He was looking out for long term interests for the nation, certainly. Dick "Deficits Dont Matter' Cheney took over from there. Geithner was also chair of the NY Fed during the Bush administration, he was the Chief regulator of Wall Street the last few years of Bush.

This was a great interview! I have never seen David hold any democrats accountable and ask hard questions like in this interview, I am impressed. I have never seen "Tax Cheat" Tim Geithner squirm and look so perplexed with each question as I did in this entire interview. Maybe there is some hope for real journalism in this country!

Sure GDP is up, we are almost 2 years into this recession, even GM had a sales increase.
Paying people to buy houses and cars and we squeak out 3.5% increase (that is an annual rate) so for the quarter its really less than 9/10th of 1%.
