@kleenmaide Lighting is optional, bowls are not essential habitats for goldfish so yes a tank with filtration is highly recommended by people who keep/breed goldfish as a hobby. Just make sure not to overfeed the fish, more or less, don't overstock the tank too.

I have 45 gold fish, 2-3inches in size, i feed them a lot, i have 2 tanks (5gal and 10 gal) my little brother also has a like 1-2gal tank, which i researched and it's bad to be in it? it's got a air bubbled operated filter, so it's not really that good but still filters it. the tanks are always foggy but i know how to fix that, Ammonia is high for gold fish with 10+ in a tank, unless you don't feed them much? i think, i just need to know. should i get a plant and a bubble system for the Oxygen?

I would have to say you don't know a lot about keeping goldfish. The tank for the two common goldfish needs to be 40 gallons (20 gallons per fish because they grow so long) and it clearly ISN'T which is why they died :(

And a fancy needs 10 gallons per fish

I am saddled with a goldfish that I didn't want. Even worse...my daughter won it in a fair and it died then I had to go and replace it. I doubt I can keep the fish alive for more than a couple days. I am in a real bind because my four year old daughter turns 5 in a few days so her birthday is close and if she learns her fish died it will ruin her birthday (that is what my wife thinks) I am stuck trying to please my wife and daughter by keeping on getting fish. This REALLY sucks.

I have two goldfish and two fan tails i have them seperate but three have got black streaks on the fins please can you tell me what it is because they didnt have them before this has progressed over 6 months.The water is checked i clean them and make sure the ph level are right theres no nitrate nor amonia but baffled by this.Secondly my fan tail has fins that have deterated ive treat it with disease treatment and have used tonic salt.

ok, it sound like what you need to do is either seperate the small fish from the greedy ones or physically make sure that he is being fed, if a fish is not eating, its a major problemo

Yesterday i saw a bit of my chubby shortails tail floating around the tank!

The shubumkin and regular goldfish were biting its tail off and fins!!!!!

Blood was all over the fins but the shortail WASNT fighting back that day it was swimming away.

That day they all got a good amount of food so i dont know why that happened unless they hate each other..

Yesterday evening i seperated them and im now in NEED of a tank for my shortail.

My mums got a big vase for me to put my shortail in and i have some fake seaweed for it lol :P.
