the Honda Insight Hybrid is only $19K with $7.5K incentives let say its down to around $12K or so..and its available now not some science project of the future

i think it would be absolutely possible to swap the engine/generator for additional batterypacks. Which would result in better mileage at the same weight. This could be the future for an extended daily use.

if you remove the 1.4 liter chevy aveo engine on the Volt then you can call it an electric car.

sold car for a couple of years, 40 k for a family sedan (basically that is what it is) is very high. if they can get that car somewhere around 20 to 30 k, then they have a hit. however, most cars I sold are the ones with 20 to 25 price tag because can can do a 4k down and 250 to 300 per month. they had to lift the car higher than the original concept is simply because it is easier to go over bumps. if the car is too low, problems exist

"Volt electrifies fans"? Who came up with that title? The Volt concept car (estimated $30K price) was cool, but the Volt production car (estimated $40K to $48K) is hideous and bland. Nobody is going to pay $40K to $48K for a vehicle that automobile critics have dubbed "Grandma's electric vehicle". You can get TWO Toyota Prius cars for the price of the one Volt.

its a hybrid though the petrol engine does not power the wheels directly.

it has a 1.4 liter Petrol engine same as the one on the CHEVY AVEO

they keep skirting using the "HYBRID" description because all the volt is just another hybrid with a different system than existing ones on the road but regardless it IS a HYBRID !
