  • did any1 notice that this was the only shining time VHS w/ ringo as the conducter?

  • RINGO!!!!!! My love!!!! I can't believe it either I'm 12 and I am n luv with RINGO Starr Paul McCartney jon bon Jovi and Steven tyler

  • RINGO!!!! :D You brought me my christmas tree!!!!!!!!!!! also, I didn't know he was on this!

  • This is what made kids shows in the 80s and 90s great. The kids actually learned something without some slimy special interest group getting involved in indoctrinate them, and there were references that only the parents got, which meant that you could watch TV with your kids without losing your mind. Kids shows today are all about self-interest, like saving the planet. It was bad enough when McDonalds indoctrinated kids and got them eating fast food. This was the good old days of kids TV.

  • I guess he doesn't put on women's clothing or hang around in bars.

  • I sleep all night and I work all day.

  • Long Live Ringo Starr.

  • what the heck?

  • Monty Python Refrences FTW!

  • haha...

  • You can never go wrong with The Beatles and Monty Python... until you do. :-P I used to love this show when I was a kid. Frenchie from Grease played in it too. I wonder if this had anything to do with my obsession of The Beatles...

  • Can't believe they used that song.

  • LOL

omg i had no idea Ringo was apart of the Thomas The Tank Engine show. this totally made my day

  • i know! when i was little and watched this i had no idea who ringo was and now that I do it's so weird seeing these old clips

  • @BeatlesTributePage Yeah, he narrated both Season of the US and UK dubs, narrated some Ladybird Thomas story books, and played Mr. Conductor for the first Season of Shining Time Station. He came back as the voice of Thomas in the UK's special Children in Need music video, which featured Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt (who was eating donuts :p)

  • wait. did they just digitaly replace him w/ george carlin? or were there a whole nother set of episodes?

  • Season one, Ringo starred as Mr. Conductor

Season two, they replaced him with George.

  • @flcl64 George took over for Ringo after the end of the first season of Shining Time, which was this episode "Tis A Gift."

  • aww...you know, i knew ringo as the conductor before i knew him as a beatle :D

i remember when i was ten watching "a hard day's night" and saying MOM LOOK IT'S THE CONDUCTOR!!!

  • This was the last episode of Ringo being Mr. Conductor. I remember it well, and always will.

  • Just to clear it up:

The lumberjack song goes "all right" and "okay", just in different verses.

  • There i love Ringgo Starr

  • Ringo Starr should return to narrate Thomas the Tank Engine one time.

If it weren't for him, I would not got into Thomas.

  • None of us Americans would have.

  • the song really goes "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OKAY" not "all right"

  • "the song really goes "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OKAY" not "all right""

Maybe they changed it a little because of copyright...

  • that and well... umm... you know... the hint that the lumberjack "putting on women's clothing and hanging around in bars"

  • @WhiteJarrah That, and allusions to cross dressing. :D

  • @ChipmunkRaccoon2 That's okay, he can "work all day and sleep all night" :o)

  • @Belphegor82 or the other way around

  • lol, Ringo singing it is funny

  • That's kind of his job

    lol

  • I used to have this special on VHS, but I have no idea what happened to the tape. Hearing Mr. Conductor sing the Lumberjack Song made me laugh.

  • I have this episode on video tape still.

  • LOL I never saw that coming!
