I returned home from Desert Shield/Storm 21 years ago this St Patrick's Day. I am still serving and have been on 4 deployments in three different wars and this song is as powerful today as it was 21 years ago, It still makes me cry today, Its too bad celebs couldn't do something now. I thought this video was as good if not better then We Are The World, only because of the number of people they got involved. The husband and wife who did this didn't have a lot of pull like a Michael Jackson or Quincy Jones. See a very young Celine Dion sing her heart out was amazing. It meant a great deal that people weren't just sitting at home not giving a crap! Not everyone is cut out for the military! But, that doesn't make them bad people! Everyone has their own way of supporting our country and it's people and bringing peace to this world!

este video, este gran tema, sin importar las causas, el transfondo por la cual se produjo tuvo muy poca trascendencia a comienzos de los noventas. Eso no significa que fue decepsionante, muy por el contrario se puede decir que fue el "We are the world" de los noventas pero con una magnitud bastante relevante por la participacion de varios conocidos actores de los ochentas.

what an awful song, celebrities getting together and doing what they do best NOTHING of value, what a horrible horrible song, just shudders down my spine, every awful no talent hack is part of this, just horrific, however I still gave it five stars because it's so bad it's good and I want others to see the kind of trite BS people do to pretend like they care so they dont actually have to do anything real

I remember when this song came out. It touched me so much. During that time was my first look at war in which I was old enough to understand what was going on. Beautiful song!

Thank you so much for posting that. I absolutely loved it. I have a brother who is over there now so this really touched home with me. My oldest was there during the 100 day war. Ya know...I didn't realize that was Will Smith when I very first heard this song. I just learned it the other day while I was watching this video and reminiscing. I also didn't know that Randy Travis and Garth Brooks sang in the song either. You can barely hear them.
