  • Good job with the turbo setup!!!! I JUST GOT MY PORTED N POLISHED HEAD WITH 4 angle vavle job, Machined milled and resurfaced, JET coated, with dual springs, steel retainers, new lifters.. I just BOUGHT my AUTOTEC 270 cam!!! YAAY, gasket kit and ARP head studs, with TT 2" race downpipe with cat delete, and Tectonics 2.25 catback..

    only thing on car right now is the catback, waiting to put ALL this power on the car in 4 weeks, but ME and my brother just love how this autotec 270 cam idles

  • He has a BOV, its not releasing the pressure cuz there is no boost built up.

  • I don't think this car was originally a turbo car, so the ecu isn't ready for all the extra air in the intake. It will try to richen the mixture, but won't succeed because it isn't programmed to do that. The car will need to be tuned. The reason it's coming out of the engine bay is because his down pipe isn't hooked up, I think. I mean it definitely doesn't have an exhaust.

  • Also, since he no longer uses an air box, he may not have the oil breather permanently situated. That could be some of the smoke.  I really can't see it well enough to tell.

  • Ditch the FMU or you are gonna blow your motor. Its a bandaid. Get a standalone or chip your ecu and get it tuned ASAP!

  • I am glad to see this on an X-Flow engine. Nice!! BBM has a very nice supercharger for it also. I have the Patec HoleShot Coilovers also on my 88' MKII 2.0L 16V. They have been pretty forgiving. Not too harsh of a ride, but they are great on the twisties. Mine are valved for the VR6. The VR goes into my car next week. Hope to see you guys on the Vortex website. Cheers!!

  • It actually handles great! I'm not running anything insane for susupension, just the patec holeshot coilovers. They do really good on the street and in the mountains so far. I've only been running them less than 5 months, but for the money they're well worth it. I'm also running dual piston audi calipers with the corrado VR6 rotors, in combination with some good tires, they seem to be working really good.
