mental note: next time in NYC must make pilgrimage to 425 West 57th. who for? moondog couldn't know, but listening, amazed, i think, for me. what for? this music is so surprising, seems to be for nothing if not the sheer wonder of hearing, the beauty of the beats. terrific visuals, such fun, a wonderful illustration
wow dude, beautiful video. all the different pictures, like every beat is an entity of it's own, not just an electronic loop by a machine ... so philosophical!
one-four, two-four, three-four, four-four, five-four, six-four, seven-four, eight-four, nine-four, and who for? and what for? I don't know...(effin brilliant)
Creative and well done video. The music is Moondog's, so not much more to say about that. I hope we never lose the ability to produce (or allow to produce themselves) such creative individualists as moondog.
i thought this was called "1 to 9" (?) maybe im mistaken....my copy of this song is much different but the song i have called 1 to 9 is identical to this one....
I sat down and played all this beats with my cajon, it is fun and a little bit training listening to a 9/4 and play it with same accents after hear it one or two times.
@ Laurenan69
how did you get all his stuff, I try to buy more of his stuff but can´t get most of it
these are time signatures, not tempos, but nice beats nonetheless

4/4 and 3/4 and all the usual ones never keep their old charms, once you've experienced the delights of 7/4.

Excellent song and excellent video! I was just listening to this and thought I'd see if there was any Moondog on youtube. Very happy to find this.
The title is From One to Nine though.

this is really called 1 to 9 but it is labeled incorrectly in a certain album that i have as a torrent. thats probably where things got mixed up.
Moonanite 2 years ago
The beginning of the video has it's real name on a title card?
jesusofraleigh 2 years ago
@hectorsland Moondog often gave his compositions different names over the years
