  • Whoops...didn't mean to do that. Omg Will cost him $218,000

  • Omg inca

  • DURST got murdered that same night

  • I saw this on the behind-the-scenes special. I felt so bad for the contestant.

  • that was a piss easy question for 250k

  • @MuseRoyalty Sure it was, for a Brit. Most Americans don't know what statue is on Liberty Island, let alone outside their country.

  • I think there was some blood later...

  • oh my god, that was crushing. :( why in the .... did his friend throw this man's fortune away stating that he knew for a fact, when he obviously had no idea?? pain.

  • from having the time of your life to wanting to kick your friend's ass cuz he lost u $218,000

  • "You're best friend are your worst enemy"

  • ...a wrong advice...

  • DURST

  • @h0merg0mez DURST WILL DIE.

  • like a boss

  • Will Hurst: Landis

    Me: Cough, no

  • 0:26 He say's "Sir Walter Rolph" or something stupid instead of Sir Walter Raleigh !

  • This guy had a huge clue that his friend was wrong that I think many would over look. If you listen to the audience cheer after he gives the correct answer for admiral Nelson there is a lot of cheering from lots of people, but after his friend gives advice he believes is fact Rudy says "my man" and barley any of the audience responded.

  • The next day...

Headline: "Will Durst found beaten and battered in apartment home".

  • I knew the guy had no idea what he was talking about when he mentioned the non-existant $5000 question.

  • If i were in the audience... i would just give wrong anwser to screw them over ^.^

  • I think the question about Trafalgar Square was very easy.

  • Actually, MJ's had a long history with those said Hollywood figures:

    Scorsese directed "Bad" (obviously)...

Landis directed "Thriller" (need I say more?)...

    Spielberg guest starred in "Moonwalker"...

and Coppola worked with him on "Captain EO"...

Leave it to somebody like Will Durst to be one of the many to tarnish hiss reputation...

  • his voice sounds like Chevy Chase!

  • This is sad. He didn't get to see his $1 million question. "Give me back the $218,000 before I take out this belt and kick your ass with it!"

  • Not quite as hilarious as Kati Knudsen's loss, but right up there. It's still hilarious as heck!!!

  • I wish this WAS a joke... but it's not and Durst deserves a good whoopin'.

  • And if he were still alive, a good molesting from Jacko himself! (J/K)

  • He had about 20 seconds left on that phone a friend. I would ask him how sure you are and how do you know it. I bet that comedian friend would say that he just saw it somewhere out of his ass which would be a red flag. 250 K is a lot of money and phone a friend could be useless on that level unless it's a good one.

  • that was easy!

  • they probably dont know each other right now

  • AAAAGGGGGHHH FUCK

  • I bet that comedian got a laugh of his lifetime when he tricked him! HAHAHAHHAA!

  • This is somewhat of a trick question to me. When you think of Michael Jackson's videos, Thriller is the one that comes to mind and Landis directed that, as Philbin explained. I made the same mistake when the choices came up.

  • Lol owned

  • It was probably his idea of a joke o.O

  • To trick him to lose 218,000 dollars? I dont think Rudy thought it was that funny

  • I was kidding since their both comedians...

  • This was 2 days after Mark McDermott missed his 500,000$ question

  • I thought that Lawrence Caplan missed his 1/2 million question after Mark. I was amazed that someone as bright as Mark could miss such an easy question.

  • Yeah..Mark McDermott was first, Lawrence Caplan was second, Rudy Reber was third, and Kati Knudsen was after him (first woman to miss the $500K question, too).

  • messed up

  • He better get back home and beat the shit outta that guy.

  • 3:41-3:46, it makes me laugh a lot to say, "Ah, Durst, you dog", (ha, ha, (laughter), I wished his phone-a-friend could've said C: Martin Scorsese, because if at the part of 3:34, that would've been nice if he had won $500,000, as though I wish he really had won $1 Million or walk with $500,000, but, laugh at 3:41-3:46 to say, "Ah, Durst, you dog", (ha, ha, laughter), I think I'd go back in time one day and fix his mistake so he could win $1 Million, but would he win it?

  • Did you notice the woman behind Rudy gasp and look next to her? I would have done the same thing.

  • ummm

  • hahahaha. at the very end did u notice how he said "this is enough to keep me out of telemarketing" well hes the manager at the georgia fop center in augusta and guess what hes doin? yup. telemarketing

  • Luckly that wasn't a million dollar question.

  • I kind of feel sorry for his friend actually.

But think about it this way - the millionaire contestant wouldn't have guessed it right anyways (he had no clue what right answer was), and there were 4 options.

  • it's a trick question because John Landis in fact did direct 1983 "Thriller" for Michael Jackson, and this is probably what his friend was thinking about and that's the reason he was so confident. A classic "bummer".

  • he coodve used the 50/50 or sumtin

  • He used the 50:50 on the 32K question. His PAF was the last lifeline left.

  • but he would have kept the 250 000.

  • Yeah, but then he wouldn't have lost all of his money. He went from $250k to $32k because he answered the question.

  • His friend is a dirtbag! F___ him.

  • I'd have strangeled him when I got home.

  • that makes me mad

  • I think his friend got beaten up later that night

  • poor guy, but his friend was probably thinking of something else, you know what, shit happens and youve got to accept it

  • That shit was grimy as hell. i'd kill him

  • I would buy a $32,000 gun and shoot my friend in the foot!

  • I think that his friend sad wrong on purpose so he doesn't earn that much money because he was jealous?

  • I wonder if he called Durst after that to tell him he owed him $218,000 for that wrong answer?

  • wht a fuckin jackass friend

  • lol this guy was my boss at a telemarketing place in augusta georgia..lol he was a jackass but he was funny as hell

  • That was definitely painful for him.

  • Damn i feel bad for this guy.

  • dont trust your "friend" IoI.......

  • Haha! Now all you get is my annual salary in about one day's work, you loser! -.-"

  • Poor Rudy! I'll get you Will, ya dirty #*$^%@! Maybe I should take the dollar sign away from that expletive.

  • My Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Executive producer Michael Davies used this question to teach how to NOT use Phone A Friend. Though he claims Rudy simply trusted Will without asking for certainty, Rudy DID ask if Will was sure...twice.

  • That guy's a telemarketer now...ugh

  • oh my god, i feel so bad lol, that sux jeez, that was a nice guy too lol that sux

  • What an easy f#cking 250K question.

  • Seriously, they had that as a $200 question on Teen Jeopardy.

  • I sat there and said to myself "Not Scorsese, I don't think he'll do anything like that" lol

  • I knew the answer to that question!

  • me too

  • OUCH! I remember watching this, I was hoping that he would go all the way. Painful to watch.

I remember there was some woman who got the $500,000 question wrong, but she acted like an idiot throughout the entire show and was a complete ass to Regis. I was glad about that loss.

  • Is it that one woman who said "I'm not a quitter?"

  • No wait it was the other one.

  • It's either Kati Knudsen or Raymelle Greening; they are the only two women to lose 218K when Regis was hosting.

  • It's gotta be Landis.

  • Watching this clip again: 1. Don't remember Regis being that stunned; 2. Will Durst had to be thinking of Thriller. Landis is the only one you associate with Jackson videos. 3. I suppose I would have done the same thing if a lifeline was that confident, though I would like to think I might have taken a little time on the decision.
