Well, some titles to check out most definitely. I have Buckland's big blue book myself, and while i don't really like his philosophical style and such, big blue is good for crafting projects and the utilitarian side of the craft. Ed Fitch on the other hand, i have had one of his books before, and i remember liking him, though that was a long time agi, not sure how i would view him now. As for the others, they look interesting, thanks for showing them :)
I agree with u, buckland isn't for everyone and there are some things i don't like either about his way of doing thing but do find some useful info within books. Sometimes even if I don't like a certain author, i'll still read their books to learn of a diff persepctive etc, I like diversity in opinion etc and try not to get trapped into any set dogma of any particular author. That being said, some folks I am a big fan of, dogma or not haha Blessings to you and yours )O(
I agree, You should read up on many different perspectives, even if they don't quite jibe with your own. Buckland's, for the most pat, doesn't with me, but i like The big blue book simply because of the information in it such as the different runes, he shows you how to make an athame, sandals, robes, etc. I don't completely disagree with him on spiritual matters, but on a few key things i do. But with any author there will be things you disagree with and agree with.
Amazon is not available and ebay is available but they have BIG shipping taxes for Romania and if I want to buy something over the internet from other states like UK, we have to pay some extra taxes. For example a book that is 10 euro I have to pay 26 euros. SO it's a little big to expensive :P The only book available in Romania about wicca is the one by Scott Cunningham ,,Guide for a solitary practitioner" but we have lots of books about shamanism/astral projections/feng-shui/meditation etc.
So I have to learn from theme and do adapt them to what I know about wicca over the internet ( thanks google and youtube!) I also started to learn about Tarot and Crystals I have 2 great books about it. :* BB :*
Well, now, Scott Cunningham's guide for the solitary practitioner is a good one, i would definitely recommend that one to anyone. The net is good for finding info, you just have to be careful, because some people put out info like they are experts, when they're really not.
Thanks for the reply, I already have the one by Scott Cunningham and it's a good book, I learned a lot from it. Thanks again and blessed be. Greetings from Romania
No problem. :) I know how tough it is to get your hands on books on paganism and Wicca, etc. I live in a small southern town in Georgia, in the United States, and it is a very Christian place, and the only way i can find good books on paganism and the like is online. But, also, there are good websites and such, and people like Craftywytch and the like are good to learn from as well. My advice is learn from every source you can, and then decide what you believe and what calls to you. :)
*Doh* (hits self on forehead), I didn't even include any of his books! argh. I love his books, Yep, definately check out his books if you haven't already :)
Where are you? We miss your vids!
Blessings,
