Where does it say (001000)? It shouldn't say that on the iPod. If it does that on the computer, try a different computer WITH ITUNES INSTALLED and LAUNCHED FROM THE ZIP FILE.

Are you running Windows Vista? like home premium and above? if yes, you should run from the .RAR file directly. If that does not work, then Right Click and click on Run As Administrator. If that still didn't work, make sure iTunes is installed. If that still didn't work, PM me back a reply.

don't worry, you can jailbreak any ipod touch using quickpwn without restoring, but it is recommended to restore because the data might interfere with the jailbreak. so its your choice: keep music and data; or jailbreak and have tons of fun on it. Its you choice my padawan... lol

You will not lose any jailbroken data by syncing to iTunes because it does not sync any native applications Cydia or Installer installs. If you want to back up your jailbroken apps, you will have to install AptBackup through Cydia and it will backup your apps through an iTunes backup.

Yeah. You have to Download the Required Firmware (2.2) and then shift click restore in iTunes. It would open up a window for you to choose where your firmware is located. It would not update to the latest firmware (2.2.1).
