@RawkGawd3307 Cincinnati is a horrible city; one of the worst in the U.S. Every midwestern city is either insufferably boring, replete with crime, appallingly decayed, or all three. I'd rather live in the Bible-Belt than in crime-infested Cincinnati/Detroit/Chicago/St.Louis/etc., or in buttfuck nowhere Iowa surrounded by corn fields
Impugn it. My reasoning is I travelled 13 hours from Ontario, Canada to watch an NFL game and fell in love with the city with no intentions on it happening. I found what you had to say distasteful and what I interpreted the city to represent is affirmed by the awards they have won. I would definitely have no problem living and loving life in Cincinnati if I ever had the opportunity. This is with no bias only experience of someone visiting the great city of Cincinnati.
@TazJr That's great that you've found Cincinnati to be an enjoyable city. Though since you seem to be acquainted with statistics on Cincinnati, you're apparently aware that it has lost over 1/3 of its population in just over 50 years; 10% of that drop in population occurring in the previous decade alone. While my intention isn't to inculcate my beliefs in anyone else, don't you think there's something to those numbers? Why would people flee by the thousands from such an amazing city?
When I was driving 18 wheelers thru here always would put this song on the city reminds me of NYC at night and sits on the river just like New York City!
@ECWnWWF Riverfront Stadium was torn down many years ago. That was home to the "BIG RED MACHINE" of the 1970s. Today, the Cincinnati Reds play in "Great American Ballpark" which is also downtown.
Quit picking on Cincinnati. It is a beautiful city and it takes pride in its military people. I had a layover at that airport and the people are just as nice as they can be.
BTW, don't believe these people, it is like the twilight zone, once you move here you can't get away seriously. Methed out Norwood, Cracked out Fairmount and STD infested Lower Pricehill. I can keep going all day if you want, and btw if you don't believe me just watch the news lol. Matter afact a guy just went around giving HIV to people on purpose lol that was on Channel 5 today lol.
Cincinnati is nasty, I lived here all my life and I been around the world with the military, it is a very dirty ass city. Chicago is nicer in the south side compared to Cincinnati lol
whenever i cross the I 75 bridge northbound into the city this song instantly comes into my head and i either start to hum it or sing it. 1 of the best tv shows from the late 70's early 80's. i was just there this past weekend for horror hound my friends asked me what i was singing i told them and they said oh yeah i remember watching reruns of the show i tell em i watched 1st run episodes.
yeah they tore down river front stadium and built two new eyesores after both teams threatened to leave the city unless the taxpayers of Hamilton county paid to have the before said eyesores built.
I see, its a shame, that the new ones are eye sores, most of the new stadiums are built to look old though, but it costs more to build two of them, but eh what are you going to do except complain, the city usually does what it wants anyway.
this video/audio makes me nostalgic for one of my home towns. my dad likes the cincinnati reds even though he lived in the cincinnati area for only about 2 years ( about 1969-1971 ). my dad was a fan of the cincinnati reds even before he moved to the cincinnati area. i lived in cincinnati ( including the city limits ) during much of the 1990s. cincinnati wkrp was a great show with a great theme tune. i believe that most domestic turkeys have had their wings clipped, thus making them flightlesss.
Ah I kind of like this song from when I saw the show as a kid. and got friends in the city the places I wish to see if I were to visit though are in the over the rhine district which people who visited auburn for the auction at kruse tell me is the worst most crime ridden ghetto in the city. But there is still kings island to go see been years since I went there.
Its great to see home!!! I miss it so much. There is no sight nicer then when you are comming from the airport , come thru the cut in the hill and see the city. its almost like when they come upon Oz.
memories helped me hide my lonesome feeling, far away from you and feeling low, it's getting late, my friend, my love, I miss you so, take good care of you, I've got to go
heading up that highway, leaving you behind, hardest thing I ever had to do, broke my heart in two, but, baby, pay no mind, the price for finding me was losing you
No, I meant parts in general downtown that weren't shown. Though Cincy is beautiful at night with all the lights, it's far from being clean like it used to be. Even surrounding suburbs. I would like to see a REAL cincy video.
Would you rather they slam the door on you? You don't have any real reasons to stereotype Cincinnati citizens as phony, superficial, dumb or ignorant.
Great tribute to my hometown! I still think its funny when people as me where WKRP was....I have to laugh and say "only on TV! It was a fictional radio station!" I think they should have made one just for the hell of it though!
30+ years later i still love this song... I grew up in brooklyn, ny and remember being mezmorized by the short views of cincinnatti when the song came on. If it is done make sure it is the shows put to tape before 1989 as the rights to use the songs are not good after that date. Any DVD made after that date is different with the actual songs by the original artists not included in each episode.
The "New" WGN out of Chicago is playing 2 episodes back-to-back on Saturdays. Early evening like from 6-7pm or around that time. Most cable systems carry WGN.
Cool vid! these Cincinnati pics remind me of The Edge Of Night, an old soap opera that used the Cincinnati skyline in the opening credits from 1956-1983.
