  • I can see the use this thing has as a live tool... but in the studio it seems pretty redundant. and overpriced, too.

  • Wow he wears big pants haha

  • the best producer

  • Wats better, MPC, or this^^

  • What?,.....Of course this is, if one of the most amazing producers in the industry is using it.

  • @Nightclipse I hear what your saying but you don't have to wait for timbo to use ut for it to be good.

  • guarantee timbaland uses mpc too.

  • @Nightclipse yeah.. uhh.. some of the most amazing producers use MPC's too... so what?

  • i wud never have that over a 2000xl

  • OMG each and everyone of you is wrong. Learn your lesson kids, no one comes close to DJ Premier. If so only a select few as Pete Rock, J DIlla, 9th Wonder to name some, but honestly, NO ONE CAN MATCH THE SKILLS AND INOVATIONS OF DJ PREMIER, PERIOD!

  • seriously? how can you be so shure? do you know every single dj in the world?

  • @Francosteiner i do agree that they are great producers, but for the most part they are all sample based, which requires alot less skill.

  • that's your opinion Francosteiner. It's a matter of taste. Primo is good (ofcourse he is) but Primo can't do TImbo's shit, and Timbo can't do Primo's shit. Period.

  • @Francosteiner man timbo and dj premier it's two different things, how you can compare them, dj premier it's more like new york oldschool ghetto beats and timbo it's more dancing style.

  • duude seriously plug the thing in and lets see you use it.

geez tim, go get some OJ

  • thank you hanson

    music producing is damn hard

i've been making music for a little over a year and i'm still learning a lot of new shit

and everybody stop comparing who the best producer is

everybodys opinions are ganna be different based on their location

i live in the west coast so i think dr dre is the best

but i don't think he's far infront of everybody

to me he is a 10 and timbo is a 9.9

stop picking who's beats to listen to and start enjoying every beat

enjoy the beat over the song

  • People don't realize how hard producing music really is until you try it, it's so hard making things sound professional. It takes forever to edit your stuff. It's real fun wants you accomplished a beat, But you got to work your ass off.

  • its individual, somes can try a lifetime and wont get something together that fits together

  • Timbaland is dope, Dre is dope, anyone who makes their own music is dope. Heck I use a yamaha but the NeKo and MiKo are dope.

  • WHo best how worst? We dotn care... They make creative music.. that is rare today..

  • tim's one of my inspirations,,,,he's very creative,and a cool dude!

  • I think dr.dre is 1st, tim might be somewhere like 4th or 5th. Ok yeah he did revolutionise music for like one whole year and that was him n justins era. But dre come on, that guys has made hit after hit, for 50, snoop and cube oh and eminem. just mentioning those 4 artists is a list of artists who have become heavy-weights of this music industry.

  • timv=balands been in the game at least 15 yrs

  • i don't care what yall say. nobody better then the neptunes. they are not only great producers but real muscians that actually play CHORDS.

  • u forget about ryan leslie

  • oh you fa*no seriously you obviously have no idea of making music

you know that even timbaland is using chrods when putting a melody on the backround?

you know that it takes a lot to make music and even mix it up at the same time like timbaland does and not just by some sidekick fag...

I'm doing punkrock and metal-core and I love listening to his his music and I can tell you he knows twice as much about music making as the neptunes does...

so please chose your words wisely before posting shit

  • The Neptunes are excellent, but for me Jam and Lewis are the greatest. I know it's a different era, let's see whether today's music is listened to in 20 years time.

  • Yea...they are really good. Janet, cece bebe. shaka chan...

  • I like MF DOOM, Madlib, RZA, David Banner and Kool Keith

  • lets not forget about all the hot shit he did for aaliyah ginuwine missy but him and dre are totally different no point in comparing

  • what about pac NWA ect

  • Well I'll agree Dre is good, but Timbaland has changed hip-hop/R&Bs whole genre of music. He's created a whole new style and he's done it more then once.

  • Whoa whoa! That statement is SO untrue! Timbaland Revolutionized R&B not hip hop. Dre was the man behind the revolution of hip hop and the biggest part of what it is today. Any hip hop record's formula of aggressive nature, violent content, and candid depictions of the ghetto and it's hardships can be traced back to Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A which was DRE's production...not Timbo. I'm not trying to come off as disrespectful, but i can NOT believe you said that.

  • Listen to "Forgot About Dre" thats the only argument I need.

  • you guys seem to know lot about beats. Can u guys giv me opinions on my beats? I have some on video so far, and over 50 on soundclick.

I just cant tell if mine are good or not cuz i made them. thnx alot guys

  • I like Swizz first.Tim second.. but Tim is most def aruguebly th greatest.and i dnt wanna hear no damn kanye or dr.dre being talked about no more..Kanye not enough hits and where has dre been these last 5 years?answer that question corectly then we can keep talking

  • OK Number One You Are Right Timbo is The Best But Haven't You Heard 808's Heartbreaks By Kanye I Think He Did Aight Yo!:p

  • i don't care if dre hasn't made a whole lot of beats in the past 5 years. his old stuff still beats 85% of the beats that come out now. you can't talk about the greatest without mentioning the dre's, neptunes, and timbalands.

  • LOL at the story of how Open Labs was founded. He said: "I sold my Lamborghini Diablo...."

So....the key to founding one's own successful music software company is to start with a 100K+ car and go from there.

  • lmao

  • Dave Frank and Mic Murphy of the System from the 80's would have killed it now if they still did their science lab thing.

    They were real synth madmen.

    Old school shit rules.

    Ask Jimmy Douglas!!

    Still like Tim though.

  • I met mista Timbo yesterday. an let me tell you the dude is always sick. I swear

  • you met someone once and your gonna say that? if your on the road for like a year straight constantly shaking peoples hands ect. you have to fight alot of new germs....

  • lol

  • how can i find out what equipment and plug-ins pro producers use and where do they get their sounds?

  • He was awesome with Aaliyah or Ginuwine .... his top level of performance

  • Timbaland HIS THE BEST COMPOSER IN THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dr. Dre Needs his own edition too....

  • CHEK OUT MY NEKO ON MY PAGE

  • CHECK OUT MY TIMBALAND NEKO ON MY PAGE

  • Neptunes are my favorite but Timb, Swizzy, Dre, JustBlaze, etc... are all legends! PERIOD

  • I don't know about the "best in the world" argument. Consistency, enjoyability, longevity - easier to pinpoint for me.

All of these producers at some point or other (and on more than a single occasion) have created something that is way out of this world - otherworldy - and that takes me out my mind - grips my heart - lifts my spirits and has me marveling about "how did he do that?" while I'm listening to the music - lost in space - but grounded too...

  • man dont yall get it tiberland is great, dre is great, kanye is great, neptunes, etc... they just have slightly diff styles!! you gonna compare these great with a coupla beats???

    they are all sick!! cheers

    CHoi

  • Nely "El Arma Secreta" is the best producer ever. He helped turn reggaeton into what it is today. He mixes many styles of hip-hop into reggaeton and comes out phenomenal. Stargate are also the best, they produced "Closer" by Ne-Yo and a lot more hits.

  • u cant forget bout stargate.they are defintely up there

  • I always thought timbaland was justin timberlake, lol

anyways all that music sounds the same

  • timbaland > justin timberlake

  • hate to admit it but, hell yeah lol

  • There's absolutely no one touching Timbaland. He's the most innovative and creative producer I've ever heard in my life. He 'll take a sound from anywhere and record it as a beat. Dre is a close second followed by Jermaine Dupri. Kanye and the Neptunes aren't far behind. Timbo is the king!!!!

  • what about swiss beats?

  • what about polow da don ? he makes the sickest beats like love in this club . one of the most creative beats i have ever heard come from him i put him 1st timb 2nd

  • ummm idk about that timbaland is WAYYYYYY BETTER LOL

  • polo da don made love in the club with premade samples.

  • Dre is good but not the best Timbo, Neptunes and Kanye are the best in the world. Period!

  • filharmonic is the best

  • DRE. tha best producer ever...

    than it's David Banner

  • I believe Fred looked away from Timbaland as he was speaking; I suggest paying full attention to the 140 IQ producer during interviews.

  • cool

  • wow everything in one! I betta start saving so I can produce my music proper! :)

    xXx

  • they make those down the street...from my house.

they got a 24k one solid gold..

  • Timbaland & Ryan Leslie need 2 get together

  • tim bo the king is the BEST!!!! next 2 me

but how much is one of those miko's or neko's or whatever it call

  • 5000 dollars to be precise

  • 3.5 grand

  • ive seen em on ebay for around $4000

  • DRE and TIMBALAND are the best producers in this world!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • word but dre's got the edge

  • if your saying timbalands the best ur sayin danjas the best

  • True True

  • dre has been majing beats for over 20 years n been consistent with it, timbaland has recently from past 2-3 years come out as a great producer even though he's been producing since 96.

but I agree that timbalands creativity is suerior than dre's, although tim samples in some way from nearly every song he has recorded lol

he still is good at what he does tho

  • thing is, Dre Dre has always done legends, timbo is good, but he just deals with plastic-rappers now.

think about it, Fat Joe?? c'mon now. Fat Joe is not a great rapper. He's famous yeah, but c'mon.

  • alot of dre hits aren't even productions. look at the song g thang. that was a COMPLETE sample. Alot are samples from dre.

  • Its still a production, "composition" may be the word ure looking for

  • timbo has been a super producer for a lot longer than 2 or 3 years lol

  • kanye? RZA?

  • rza is the best

  • Yeah right neptunes is killin dre.

  • I was at that DALLAS CONCERT they're talkin about! Justin Timberlake FSLS. It was GREAT! I'll never for get it, WOOOH!!!

  • I play guitar, abit of keyboard, sing and write my own stuff. I want give a hip hop or r n b flavour to some of my songs. Can anyone tell me what production equipment i sud get?

  • would suggest going into a studio if you have never produced before. but if you good equipment is this the neko, mackie mixers, an mpc,and like 2 or 3 clear mikes. and a few other things.

  • only DR. DRE's sikker!

  • DAMN look at that MIkO I checked it out its like $

    4,299

  • but worth every penny!!

  • daaaayuuuumn timbo sounds pretty rough take some medicine my duuude peace

  • the softwear is protools and logic

  • nope, its actually a Pc running XP with openlabs skin.

Music software shown in openlabs demo video are cubase and reaper.

  • does any1 know what software this machine comes with 2 record in?

  • whatever you want. i guess it comes with cubase as standar or something. but you can put EVERY software in it you want... that's what makes it great!

  • hmm, well i'd disagree. There's many s/w out there that use's specific hardware or dsp cards, and some s/w such as logic is platform specific to osx and pyramix is platform specific to windows os'.. pro tools needs digi hardware, SADiE use's its own hardware...

  • it comes with sonar le

  • hes so cassual lol sweats and t shirt allways. its like hes bout to fall asleep

  • jajajajajajjaja word

  • haha..

Anyone actually seen any producers use that "thing" for real??

  • Hhahahaha!! nope.. I'm still on Reason 3.0...
