  • I like this from when I first heard it.

  • The 70's doing it again. Im so glad I am a 70's girl and grew up listening to this music. I hope I can bring back this feeling of the 70-80's in my own music today :(

  • Hey Dan Hill if you watchin Gieco rip you looks for that caveman Sue them Gieco sure glad i not with thee i use state farm for car insurance

  • the string section was napping

  • Seven people are idiots

  • LOL!! Yeah, I know bro.... Just an observation. Those of us who were once (self perceived) flashy dressing rock stars back in the day, look like these guys now. And Sometimes When We Gig...... we end up wearing what we wore to work yesterday! Can you feel me?? The kryptonite of youth wears away eventually....to some degree!!!!

  • What's funny is that this was performed by real musicians. The emotional garbage from the last 30 years was stolen.....sorry, borrowed from this.

  • Dan Hill has a good case against Geico for their obvious "rip off" of his original cave man look!

  • The City of Poughkeepsie Public Works All Star band!!!! What a bunch of boring ass regular looking guys!!! They're not even cool enough to be session musicians!! LOL

  • @rjarcusa - Applying modern marketing values to a 1977 promo clip, are we?

The look don't make the music, man.

  • @ 3:14 - I've never seen such intense passion!

  • I thought it was Counting Crows,...the early years.

  • This is the only song I can think of that's I've ever bought a greatest hits album for just one song. And I'm into hard rock and metal.

  • If you guys see another videos of him you will see he looks decent. This song is awesome closed your eyes and listen to it or feel in love with someone and you will feel this marvelous song!

  • Are meant to believe he's touched anyone?! Hahahahaha.

  • Mannn,if thats not a GEICO CAVEMAN then I will eat my hat! Is this the original dude that done this tune? All my respects to him because he is a great singer but.....damn Geico had to see this and kicked off the entire Ad Campaign from this vid.The man is a great singer but it was just that time in history when people had that kind of hair style.1 to 10,he is way past 10. Fantastic! The 70's will never be again and many thanks to the person that keeps it alive,no singer today could touch this.

  • @profsat5 yes he is the original singer.

  • @profsat5 What's kind of ironic about that is Geico, before they started the caveman ads, is that they played this in a commercial where the gecko and a girl were in this big scene where they were having romantic moments with this in the background.

  • I didn't know Will Farrell played the piano...

  • I'll bet he could chew the leg off a Tyrrannasurus Rex with those teeth!!!

  • oh shit that caveman comment is priceless!

  • Though I love this music, it always severely depresses me because it reminds me so much of times I miss & I don't know if I'll ever be able to let the past go like I should.

  • Let's hear it for Stephen King on piano, Harold Ramis on electric guitar, Cam from Modern Family on drums, Russell Brand on electric keyboard, your local wife beater on acoustic guitar, and of course, the Geico Caveman on vocals!

  • I watch this dude singing ....and I wanna go out and switch car insurance...

  • Great memories. Haven't heard this song since it was popular. Thanks for posting it, now I can listen whenever I want.

  • He looks like a girl I used to work with.

  • Sappy, trite, mundane; poor songwriting.

  • I graduated from high school in 77, Those were golden years.

  • He looks like a skinny Detective Flass from Batman Begins.

  • I absolutely love this song!! Looks like he should be on an Auto Insurance commercial!

  • hes half schwartz.

  • Either he is the most prolific lip singer or this is the real dea. as a vocalsit I say its real!

  • Dan Hill was STONED outta his mind when he sang this, check out the glazed eyes. Rock on stoners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is a beautiful song...

  • @dmarie0791 HAHA thanks.. I'm pretty sure you are amazing too!

  • Comment removed

  • @IdahoRush14 Ha,too funny!

  • lmao!! GEICO!!!

  • One of those songs that could be pulled out dusted off and made a number one hit again today. TIMELESS TALENT!

  • Is that Elvis on the drums ?

  • @Beernthongs no its your momma with her Dorthy Hamil haircut

  • @gHoStsOfTheHollow why the bad attitude ?

  • @gHoStsOfTheHollow whats wrong..you can dish it out but you cant take it? obviously you are not talking about the 50s or 60s Elvis or the 73 Elvis.. funny that Elvis had looks 99.9% of his life but its the one year he was obviously not healthy that ppl poke fun at..

  • Even an caveman can sing.

  • Cameron on drums. Hilarious.

  • Wow. This cat was so sensitive, even his hair hurt.

  • today's music suck's!!!compared to raw pure music..vocal and istrumental..

No lip sinsinkin no tone touch up.raw talent....nice

  • The guy on drums is Cameron from Modern Family

  • 1:17 looks like Ben Folds

  • I'd like to get a taste of Dan Hill's longer fuse!

  • get the fuck out of here if you think Pacquiaos version is better then this, he cant even sing. the only version that is even bearable of Pacquiaos is the studio version. Watch any live version and youll want to shoot your brains out.

  • the drummer is playing YYZ.

  • Pacquiao is Good too!

  • he sould of be in we are the world

  • This song/video represents the exact moment in 20th century history when long hair would no longer be considered rebellious or radical.

  • PRESS 5... "EATS TOO MUCH"

  • the Revenge Of the Nerds cast put together a band

  • look at young chris farley over there on the drums

  • Ok....now....EVERYONE WATCH MANNY PACQUIAOS VERSION!!!!!!!

  • i would not believe this voice comes from this guy if i didnt see it .

  • Pacman's version is a bit better.

  • @josh92997 iTS SAYS iN CANADA dUMBASS

  • Its so easy A caveman can do it!

  • he looks like rafi from the league

  • One ugly motherfucker. He has an amazing voice though.

  • ouch

  • Pacquiao version is much better if you want some funny stuff LOL

  • @josh92997 I prefer Manny's version too...Maybe because it is Manny! lol

  • what is this guy's nationality?

  • This guy would have never won American idol . It just shows u how superficial we are these days. What happened to all the good music ?

  • Ahhhh - this is the BEST! Shame about the sound on the tube

  • Cool drummer face 3:14

  • Longer Fuse is a kick ass album. Should have won the Grammy, instead that no talent Elton John won.

  • Wow, it's wonderful to see the originator, writer and real singer of such a beautiful and timeless classic; Dan Hill, that was just amazing! Just one of your great collection!

  • Is that Randy Savage?

  • HAHA! Millions of hits!

  • the drummer bought into the Chesterfried franchise at the beginning. He's a millionaire now and won't even speak to Dan Hill.

  • @hmillernin Only in your fantasies.

  • @Supermassively true.

  • fuck all the hater!

  • @dtc2125 I hate you.

  • ...it never fail to amaze me how small minded people are; here is a great song, great vocals and all that some people see is the beard and hair.

  • So, you see i've got a friend who plays some keyboard and he would love to be in studio. Yeah, i know we already have three keyboardist, but listen here cat, it would really set us apart!

  • okay...... did anyone else get a massive erection from looking at the drummer?

  • 3:13-3:17 lol

  • 1:17 Looks like a Will Ferrell character

  • You ask me if I love you And I choke on my reply I'd rather hurt you honestly Than mislead you with a lie And who am I to judge you On what you say or do? I'm only just beginning to see the real you And sometimes when we touch The honesty's too much And I have to close my eyes and hide I wanna hold you til I die Til we both break down and cry I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
  • Manny Pacquiao sings it better

  • Look, it's the caveman!

  • Dan Fouts circa '79 at 1:34.

  • the drummer died of a heart attack during a live performance in Athens, Greece in '82. R.I.P. Randell Birmingham Jr.

  • its so easy even a caveman can do it

  • He's got a real Adam Duritz kind of vibe. Also, is that Ben Folds in a wig on the piano?

  • dan hill looks like a scrub. lol

  • i saw Hill live in '78 and the drummer broke into a fifteen minute solo at the end of the song.

  • david cross!

  • remind me of my old wife man i miss her

  • Geez, you'd think the drummer is playing Tom Sawyer or something.

  • Great singing. Did he write it? I see he can't play the piano. Neither can I, but....

  • This song is beautiful...who cares what he looks like? It's his TALENT that counts. Stop showing everyone how insecure, childish and superficial your being with these remarks.

  • This song is just another example of the brilliant song writers we had in the 70's,find a song now with the same heart and soul poured into it.....you wont be able to!

  • Great song!!! Song's like this, aren't written anymore. Shame.

  • (screams) oh my goodness....can't get better than this

  • Why can't people write songs like this today? Seems like something was lost over the years.

  • Drummer is really getting into it

  • Bobby Ogdin-piano, Don Potter-acc guitar, Larrie Londin-drums

  • I was about to make a Gieco comment, but then I realized everyone said the same joke.

  • Omg!!! Yes!!! Geico Caveman! At Geico auto insurance, can 15 minutes save you hundred on auto insurance? Well...can a caveman sing a love song???

  • @supernigwig or Manny Pacquiao

  • @supernigwig that made my year!!! LMFAO

  • @supernigwig I was thinking the same damn thing! hahaha

  • @supernigwig Lol! It took me a while to get your comment because Dan Hill sings so well, but now I'm ROFLMAO!! We need the Geico Lizard to sing background.

  • @supernigwig Shame on me, I thought the same thing :( GORGEOUS song tho.

  • @supernigwig lmaoff

  • hey, since when does the geico cave man sing? lol

  • WOW brought back many memories its nice to see a song performed in its raw version it brings out the best in the music. thank you very much for this video

  • Steve O's dad?

  • Such talent! Such crazy hair!

    Those were the 70's...

  • I'd never heard this song until a few years ago. I had a friend who acquired a collection of seventies songs, and this song was one of the songs on it. I didn't like it at first, but as I listened to it more often, I began to like it. I still like it to this very day. I just wish my local radio stations would play it more often.

  • get a shave

  • is that studio legend Larrie Londin on drums?

  • @jeffkahl

It sure is. And Bobby Ogden on piano.

  • Has anyone noticed that the radio stations and also the satellite radio, specifically cut out a big portion of the song from 2:45-3:14. Just my observation!

  • So easy, a caveman could do it.
