. Hate the vocals, but at least respect what they've done. They've revolutionized a genre. They've accomplished more than those bands might ever will (again, aside from BTBAM). And if you put them in the same category as Emmure, you're really just showing how fucking closed minded you are.

  • @iaxodus The thing is, I'm not close minded, and the reason I compared them to Emmure was due to a top rated comment that compared them to Emmure. I due think the drummer is really good, I saw them live and he's good but the rest of music just isn't and I don't see the point. It honestly sounds like thrown together riffs and the vocalist is just doing mids the whole time.

  • @iaxodus do*

  • im pretty certain the answers to life and an ad to mcdonalds was placed somewhere in the lyrics

  • Right at the end my video restarted(no lie. It was creepy.)

  • During this 1:14 second video and eyes fell out my head my dropped to the floor my dog grew a pair of wings and flew out the window and my brother's face melted.

  • please get this bmth bullshit out of the vicinity of this video.

  • lol at the "Secret Deoderant for Women" add right before the vid

  • tetsuo iron man!!

  • finaly somethine good to listen to and kill zombies to. :D

  • this is pu ss y sh i t... listen to some zz top ya wankaz

  • Converge are like lightning on a golf course. Clears out all the pussies.

  • saw them live, guess what? they suck in concert too!!

  • guau, i feel fear and love xD

  • respect your hardcore/mathcore elders. converge was doing this shit while you were watching Power Rangers in the morning.

  • @jynxycats it dont matter when trash was trash, THIS IS TRASH!! THROW CONVERGE IN THE GARBAGE! NO STRUCTURE! JUST GARBAGE!!!!

  • @V0rac10us LOOK, I CAN WRITE IN CAPS TOO BANOKAGBOAGEH.

  • @V0rac10us That comment just proves you're mad, you probably got your ass kicked at a Coverge show. That's all, have a nice day, pussy.

  • @jynxycats What do you mean "were watching"

  • @jynxycats Go Go Mathcore Rangers!

  • fucking intense on or off the stage. these guys fucking RULE!

  • My colleague Rakan likes this. :)

  • delightful monotone how i missed you... oh wait no i didn't. i will never get this kinda music but whatever

  • @TheVanKeh not monotone, unrelenting.

  • @PaintedTeleportation Yeah they been out since the early 90's so when they were teens, Converge was probably the number one band. twenty years later, they're still listening to it. Probably one of the few metalcore bands I listen to.

  • that was FUCKING BRUTAL!

  • The only good band on Epitaph records.

  • his vocals sound so buried. i cant make out a single word

  • @pyroplaya18712 That's the point.

  • Ugh, this bands videos are always so cheesy. I mean are they trying to appeal to teenagers?

  • @ramosd6721 I fail to see how exactly this qualifies as "cheesy". Elaborate.

  • @davethehostage I'd also like to point out that you usually start listening to music like this as a teen, not an adult haha.
