You guys say this band are the best band in 20 years and the next Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, etc., and as good as the rest of bands out of Canada like Rush, the Guess Who. BTO, etc. etc. but in reality they are so unoriginal, simplistic, and best can be described as, 'Garagebandish'. This song here is so boring and unoriginal I can't even listed to more than 15 seconds of it. I just finished listening to some 38 Special Live here on You Tube, and when I put on this I cringed it was so boring.
@ASurvivor1 Your need to be entertained and dazzled every second isn't allowing you the oppurtunity to relax and listen to a good band lay down some classic rock inpsired tracks. Isn't tinkering with something to make it sound original kind of futile?
@ASurvivor1 ok, we could argue whether hes any good or not, but i think we can bot agree on the fact that a rick and ampeg are a killer combination :D
@MoPower2112 Yes. I had a 1976 4001 Rick and sold it in '79 to buy a '73 Fender P Bass. I just bought a new Ricky 4003 Mapleglo brand new from Musician's Friend for $1006. Can you believe that deal? I still have the '73 Fender P, AND a 1964 Fender Custom Shop Jazz Relic, but I've been playing the Rick all the time now. I run it through an Ampeg SVT-15E and an Avatar B212 powered by a GK Fusion 550. It sounds so awesome.

@packit420420 Blah blah hipster gunna hipster, hatester gunna hatester... yeah I think we've all heard it before. Just by your "real lovers of music" statement I find myself questioning what a real lover of music is? Anyway, please consider looking at what you're really trying to say here (elitist much?) and try to realize that it's stupid. BTW on the subject of stoners, you have obviously never listened to Modest Mouse-Dramamine. And KoL I don't care much for tbh. Sorry, I just had to respond.
I like these guys, kinda like the Jeff Heally band I think, not quite the talent on lead guitar but soundwise I would like to here them do" Angel come down" I think they could seriously play with that! great band from God's country
Why are you watching Project Runway????Maybe im listening to the wrong band if you guys are able to sit there and watch that shit and now your listening to Sheepdogs???? I hate how the people io hate end up finding about bands i like,,,LAME hop off the band wagon and go listen to your modern day bull shit like Kings of Leon.. tools....Packit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You hate people finding out about bands you like? You are the biggest hipster I have ever come across. Y oudon't own them. Others are allowed to listen to them. Besides, whats wrong with them getting publicity from Project Runway? Now their name will get out there even more, and they could really hit it big. And that's what a great band like this deserves. If you were a true fan, you wouldn't care who listened to them. Youd just be happy that they've gotten the fame they deserve.
@qwertyroffle hahahah shutup. they can bring back any music they want. maybe they dont wanna listen to the shitty rap and pop songs people been playing now a days. get out of here. dont comment if your gonna hate. go sheepdogs.
Heard the song "I don't know " for the first time today on the radio in halifax ....These guys fucking rock man!!! Nice to hear some new musicians that actually play instruments and still have that classic rock sound!! I will be buying there cd tomorrow!!
Maybe you can ask them why they resort to recycling music from the 70s instead of *innovate* or do something *NEW*, which ideally should be the purpose of creating music.
Songs of this quality wouldn't have even charted in the 70s. I guess they're riding the gravy train set out by new bands like the Black Keys.
Sadly these guys are probably doing if for the niche market and probably listen to progressive metal in their free time.
@qwertyroffle You're an idiot. The 'new creation' you call most of current music would have been laughed at in the 70's. I'm 25 but I can guarantee these guys would have been looked at. I'm not saying we have the next Led Zeppelin on our hands, but god damn they're so much better than any crap you may be referencing. Heaven forbid new artists learn to play instruments, write good songs and have a good sound. Rather than letting a computer generate it for them.
The next zepplin? hardly...maybe the next Bad Company..not saying it as a bad thing..this band rocks! it's about time harmony and melody got back into rock..I say these dudes fit the bill nicely
@Insibiat No I wasn't saying they're the next Zep. We're both agreeing this is a great new band to listen to; so that's a good thing. But I was careful to not proclaim them to be the next anybody, just themselves.
@qwertyroffle hahaha you are such a loser. maybe read up a bit on them, even if as far as you get is the article in the rolling stone. these guys have worked their asses off to get to where they are, they've been playing music their entire lives and as a band together for years. i'd love to say more but you're just not worth it haha
I hear that StyleEt...it was CCR with my Dad...he taught me what real music was..I can't wait to turn him onto this!
Apparently they were on Project Runway..good on them... I never saw it..first I heard was on my local radio 94X out of Prince George BC...I guess "I Don't Know" is starting to break...I heard that and wanted more though..started searching all I could about The Sheepdogs..YEAH!
Best new band I've heard in ages- who cares I found them on project runway. I was having some "mommy" time. Most new bands suck but not these guys I love the classic rock blues feel
I really like how despite the fact that a lot pf ppl saw em on project runway(me too!) no long time fans are getting pissy about it.Like it does not matter where you hear it so long as you recognize the awesome music when you do.Every fan has to start somewhere and who gives a shit if you heard them by accident, through a friend, because of a commercial,or because of a tv show/movie.I think that it is awesome so many ppl realize good music when they hear it and I think that should be celebrated
I think you guys are so good! i love your style!! amazing!!! <3 i saw you on project runway and i had to look you up! i am def gonna look more into you guys!! :D you have amazingg voices and are very talented!
ewan currie you are good. I really hope this band has the initiative, intuitiveness, and wherewithall to keep developing what they're doing. God knows we need them! 6-7 years of touring and not being signed is a pretty good demonstration of determination. I don't know where these guys are at the moment, i really hope the Rolling Stone thing did some things for them.
It is quite obvious why these boys won the Rolling Stone Cover Contest....Ryan the girls have always been at the door knocking and Ewan, your voice is for me totally comparable to Mark Lanegan...Like an angel singing!!!! Love you guys...Keep rocking!!!! Will be at every show that is close by!
Here's what's interesting about the Sheepdogs: they're a Canadian band that sounds a lot like they're from the southern US - you might recall "The Band", another Canadian band that sounded like they came from the south. Also, they happen to sound a lot like the Guess Who, a band from another prairie province (Manitoba), who wrote a song called "Runnin' Back to Saskatoon" in the early 70's. The Sheepdogs happen to be from Saskatoon.
This is the first song I've heard of theirs. For me, the harmonies make me wanna listen. Good standard southern rock anthem with a badass harmony. The backing vocalist deserves mad props for being the sheepdogs' mike anthony.
It's good to see a band like that all most everyone sports a beard. Second, it's good change to see a band that isn't from New York or Los Angeles, but from Saskatoon. I raise my devil horns to you Sheepdogs. Hail from Russia!
I haven't been this excited about new music for years, years, years!!!!! I love these guys. Of course, I'm an Allman Brothers', CCR, Lynard Skynard, Dead, Guess Who fan....so sweet....in the face of the shit that is our shit society of American Idol....xo
holy shit! Heard these guys for the first time yesterday from SW Ontario, and just had to youtube them. They fucking ROCK! They are exactly what I've been waiting, and waiting for, for fucking years man!
Folk from the prairies know how to rock out! Fuck yeah now where to I buy their album :) \m/
I was 13 when the 70s came to an end, but the 80s never resonated with me. I've listened to 70s rock from childhood to present day. I never expected to hear a
convincing revival like the Sheepdogs What a blast !
@RealCanadianBassist Amazing that you decided to make this comment. See, I don't know you, so I couldn't care less whether you can go or not. Weird how that works, huh?
Growing up as a kid, I never appreciated the musical taste of my father. The talent, the style, the groove, the SOUND. But as Ive grown older, matured, and come into my own, Ive realized what music WAS back then and IS right now. I now appreciate the sheer presence of a band like the Sheepdogs because it brings me closer to him. Whether were in the car with the Stones at full volume or drinking beers in the backyard with the Doobie Brothers blarin, my infinite taste for classic rock isdue to him
Just got my monthly dose of RollingStone yesterday...all I can say is Canadians ROCK!!! Im a Michigander myself and my Husband is pure Canadian....Stuck in the 70s?...When did 70s music ever end? Never!!!!!!!ROCK ON SHEEPDOGS!
Not only am I proud to be a Canadian...I'm rushin' off to grab me a fat spliff!...Damn these guys are good!.............

The Sheepdogs happen to be from Saskatoon.
maxtaffey 6 months ago
@maxtaffey and at the saskatoon jazz festival they did a live cover of it as an encore. one of the best concerts ive ever been to.

This is the first song I've heard of theirs. For me, the harmonies make me wanna listen. Good standard southern rock anthem with a badass harmony. The backing vocalist deserves mad props for being the sheepdogs' mike anthony.

good job guys, keep it up,,,

It's good to see a band like that all most everyone sports a beard. Second, it's good change to see a band that isn't from New York or Los Angeles, but from Saskatoon. I raise my devil horns to you Sheepdogs. Hail from Russia!

These guys are on the right track to how music should sound today. All we need is to bring it back, and let people appreciate it again.

I was 13 when the 70s came to an end, but the 80s never resonated with me. I've listened to 70s rock from childhood to present day. I never expected to hear a
convincing revival like the Sheepdogs What a blast !
