That's cool that people are serene and stuff, but... when it comes down to it, larger religious groups are basically still cults (by definition they ARE cults) whose legitimacy is seems to be derived from their numbers - for example, smaller commune groups are considered crazy while institutional sized corporations like the central church in SLC aren't DESPITE holding views that are equally nutty to the rest of us.
@thenewtitle26 of course. but they're more into becoming foreigners on their missions and preying on the poor, lonely and distressed people of recently-ravaged third world countries.
@omiolo You DO realize that the mormon religion is a cult and nothing more, right? I sure hope so. There are so many contradictions, it's saddening. I love the mormon people, they're kind, mature, and just great to be around. But the religion that is expressed is terrifying, that all those good people are bound by a non-free-expression institution. Homophobia, racism, and naivety is abound within the mormon religion, and that is something that I wish could be demolished. I pity you.
@omiolo Haha, you're a troll, aren't you? So cute. I said I hated the religion, not the people who practiced it ;). A bigot is someone who is prejudiced against the people without due cause. I think I've gotten enough crap from the ones that consider themselves "good mormons", when in fact they're nothing more than too-radical purist "mormons". I actually have thought about joining it, but saw the piece of shit the religion really is. I decided against it ;).
@omiolo NOT to mention that most mormons, regrettably, can't think past their own naivety. The open-minded ones are the ones of my generation, I'm 20 now, but it's still bad in the way society carries itself in Utah and other places surrounding the mormon culture. I said it before, I'll say it again: the people are great, if naive, but the religion, in almost every case, is unjustified. It bespeaks "harmony" and "love" and "joy" and bullshit that some guy supposedly found on a hill. Whooooo.

World Domination, the plan of the Mormon Church. (Seriously, if you've ever seen their offices in SLC, you would believe so.)
