@LaserN00B Fedor & Diaz sucked & boxing, just Like Kj Noons. Anderson Silva is arguably the greatest mma fighter but was 1-1 in boxing. He was KO'd in the 1st round. Didn't Tim Sylvia get KO'd by a over the hill boxer in like 12 seconds?
@doeboy84 Anderson Silva lost by TKO in the 2nd Round allegedly. That fight hasn't been verified and there is no existing footage of it. This was before Silva competed in MMA. He lost one of his early MMA fights as well. Anderson has greatly improved as a fighter. Freddie Roach says he has some of the best Boxing in MMA.
@MysticNinjaJay Actually he was already competing in MMA when he made his debut in boxing against Teixeira who was 11-2 at the time. He was a little kid & fought a tough match for his debut.
@Immortalsyn83 Yeah I forgot about the extra fights they uncovered that are dated to 1997. You are correct. I noticed myself that his opponent was older and had more experience than Anderson. Silva's camp haven't mentioned this Boxing match. For all we know he could have had other Boxing matches we don't know about, just like the other MMA fights. Silva wasn't a star back then so the public didn't follow his career closely.
@Stavol2Dual you do know the Inoki/Ali fight was a staged fight. The problem was that they agreed not to do certain things, kicks being 1 of them. @DvonJames51 r u kidding, boxing is way bigger than mma you're a tool Pacquiao mayweather the biggest fight out there. no mma fight can match that period. that's why boxing stars makes hundreds of millions while mma guys make like 250 k a fight

Im just going to say this, Rampage Jackson a UFC fighter can step in a boxing Ring and win, he dosnt have much of a Wrestling game of any other besides just punches, and but Idk any boxer who can step in the Cage tho, but still respect both sports but i like watching UFC is more Entertaining
UFC is its own lable yall look stupid az fuck U mean mma vs boxing Both sports are shitty and have shitty fighters and mma fighters get paid low pay anyways Your still struggling to live its not like your gonna turn out to b an anderson silva or and st pierre and boxing the main 2 boxers will never fucking fight Prize fighter is bull sht sport anyone can prize fight Tf
And get paid shit to risk the life. James Toney came in there and knew he was gonna loose and still got paid more. Fuck mma they be robbing the fuck fighters
Fuck MMA, Fuck Boxing. UFC isn't a sport, why is it UFC vs Boxing dumb asses. Fuck MMA mma is for pussys that suck dick and cant fight. Pussies just wrestle when they know they can fight. Fuck mma.
@sportsnation88 Like I said, you're too stupid to insult. Wanna be fake ass tough guy. Insulting every kind of contact sport, and calling people pussies online. Dumb ass 23 year old kid.
@titoortiz You probably don't even fight Your prolly dream about thinking about being a prize fighter even though that's a not a good career choice especially MMA not gettin enough money to live off of
@maximumradnesss LOL, Shut the fuck up kid. Learn how to fucking spell before you try to insult someone, because you just make a bigger ass out of yourself. Quit trying to be a tough guy online you little fucking grasshopper.
@titoortiz Why would I care about making an ass out of myself on youtube? I dont show out for bitch ass faggots like you on the net. Your not the first one who has tried to call someone out for their spelling on youtube, im not in school you ugly fucking bitch.
@titoortiz We aren't having a spelling bee, you dumb fuck. You could read what he said so shut the fuck up, and come back with a better comeback next time bitch.
@titoortiz I think you're arguing with the same dumbass. Sportsnation and maximumradnesss both say about the same exact shit. The retard must've forgot which account he was talkin shit to you on and accidentally talked shit to you from the other one, what a stupid ass troll LMAO
@markymark2069 "TROLL". First time I ever heard that. I shouldve known not to even comment on youtube videos of such deep debate. Now you internet goons are on my tail calling me all types of nerded names. OH NO!
@maximumradnesss Hahahah that's all the internet has is stupid ass nerds who just debate and battle over the lamest sht and have no life's and they take the responses serious as sht
@Buildingmuscle2012 LOL! prolly catch an erection off of seeing debates about shit nobody even gives a fuck about haha. But somehow the fag concerned with my grammar is the one who has a life...
@maximumradnesss Lmao then he probably doesn't even fight in real he is just a dick rider he is a ufc boi all i have to say is fuck mma its low pay and the cards suck badly and boxing doesn't even produce good fighters for the young generation smh like i said prize fighting ahhh its cool to watch id never fight for low pay in mma and for boxing its way outta date so fuck that 2
@Buildingmuscle2012 im just saying your a know it all douche bag for trying to make it look like youre a professional fighter. you might be, but you have no proof of it over the internet. and i know youre not based on your ideals. fighting is fighting, and some people fight to fight. now go away
@TheSweatyfatguy I understand ppl like fighting but ether way its not a career unless u making good bank from it and apparently in mma u dont make good pay so its basically a hobbie u cant tell me if floyd wasn't getting payed az much az he does he would still box hell naw but yea man think what u want u can fight mma and get payed sht money hats off to you im just sayin mma is not a career if ur not able to live well off it struggling to live isn't cool unless u like that life
@titoortiz Oh ya, I forgot the part where you were my english teacher....sad thing is that if I'm so below you with my inept spelling, why are you still talking to me....now tell me something else thats wrong with my grammar on youtube
@maximumradnesss you used four " ...." it's suppose to be three "..." lol, now go get a life you boxing srub. I love boxers, they're like turtles on their back.
@titoortiz Shut the fuck up, you probably just think you know about mma because you live in your moms basements and she waste her money on every card for you.
Whoever uploaded this video is a fucking idiot. The funny thing is that most dumb fucks dont realize that UFC is a company. I dont understand how you could compare a company to a whole sport....
Ha, Rogan completely owned that debate. Boxing isn't fighting, it's a sport. In a real fight outside a ring, bobbing, weaving and rope-a-doping won't save you from getting thrown around and about the concrete or from kicks to the rib. And yes, boxing fans, a well placed kick hurts way more than any punch. Long live Mixed Martial Arts. Long live the UFC.
"Boxing isn't fighting, it's a sport." Who says a sport can't also be a fight? Both mma and boxing are combative sports, and thus can count as fighting. It's just that mma allows a lot more variety tools to be used.
Boxing is a great sport and so is MMA. There is no reason both cannot coexist. The UFC grows on it's own merits and rightfully so, however ufc isn't killing boxing. Boxing is killing boxing with terrible mismanagement, a mess of non-unification of titles, massive disparity of fighter purses and the seeming willingness to market mayweather and paquiao fights 100 times heavier than any other fighter (oh and amir kahn wooweee).
The heads of boxing are the reason Mayweather an Pacquiao hasn't happend. This is the FINAL whimper for boxing. Aftet that fight happens boxing is.done because they have no other huge stars to promote besides pac man and mayweather. Rogan hit it on the head boxing is being swallowed and MMA not just UFC is taking over the #1 spot in combat fighting. Boxing will shortly fade away due to it's on demensional nature and MMA with it's versatility will continue for a very long time.
Oh please, how is boxing dying? There are plenty of other fighters besides Pac and Floyd. MMA will always be a competitor to other combat sports like Boxing or K1, but that doesn't mean that the failure of one is due to another.
Why don't mma fighters step in the ring with a boxer? Because they are bums who can hack the skill and conditioning a prime boxer goes threw. Floyd Mayweather is so precise at boxing it's amazing. I don't like the guy at all cause he's basically a asshole, but he would tear up anybody; ufc, mma, boxing, whatever, whoever. Anybody that steps in the ring with Floyd Mayweather will be demolished and has been demolished 42 times.
Mayweather would get owned in MMA without having any knowledge of other arts, fully agree.
To be fair though the MMA fighters you mentioned (except for Ustinov and maybe Noons) have a very weak boxing record fights. Virtually all of those fighters boxing victories come against extremely weak opposition with their opponents having almost all loses and very few fights (some even had that fight as their debute).
@UncannyRicardo That's true because you only get out of a sport what you put into it... Overeem & Anderson Silva didn't become great strikers / MMA stars over night. Not to discredit Floyd because he is a phenomenal boxer but the first 15 guys he started out weren't exactly killers either. It takes a rare individual to excel at multiple combative sports because they all have extremely hard competition at the elite levels.
@Immortalsyn83 Lol I hadn't seen that first one till you posted it... Hilarious, boxers are easily beatable by your average blue belt grappler, or even a slightly experienced white belt bjj guy.
@ZantheusX Elbows are most defiantly legal in MMA... The only angle you are not allowed to do is a 12/6 which usually requires a dominate position to pull off. Jones only loss to date was a DQ via illegal elbow strike to Matt Hamil. MMA isn't street fighting, its a full body combative sport. Vale Tudo in Brazil is closer to a real street fight, even nut shots are usually legal.
@Immortalsyn83 Ok... I confess. The reason why I dislike MMA / UFC so much is because of all the grappling... If they put on a time limit to the grappling, say 15 to 30 seconds, it would be alot more entertaining. It would then be a more balanced sport with strikes and grapples.
@ZantheusX They should allow up kicks to downed opponents & knees at any angle. Lets face it, a finger on the ground shouldn't make someone safe. Limiting moves is what creates stalling but grappling IMO should not be limited to a time unless they are truly stalling. Grappling is a powerful tool for control & wearing out your opponent. As long as hes keeps working to improve position & landing strikes there is no reason to stand. If you can't do anything to stop it 15-25min, u lose!
@ZantheusX What? This is the most asinine comment I've ever heard. Proving that you are not a fan of Mixed Martial Arts at all. The whole concept for MMA is the complete well roundedness of athletes in combative sports. A striker would have an advantage if you placed a time limit on grappling. Submissions don't happen in 30 seconds unless a person leaves an opening in his defense. Something that wouldn't happen if he knew it was 30 seconds and a stand up.
@ZantheusX The essence of MMA is to allow every fighter to use 100% of their skills, restricting grappling will only handicap grapplers (oh and no one can grapple for 15 or 30 seconds only my friend!) and it would definitely not be a fair and balanced fight. The reason why you see so much grappling in MMA fights is simply because grappling is the dominant aspect of a fight. Don't you wonder why most UFC champs have grappling backgrounds?
@JasonZification Guess it would be easier just to position myself as a non-MMA fan... I do get a kick out of seeing someone getting powerbombed when they try to do a grapple submission though :) Just hate to see piggy-backs, ground and pound, etc... Locks and submissions are ok though. Are headbutts, shoulder ram, jumping and stomping a grounded opponent allowed in MMA?
@ZantheusX You can headbutt an opponents body but not there face, can shoulder ramp as well. You can use soccer kick to a downed opponent & head stomp in Dream FC & other minor MMA promotions in Brazil/Japan but not UFC. You should check out that spectacular wheel kick KO that happen this weekend at UFC 142, can find it on my favorites.
@JasonZification The gate keeper of the LW division I think is Guida but those would also be interesting matches. Actually I wouldn't mind seeing the rematch between Melvin & Nate.
@Immortalsyn83 With a second thought i think yeah, barboza has never been really tested against a wrestler/grappler, guida would be a good match up. Yep i think if melvin passes miller we would hear about that rematch, but i would have to go with nate again, his boxing is awesome and couple this with his BJJ,and man those diaz brothers have got iron chins (Condit is going down btw!).Melvin does too much mistakes also and too much showboating.
@ZantheusX Fact is grappling is much more complex than striking, thats why people find it hard to understand and love, for instance everyone knows how a punch to the face feels like, but very little knows what it is to get triangle-choked.I'm sure if you understood the complexity of grappling you would begin to love MMA too.Concerning your question i'm sure Immortalsyn83 replied to it just fine
@ZantheusX this is how ufc started back then but it was also the reason why it got canceled. regulate the sport if not then the fighters are going to suffer the consequences.
we want them to keep fighting for years to come lol we don't want to see them get seriously injured.
boxing has to clean it's shit up, too many weight classes and different belts, boxing was good in the late 90s - before 99% of the public knew what the UFC was.
I like BOTH UFC and Boxing. I prefer boxing though, because it is stand up fighting. I like the concept of using all you limbs, but i'm not much for ground fighting. That's why i prefer boxing, although i still like UFC.
PS: Boxing IS NOT on the decline. True, UFC is rising, but boxing is still very strong in other countries, EG SouthEast Asia and Latin America.
I honestly think that the golden days of boxing are over. This is no longer the sport to watch anymore. I look at Mayweather and think 'way isn't he in UFC?' Boxing WAS a great sport but the dream is over. Seriously who wait anxiously over who is going to win a boxing fight anymore?
hahahahaha!!! Randomly paused at 3:18 and it's a perfect shot of Rogan looking off camera with a "are you listening to this dumb ass?" look on his face
White people are lacking in the sport of boxing, so what do they do. They make some crazy ufc shit up for stupid young white males to watch; while they don't know it, but they are dooped into a lesser sport (if you can call it that)
@espnemail555 Actually UFC was brought here by the Gracie (Brazilian) family to showcase BJJ in full body combat. In the Immortal words of Jim Brown who was commentating at the first UFC events... "I have found my sport." Everything you said is a coined by bob arum or mayweather. I find it ironic floyd said "you put animals in a cage," & now hes spending the next 90 days in one for beating his wife. They are simply different sports that focus on different skills & abilities.
@Immortalsyn83 This Brazilian guy might have brought the "sport" of ufc to America, but it didn't get popularized by him. Everything I have said is based on my own observations. The heavyweight division is being dominated by the white Klitschko brothers, but they are Russian. The rest of boxing is filled up with black, mexican, or filipino guys; its a fact. Why you may like ufc better you can't deny that the majority is filled up with second class white athletes.
@espnemail555 "Family" not an individual & vale tudo was already a popular sport in Brazil for many years. Zuffa purchased UFC about 10 years ago which helped bring it to a mainstream audience in america. The Klitschko brothers are Russian, but they are still white & I am not sure what race has to do with combative sports. Ever hear the phrase every dog has his day? The majority of every combat sport is full of second class athletes, this is how you separate bums from champions.
@espnemail555 Lol, ok, let's look at the champion's shall we? Of the 7 UFC chapions, one is of Mexican decent, Dominick Cruz, 3 are Brazilian, Jose Aldo, Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos, one is black, Jon Jones, only 2 are white, Canadian GSP, and New Jersey's Frankie Edgar. Get your facts straight. Research shows 80% of boxing's viewers are white.
@espnemail555 lmfao!!! "the sport of ufc"????? UFC is a mma promoter, not the sport dumbass!!! Go do some research before you dig yourself into an even deeper hole!
@sdrawdegiarc1980 LOL, maybe if he trained wrestling, but any average wrestler would fucking shit on him, take him down and KO him, Mike Tyson of any age would get smashed by mid tier MMA fighter.
@bfmyac HAHA. If you say so. Look at Tyson in his prime? majority of them wouldnt get a chance to get there hands on them from one dig to the jaw! K.O. end of.
@sdrawdegiarc1980 Lol, any MMA fighter could easily take down Tyson, and GnP or choke him to sleep, let's be real here, boxers don't have a chance in a MMA fight.
I prefer boxing, but Joe Rogan won the debate and is a better man than Lou. Also, boxing hasn't been the same as the past because frankly, UFC is more exciting to a casual viewer while boxing seems somewhat odd until you really know it.
boxing lost its edge when schools in the US started banning it. It had no "feed" like the big 4. then UFC took advantage of a weak boxing market, and when you have to pay to watch a sport, you will pick the more visually dynamic sport (UFC). i feel sad about it.
I disagree that boxing is limited form of fighting I am a huge MMA fan I love the sport is the only sport I watch but I have been boxing since I was a teenager and I know that my sport has a very sweet science and its not an easy thing to do I wish people would stop comparing both sports. MMA and Boxing are great and people should see them as different things.
Also as a mma fan I'd like to agree with Lou DiBella that both sports are completly differnt sports. A boxer can't jump in & just dominate the sport with only boxing techniques and a mma fighter can't just walk into boxing & win with limited striking ability. It takes years of training Just to compete in one sport. Alistair Overeem was able to become a world champion in K-1 & mma but kickboxing is used in mma which boxing your not allowed to kick or knee your opponent.
Boxing fags are butthurt because they know any MMA fighter would kick the shit out of their favorite boxer in a real fight. The worst lightweight in the UFC would rape mayweather or pacquiao in 2 minutes and take one of their arms home.
my ideal sport, kick boxing (K1) with 4 oz gloves. a limitation in kickboxing is you can't clinch, if they allowed the mauy thai clinch for knees to come, then that be amazing. but mma is my favorite sport simply for the reason, it is actual real fighting and is very unpredictable. best sport in the world.
However, i personally prefer boxing because i prefer stand-up fighting over grappling. While i like kicking, kneeing, elbowing, and punching, grappling just doesn't appeal to me. But that's just my opinion.
both sports are dead! lol cain vs brock was a joke. cain vs dos santos a bigger one. and well lesnar vs overeem doesnt have to be talked about. boxing is too political. only fighter that is worth watching is jon jones and sometimes silva. the rest are all bums. gsp is good but boring as hell.
@biggiemacmexican boxing definetely had a better 2011 thought. TV ratings up, great PPV buys, most googled sport of the year, Manny most searched for athlete. slew of new stars on the horizon, great fights with great undercards. UFC - TV ratings down, PPV buys down, Brock is gone, many over hyped boring fights, GSP out for a long time, UFC on FOX a disaster, lack of new stars, plus Dana looks and acts like a nervous wreck
@Denver1928 Hmmm i think thats one way of seeing things..especially if you are biased towards boxing. Though i won't deny that boxing had a rather good year (i'm sure there were much better years though!), i believe MMA had an excellent year too with the purchase of strikeforce, and the incoming of new talents and competition, a first on FOX, a success in Brazil.I personally think 2011 was a better year than 2010 for MMA in general.Dana himself said 2011 was the best of all..so
@Denver1928 That's why they got on Fox, to reach out to a large demographic. There is know question 2011 was the biggest year for MMA. Everything JasonZification just said plus Zuffa fighters now have their training injuries covered under insurance. UFC added two new divisions & plans for another two divisions (125 & 225) are set for 2012.
A fat ass ufc fighter wouldn't last 30 seconds in the ring. Ufc should be so lucky that Mike Tyson didn't get in the cage, he would've actually killed somebody no doubt. I would put the current Heavyweight champion "Wladimir Klitschko" against any heavyweight in Ufc. Ufc rules too, Kiltschko is such a monstrous beast.
@espnemail555 you dont know what the fuck your talking about no pure boxer would last in the UFC james toney vs randy couture showed that choked out in the 1st round you know what put vladimir klitschko against the clay guida who is a 155 pounder and guida would win 9 out of ten time because he would take him to the ground and pound him you know why because boxer aren't trained to defend takedowns so why dont you stop now and type again when you get some knowledge about MMA
@bunghole211 You're fucking stupid. Me and my buddies use to wrestle at the end of the work day just to see who would win. "Defending a take down" is common sense, hardly any training involved. Nobody boxes for fun, because it's the toughest sport on earth. Ufc is filled with second class athletes that wouldn't last 30 seconds in the ring.
@espnemail555 you wrestled and it took no effort okay defend a pro MMA fighters takedown and not your friends and tell me how easy it is you and your friends dont know shit about takedowns Boxing is a tough sport but MMA is much tougher you have to train for that only have to train for punching only and MMA is full of second class athletes? how about brock lesnar and matt mitrione who were nfl players Marcus Davis was a pro boxer the diaz brothers Triathlete competitors you fail
@espnemail555 lmfao! You are hilarious dude!! I hope you're not really serious cause what you're saying is a JOKE. "nobody boxes for fun"??? Are you fuckin serious? I used to box in school for fun all the time!! All you need is some gloves and you go at it. Boxing is much easier than MMA, back when I only boxed for fun I would choose boxing over mma anyday to compete in because I was clueless about ground game (which is not the case anymore, 3+ yrs bjj and judo).
@bunghole211 Also I just read James Toney's wiki and I can't believe you even brought up the bums name in a argument. Wow if you think this Toney guy was an elite boxer or even respectable boxer you're dumber than I thought.
@espnemail555 WOW just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber you did you just dropped a bomb of stupidity you should learn something about boxing I might not know alot but even I know he was an elite boxer he won the IBF world title and retained it for six fights before losing to jones he is one of the most skilled boxers in history you should learn some boxing before you talk shit if I get one more comment this stupid I'm not even going to respond to such stupidity
@bunghole211 Ok last reply to somebody sooooooooooooooo stupidddddddddddddddddd. I will put it simple so you can understand ok? Toney=Bum, RJJ=Champion.
@espnemail555 I haven't posted on this video forum for months and just took a look at the front page. You really don't think James Toney was ever a respectable Boxer? I don't even follow Boxing closely like that and know that he was one of the top Boxers in his prime. You don't know what you are talking about. When he fought Couture he was old, fat and punch drunk but Toney is one of the most accomplished Boxers in the sport's history.
@espnemail555 And about MMA fighters not lasting 30 seconds in the ring you could not be more wrong believe it or not MMA fighters have fundamentals in boxing and could probaly make it to the final bell would they win no could they survive yes a boxer wouldn't make it to the final bell in an MMA match because they only know about punching they dont know shit about clinching or ground game in fact even a Maui Thai fighter would beat a boxer your lack of knowledge amazes me
@Dark5ide12 youre an idiot thousabds more people have been injured in soccer, hockey, football, boxing than mma. You just dont understand the purest form of man vs. Man.

UsurperOfThrones 1 week ago
@UsurperOfThrones
"Boxing isn't fighting, it's a sport." Who says a sport can't also be a fight? Both mma and boxing are combative sports, and thus can count as fighting. It's just that mma allows a lot more variety tools to be used.
UncannyRicardo 1 week ago
Boxing is a great sport and so is MMA. There is no reason both cannot coexist. The UFC grows on it's own merits and rightfully so, however ufc isn't killing boxing. Boxing is killing boxing with terrible mismanagement, a mess of non-unification of titles, massive disparity of fighter purses and the seeming willingness to market mayweather and paquiao fights 100 times heavier than any other fighter (oh and amir kahn wooweee).
brandontalbort 1 week ago
The heads of boxing are the reason Mayweather an Pacquiao hasn't happend. This is the FINAL whimper for boxing. Aftet that fight happens boxing is.done because they have no other huge stars to promote besides pac man and mayweather. Rogan hit it on the head boxing is being swallowed and MMA not just UFC is taking over the #1 spot in combat fighting. Boxing will shortly fade away due to it's on demensional nature and MMA with it's versatility will continue for a very long time.
fred12362 1 week ago

Why don't mma fighters step in the ring with a boxer? Because they are bums who can hack the skill and conditioning a prime boxer goes threw. Floyd Mayweather is so precise at boxing it's amazing. I don't like the guy at all cause he's basically a asshole, but he would tear up anybody; ufc, mma, boxing, whatever, whoever.
UncannyRicardo 1 week ago
@UncannyRicardo That's true because you only get out of a sport what you put into it... Overeem & Anderson Silva didn't become great strikers / MMA stars over night. Not to discredit Floyd because he is a phenomenal boxer but the first 15 guys he started out weren't exactly killers either. It takes a rare individual to excel at multiple combative sports because they all have extremely hard competition at the elite levels.

Dude... you put elbows into MMA and watch how all grapplers die...
They say MMA is real street fighting? Sure! Put in the elbows then...
ZantheusX 2 weeks ago
@ZantheusX ..There ARE elbows in MMA...
bfmyac 2 weeks ago
@ZantheusX Elbows are most defiantly legal in MMA... The only angle you are not allowed to do is a 12/6 which usually requires a dominate position to pull off. Jones only loss to date was a DQ via illegal elbow strike to Matt Hamil. MMA isn't street fighting, its a full body combative sport. Vale Tudo in Brazil is closer to a real street fight, even nut shots are usually legal.
Immortalsyn83 2 weeks ago
@Immortalsyn83 Ok... I confess. The reason why I dislike MMA / UFC so much is because of all the grappling... If they put on a time limit to the grappling, say 15 to 30 seconds, it would be alot more entertaining. It would then be a more balanced sport with strikes and grapples.
ZantheusX 1 week ago
@ZantheusX They should allow up kicks to downed opponents & knees at any angle. Lets face it, a finger on the ground shouldn't make someone safe. Limiting moves is what creates stalling but grappling IMO should not be limited to a time unless they are truly stalling. Grappling is a powerful tool for control & wearing out your opponent. As long as hes keeps working to improve position & landing strikes there is no reason to stand. If you can't do anything to stop it 15-25min, u lose!
Immortalsyn83 1 week ago
@ZantheusX What? This is the most asinine comment I've ever heard. Proving that you are not a fan of Mixed Martial Arts at all. The whole concept for MMA is the complete well roundedness of athletes in combative sports. A striker would have an advantage if you placed a time limit on grappling. Submissions don't happen in 30 seconds unless a person leaves an opening in his defense. Something that wouldn't happen if he knew it was 30 seconds and a stand up.
DioceseTemplar 1 week ago
@ZantheusX The essence of MMA is to allow every fighter to use 100% of their skills, restricting grappling will only handicap grapplers (oh and no one can grapple for 15 or 30 seconds only my friend!) and it would definitely not be a fair and balanced fight. The reason why you see so much grappling in MMA fights is simply because grappling is the dominant aspect of a fight. Don't you wonder why most UFC champs have grappling backgrounds?
JasonZification 1 week ago
@JasonZification Guess it would be easier just to position myself as a non-MMA fan... I do get a kick out of seeing someone getting powerbombed when they try to do a grapple submission though :) Just hate to see piggy-backs, ground and pound, etc... Locks and submissions are ok though. Are headbutts, shoulder ram, jumping and stomping a grounded opponent allowed in MMA?
ZantheusX 1 week ago
@ZantheusX You can headbutt an opponents body but not there face, can shoulder ramp as well. You can use soccer kick to a downed opponent & head stomp in Dream FC & other minor MMA promotions in Brazil/Japan but not UFC. You should check out that spectacular wheel kick KO that happen this weekend at UFC 142, can find it on my favorites.

JasonZification 1 week ago
@ZantheusX Fact is grappling is much more complex than striking, thats why people find it hard to understand and love, for instance everyone knows how a punch to the face feels like, but very little knows what it is to get triangle-choked.I'm sure if you understood the complexity of grappling you would begin to love MMA too.Concerning your question i'm sure Immortalsyn83 replied to it just fine

Immortalsyn83 3 weeks ago
@Immortalsyn83 This Brazilian guy might have brought the "sport" of ufc to America, but it didn't get popularized by him. Everything I have said is based on my own observations. The heavyweight division is being dominated by the white Klitschko brothers, but they are Russian. The rest of boxing is filled up with black, mexican, or filipino guys; its a fact. Why you may like ufc better you can't deny that the majority is filled up with second class white athletes.
espnemail555 3 weeks ago
@espnemail555 "Family" not an individual & vale tudo was already a popular sport in Brazil for many years. Zuffa purchased UFC about 10 years ago which helped bring it to a mainstream audience in america. The Klitschko brothers are Russian, but they are still white & I am not sure what race has to do with combative sports. Ever hear the phrase every dog has his day? The majority of every combat sport is full of second class athletes, this is how you separate bums from champions.

MrJahka 3 weeks ago
I disagree that boxing is limited form of fighting I am a huge MMA fan I love the sport is the only sport I watch but I have been boxing since I was a teenager and I know that my sport has a very sweet science and its not an easy thing to do I wish people would stop comparing both sports. MMA and Boxing are great and people should see them as different things.
raulvazquezdm 3 weeks ago
Also as a mma fan I'd like to agree with Lou DiBella that both sports are completly differnt sports. A boxer can't jump in & just dominate the sport with only boxing techniques and a mma fighter can't just walk into boxing & win with limited striking ability. It takes years of training Just to compete in one sport. Alistair Overeem was able to become a world champion in K-1 & mma but kickboxing is used in mma which boxing your not allowed to kick or knee your opponent.

@bunghole211 You're fucking stupid. Me and my buddies use to wrestle at the end of the work day just to see who would win. "Defending a take down" is common sense, hardly any training involved.
