I'm a christian and I LOVE this movie. It's one of the funniest movies ever made.
To those christians who are offended by it, I'm pretty sure that Jesus said that we shouldn't not only offend others, but that we ourselves shouldn't be offended 'by' others. Therefore, either enjoy this hilarious movie, or ignore it, but please stop being offended by it or what others say.

this story is making fun of religious establishment and the people who follow that establishment to a "t" its not making fun of jesus nor is it trying to promote atheism the whole point of the movie is to show how people don't think for themselves and end up construing any form of message given. this is not an athiest/religious, debate movie. its not fucking davinci code so everyone needs to stop treating it like it is

@thehoff1982 'we are all mature enough'?! there are millions of people who believe in a god of some sort all around the world. Also why is an atheistic view of the world so much more mature? No one actually KNOWS whether there is a god or not as science neither proves nor disproves a gods existence. Religion is not always brain washing and neither does it allways control societies 'through irrational fear', I'm not saying some don't, but stop generalising and grow up!

@telulahG i agree. i'm not an aetheist - i'm not anything! why do you feel the need to label me? gods' existance has neither been proven or otherwise so i wouldn't say he definitely exists or not. however, all religeon 'is' man made, you can't dispute that! whether or not any religeon is actually correct is unknown. we will all know the truth on our death beds. it just annoys me when religeous people stuff their beliefs into your face and try to force you to 'believe'!

The point of this movie is NOT to discredit God or Jesus or any of that. It's to remind Christians to know what they're actually talking about, because a lot of them don't. Many have scarcely even opened up their Bibles, nor payed attention to the readings in Mass. They then presume to known things about Christianity based on what they THINK about what little they know.
So I say the problem is THINKING. Don't THINK about your faith, LOOK at what you say you believe! Observe it and follow it!
