  • thank you.

  • Cincinnati is a great town, people are just fantastic

  • @RawkGawd3307 Cincinnati is a horrible city; one of the worst in the U.S. Every midwestern city is either insufferably boring, replete with crime, appallingly decayed, or all three. I'd rather live in the Bible-Belt than in crime-infested Cincinnati/Detroit/Chicago/St.Louis/etc., or in buttfuck nowhere Iowa surrounded by corn fields

  • @ToaoRaj

    FYI - As per Wikipedia

    93 - "Most Livable City"

04 - Top Ten "Cities that Rock", Esquire

07 - #1 city in Ohio for "Best Cities For Young Professionals" Forbes magazine

08 - #10 as the most walkable city in the US and #1 in Ohio

    11 - #5 in "America's Most Affordable Cities" Forbes

11 - #1 "residential remodeling market" in the US by Remodeling Magazine

11 - #7 as the "Most Romantic City" in the US by Amazon.com

12 - Ranked #3 for Top US Travel Destinations by "Lonely Planet"

  • @TazJr Is that to affirm my point or to impugn it?

  • @ToaoRaj

Impugn it. My reasoning is I travelled 13 hours from Ontario, Canada to watch an NFL game and fell in love with the city with no intentions on it happening. I found what you had to say distasteful and what I interpreted the city to represent is affirmed by the awards they have won. I would definitely have no problem living and loving life in Cincinnati if I ever had the opportunity. This is with no bias only experience of someone visiting the great city of Cincinnati.

  • @TazJr That's great that you've found Cincinnati to be an enjoyable city. Though since you seem to be acquainted with statistics on Cincinnati, you're apparently aware that it has lost over 1/3 of its population in just over 50 years; 10% of that drop in population occurring in the previous decade alone. While my intention isn't to inculcate my beliefs in anyone else, don't you think there's something to those numbers? Why would people flee by the thousands from such an amazing city?

  • You're a really good photographer. I enjoyed. Thanks for sharing =)

  • When I was driving 18 wheelers thru here always would put this song on the city reminds me of NYC at night and sits on the river just like New York City!

  • where is Riverfront Stadium? that was always in the beginning clips of WKRP in Cincinnati

  • @ECWnWWF Riverfront Stadium was torn down many years ago. That was home to the "BIG RED MACHINE" of the 1970s. Today, the Cincinnati Reds play in "Great American Ballpark" which is also downtown.

  • great vid w/ extended song, but then you cut off the tail end as it trails off. :/

  • I love this area, born n raised in Northern Kentucky. People can say what they want. I will never ever leave here.

  • Thank you for posting this song. I love it!

  • I stay like three hours from there but it looks really nice. I want to get some footage og that area for my up and coming film.

  • @brelaproduction Kings Island Newport on the Levee Newport Aquarium

  • @tracisle3618 THANX!

  • While I was in Cincinnati, I ate lots of Skyline Chili. I love Cincinnati Chili.

  • Living in Cali now. Makes me hungry for Skyline Chili and La Rosa's pizza. I miss Cinci.....

  • Quit picking on Cincinnati. It is a beautiful city and it takes pride in its military people. I had a layover at that airport and the people are just as nice as they can be.

  • BTW, don't believe these people, it is like the twilight zone, once you move here you can't get away seriously. Methed out Norwood, Cracked out Fairmount and STD infested Lower Pricehill. I can keep going all day if you want, and btw if you don't believe me just watch the news lol. Matter afact a guy just went around giving HIV to people on purpose lol that was on Channel 5 today lol.

  • Cincinnati is nasty, I lived here all my life and I been around the world with the military, it is a very dirty ass city. Chicago is nicer in the south side compared to Cincinnati lol

  • One local author referred to the Queen City as Hudepohl Heaven. Another local celebrity didn't mind earning a living, but he loved to sell carpets!

  • whenever i cross the I 75 bridge northbound into the city this song instantly comes into my head and i either start to hum it or sing it. 1 of the best tv shows from the late 70's early 80's. i was just there this past weekend for horror hound my friends asked me what i was singing i told them and they said oh yeah i remember watching reruns of the show i tell em i watched 1st run episodes.

  • If your wondering what happened to Limmy.. well he's back in Scotland all happy and safe :)

  • @TraceyMariexx

    lol love it hahahah xxx

  • great song....great city shots!!!!!!

  • really good video thanks for the cincy memories =D

  • Thanks for your vid. Always had a great time in Cincinnati.

  • allergys all year long in cincinasty! real shit hole!

  • @giovannimerdoso ya right cincinnati is such a nice city. try living in cleveland

  • @clearpancho i don't like cincinasty!

  • As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly...

  • @ddavenport They can!

  • Didn't they demo river front stadium? It looked like it was in one of the photos? I could be wrong though.

  • @manga12

yeah they tore down river front stadium and built two new eyesores after both teams threatened to leave the city unless the taxpayers of Hamilton county paid to have the before said eyesores built.

  • I see, its a shame, that the new ones are eye sores, most of the new stadiums are built to look old though, but it costs more to build two of them, but eh what are you going to do except complain, the city usually does what it wants anyway.

  • RIP Gordon Jump. Although many say you still get up and move around at night.

  • a great tv theme.Thanks.

  • I was in Cincinnati a couple weeks ago. Went up to the Carew Tower Observation deck?

  • the singer's name is Steve Carlisle and is available on Timelife's "TV Themes of the 80's " CD from the Sounds of the 80s boxset.

  • I love this version. Much longer. Always did love the tv intro song. The guy singing has a nice voice. The music is nice too. Wonderful pics.

  • Wow who wouldnt love that city? It's beautiful!

  • Love the song, You'll look at 1:24...looks allot like the hall of justice from the superfriends !!

  • Great train station!

  • this video/audio makes me nostalgic for one of my home towns. my dad likes the cincinnati reds even though he lived in the cincinnati area for only about 2 years ( about 1969-1971 ). my dad was a fan of the cincinnati reds even before he moved to the cincinnati area. i lived in cincinnati ( including the city limits ) during much of the 1990s. cincinnati wkrp was a great show with a great theme tune. i believe that most domestic turkeys have had their wings clipped, thus making them flightlesss.

  • Don't care much for your comment.

  • I don't care much whether you care much for my comment or not.

  • I don't care that you don't care either.

  • Buddy of Buddy's Carpet passed away.

  • great fuckin job:-) awesome editing well done kudos:-)

  • Ah I kind of like this song from when I saw the show as a kid. and got friends in the city the places I wish to see if I were to visit though are in the over the rhine district which people who visited auburn for the auction at kruse tell me is the worst most crime ridden ghetto in the city. But there is still kings island to go see been years since I went there.

  • Oh gawd, remember the days when TV theme songs sounded like this. What a simpler time.

  • born and raised in cincinnati ohio and still live here love it

  • Wow!!!

Its great to see home!!! I miss it so much. There is no sight nicer then when you are comming from the airport , come thru the cut in the hill and see the city. its almost like when they come upon Oz.

  • I don't mind earning a living...BUT I LOVE TO SELL CARPET! Whatever happened to Buddy?

  • Who/what group sings this song? Thanks...

  • I like the rocking closing theme better

  • deep theme song often lost ina very funny klassik show.

  • Arthur Carlson: As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly

  • had some cincy chili, for supper!!!!

  • the video looks good could we try to do the show agagin and use this as the opening?

and have baily as the program director? and little "big guy" aka aurther carlson as the owner and CEO

  • memories helped me hide my lonesome feeling, far away from you and feeling low, it's getting late, my friend, my love, I miss you so, take good care of you, I've got to go

  • Comment removed

  • i grew up at 12 and vine in the early 60's and went to school at vine and liberty

  • wkrp is channel 25 across the river in kentucky

    it sucks.

  • I had a penpal lived out of Cincinatti in a place called Pleasant Plains. I haven't from him in 30 years.

  • Ahhhh Cincinnati, where the turkeys hit the ground like bags of wet cement!

  • Or where the wet bags of cement hit the ground like turkeys.

  • No, I meant parts in general downtown that weren't shown. Though Cincy is beautiful at night with all the lights, it's far from being clean like it used to be. Even surrounding suburbs. I would like to see a REAL cincy video.

  • where are the slums of Linn St. and the gross parts of Cincinnat???

  • I live in Cincinnati too! It's not quite as... pretty as all those pictures ha

  • I live in Cincinnati!

  • When I hear this song I start to have tears.

  • one of my fav progs

  • Would you rather they slam the door on you? You don't have any real reasons to stereotype Cincinnati citizens as phony, superficial, dumb or ignorant.

  • This is my stompin grounds

  • its home

  • Great tribute to my hometown! I still think its funny when people as me where WKRP was....I have to laugh and say "only on TV! It was a fictional radio station!" I think they should have made one just for the hell of it though!

  • I <3 THE NATI!!!

  • Good news everyone, if you have WGN, they're showing all the episodes with everything from the original airings intact :-)

  • Its odd because the show is actually pretty up beat with Johnny Fever and the gang...but man what a sad theme song wordwise ):

  • Glad that you " think of me once in awhile"

  • lol! I was thinkin of the show I think because on your profile it says cincinnati :) (s/p)

  • great vid...cincy looking great!!!!!

  • i loved tis show i wish they will brin it back on television

  • beautifull sad sad song

  • I agree, a sad song.

  • 30+ years later i still love this song... I grew up in brooklyn, ny and remember being mezmorized by the short views of cincinnatti when the song came on. I live about 1hr & 1/2 away now,and love driving through cincy, especially coming into the city from Kentucy. I'ts become one of- if not my favorite city. Cincinnatti is a beautiful city, especially at night !!!. The people are great too. I'm anxious to live there. One day I will. Thanks for posting this.

  • does anyone know who performs the opening and closing themes? i heard tell a rumor that the incomprehensible closer was the who. couldnt be! any way thank god for wgn. and tyvm for the completem lyrics.

  • Performed by Steve Carlisle

    Composed by Tom Wells

    Written by Hugh Wilson

  • Said to the bartender "Best night I ever had"

    Sang to the bar

Had a microphone in(to) her heart

    I said -

    Goodbye madam

I'd had a bird in hand

    I said - I'm doing good

And put love in her heart

  • I didn't see the pictures of the Great Thanksgiving Turkey Drop!

  • great video

  • living in nky and cinicinnati all my life looking how much it all changed great photos

  • Ah, the days when tv shows had their own theme songs. Ah, the days when they were good enough to have 'em!

This is an awesome job, Offroad! Makes me want to visit Cincinnati!

  • I'm a big baseball fan, and I'd love to see a game at Great American Ballpark someday-looks like it's a beautiful stadium.

  • Yes, I agree. Sounds like Les Nessman to me as well.

The 'nati would be so much cooler if only it could shake off all of those uptight, socially conservative pricks that live there.

  • I'm sure its not, but it sounds like Les Nessman singing this song.

  • The DVD's mentioned that he did in fact sing the lyrics. It was on the commentary to one of the shows.

  • Oh my God! It is Les Nessman! I never made the connection til I read your post. No doubt that it's him.

  • Someone please put all the episodes on youtube, I miss this show, I could watch it all the time...In early 2000's they had the reruns on the old TNN (The Nashville Network) till it changed to spike TV...TNN even had reruns of Dallas now it seams all we got is crap...Is there a cable channel that has these? If so let me know...Thanks...

  • If it is done make sure it is the shows put to tape before 1989 as the rights to use the songs are not good after that date. Any DVD made after that date is different with the actual songs by the original artists not included in each episode.

  • The "New" WGN out of Chicago is playing 2 episodes back-to-back on Saturdays. Early evening like from 6-7pm or around that time. Most cable systems carry WGN.

  • Great show . I was 7 years old in 1979 gas was not $3.45 a gallon . How time has changed . Gas price in 1979 $.85 a gallon

  • I remember when it was only about $1 a gallon, circa 1994... wow, it only went up $0.15 in 15 years? Now it jumps that much overnight!

  • The oil companys love it . We have George Bush to thank for this .

  • thank god we get rid of the bastard in november!!!! is it november yet???

  • you know what?

I live in Germany and one gallon costs right now 6$!!!

How can you still afford to have a car?

    Crazy!

So you guys in the US can be really lucky :-)

  • You are so right./ I tell these retards that we are living life over here. THey just dont understand. How can I tell them that it is a global thing?

  • Cool vid! these Cincinnati pics remind me of The Edge Of Night, an old soap opera that used the Cincinnati skyline in the opening credits from 1956-1983.

  • I was wondering if anyone else had thought about that too! :) I would always think of the EON credits of old, especially with that one pic, shot from the direction of the Brent Spence Bridge. :)

  • That's my hometown

  • @MissAshPYT I'm thinking of going there what are the best spots to go at?

  • @brelaproduction Check out some Cincy travel sites.

  • thanks for the great video..

  • That song fits well with the video! Thanks for this great video! : )

  • Absolutely beautiful! :)

  • This was really great ! It's the first time that I've heard the full leangth theme. Thanks for posting this.

  • This is Sweet, the theme song is what made me start watching WKRP and ths longer version is very nice! Thanx for the post.

  • If that isn't Richard Sanders singing, it sure could be...if it is, what a wonderful inside joke...the guy who can't and won't ever be cool has a very cool singing voice.

Whoever it is....this clip is a great piece of work. Thanks, cwby.

  • The song was composed by Tom Wells, lyrics by Hugh Wilson and sung by Steve Carlisle.

  • Great photos. Thanks for sharing!
