It is a daily battle "walking in the spirit" as like I said we live in the physical realm. There are many days where I am not in touch and don't feel him but that is by my choosing not to give him the devotional time that is needed in the morning. I have never once seen Misty as bisexual. I have seen her talk personally with people and she is feminine. I hope I didn't sound conceited with my intelligent comment, and I know intelligent people can be brainwashed. Another thing I wanted to say here is that our "spiritual" side has not been exercised down here in the 3-dimensional plane we live in. It gets easier and easier to get in touch with the 3rd side of ourselves the longer we are in fellowship with God, other believers, and reading his Word. The initial YIELDING is the most difficult. Then you start to discover a side to you that you never felt before, our spiritual being. There are millons of intelligent Christians out there, me being one of them.

I went to IHOP in Kansas City when they first started out in a trailer. Misty Edwards always gave me really dirty glares. I don't know why. She NEVER said 'hi' to me either - just gave me dirty looks. It could be because of all the slander and gossip that is prevalent within IHOP. People just make up garbage about you there, and it gets completely out of control and spreads like a trojan virus.

If you actually spend time with Misty, and her friends you will be shocked at the power of God over her life, and the amazing things that happen around her. Taste and see that the lord is good! I would suggest and recommend the teachings of Dr Chuck Missler for any other science issue you have, from a particle physics/relativity background. Most of it goes way over my head, but what I can understand of it reinforces what the bible says.

but somehow, he freaken spotted me and before he started talking and eyeing me, i was all happy. but when he looked at me and started talking about my problem, it was a pierce through my heart. and i was like "NO FREAKEN WAY GOD EXISTS!!" and i had to leave and cry in the restroom. then, a couple of years ago, i was saved and the next morning, after i woke up, next to my bed, there's this note that said "redemption, salvation" and it was pointed towards my bed. (it's from a soul calibur ad)
and the word "damnation" was pointed towards my sister's room. so i was like "what the?!" and lately, i had a pain on my shoulder, and when i touched my friend's shoulder, my pain went away. my friend told me, "i have pain on my shoulder where you are touching" and i was shocked. i know it's hard to believe what i am saying, but all of my encounters from God is through experience. you have to either be there to see it with me and experience it.
anyways, i'm really sorry about what happened to your last church and it's strict rules. i don't know what happened that had you stray away from God, but i'm really sorry. :( but the reason why we believe in God is because of faith, experiences and our love for Him and relationship with Him. we believe in Him because He has either encountered us in some way or another. i'm really sorry, again. :( i just pray that God encounters you in such a way that will lead you to His heart and love you.

And the reason a lot of the church world doesn't either is because like the world they also are lead by their carnal minds by their own interpretations in the way they believe instead of being lead by the teacher so that they can actually begin to understand what God wants to teach His people. That's why Jesus said it is expedient for you that I go away for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.
The only way to change that is to change who your teacher is. As long as you try to rely on your own self and your own understanding when you read the Word of God you can never fully grasp what God was actually trying to bring out to you in those verses because the things of God are spiritual and not carnal. That's why the Bible says the things of God seem as foolishness to the world because they don't understand them. But a whole lot of the church world today doesn't either.
That last FACT i gave is the number one reason why there are so many different beliefs in what certain scriptures say and why there is more than one religion based off of one Bible and why even with Christians you have a split amongst denominations. The human mind interprets based on what it has been taught. If you learn to think a certain way based on how you grow up and where you go to school and what you're taught to believe in your mind will assimilate interpretation based on what it knows.

No original manuscript of any biblical book has survived. All of the texts written by the biblical authors themselves have been lost or destroyed over the centuries. All we have are copies of copies of copies, most of them copied hundreds of years after the original texts were written.
Here are some FACTS that I found for you that will just give you an idea why you cannot just read the Bible and take the literal meanings of words based on what they mean today without understanding the context they were said in and at times going back and studying the original Hebrew meaning and uses of the word or phrase.

" or "I am thirsty" or "It is finished!" Pick one!
The only ones counted as being his last words are 'Father into Your hands...' and 'It is finished'. Since you seem so intent on details - 'Father into your hands' is said to have been shouted (Matt, Mark, Luke) whereas 'It is finised' was said (John). Perhaps (since John's gospel is the only first hand one) John was close enough to hear what was said, where the others were based on research and witness statements, maybe those people were only close enough to hear what was shouted?

Obviously the Bible was physically written by men, but as a Christian I believe that it is totally God inspired/prompted/even dictated in places if you like. The Gospels each have a different feel to them depending on what God inspired the authors to recall. It is totally relevant for today's society - if read in the context of the time and what it meant to those to whom it was written, and then looking at how that teaching should be applied today. Ultimately it all boils down to relationship
with our heavenly father. You need to have open communication with God for him to reveal the meaning of His book for you life. If you don't have that relationship, then the Bible probably won't mean a whole lot to you.

There are many details in the Bible that could be questioned. We have to sift through what's factual, what's figurative and what's culturally relevant to understand what it all means today.

I don't know what the connection you are making with the "days" but Genesis chapter 1 gives a very different sequence of creation from that given in chapter 2, days and all. My story? After graduating from a 4-year Bible college I was a pastor and Bible teacher for 40 years. The evidence finally overcame my beliefs and my eyes were opened to the truth. Religion is myth.

Took me yrs to believe in God again, but I'm not religious..
I looked into these arguments before on my path and found them almost insulting. They're too simple.
1) Flat earth: in ancient astronomy 4 quarters/corners are cardinal directions. Another verse said God sits above the circle of the earth.
2) bats/birds: A different meaning. The Hebrew word meant "one with a wing". Our classification system did not exist until the 1700's.
3) dirt/humans: Man & his world are carbon based. Broken down we = 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 6 electrons. One of our richest sources of carbon? The soil. Just dirt.
"Man & his world are carbon based." Actually, we are primarily water-based. The bible says humans are made from dirt. Or that man was made from dirt and woman from his rib. Depending on which version of Creation you read. Science tells us that the ocean is the womb of life on earth. As neither of us was there to observe the process, let's look and see what humans are really made of: Hmmm... Nearly all salt water and a few minerals. Sea water.
Actually what I stated previously about carbon is seen as a scientific fact now.
I realize science has changed a lot since you were a student. I am talking about bio-chemistry and physics, things like atoms, quarks, etc... Quantum physics may answer a lot of questions for us one day.
Does it mean your wrong? No, we do need water to survive and contain a large % of said water.
But science took our understanding to a new level. Given time science can & will change.
I know that I mentioned it twice already that word the feet is translated from the Hebrew word "regel", which most often does mean foot, but it can also mean legs. Read 1 Samuel 17:6. They translated regel in that verse to mean legs. Then read Ruth 3:4, Judges 3:24, Ezekiel 16:25. In those verses you'll find that the word "feet" seems to of been used to describe something completely different. To be more specific the male and female pudenda lol.
The Bible was NOT written in English. It was translated to English from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. And any time you go from one language to another you're going to run into instances where there isn't an English equivalent to the original word. Translators must simply go off of their understanding of the language and use words that they THINK hold the same meaning. But when the words have different meanings when said in different contexts you can see where it can become difficult.
The problem here is that you're trying to take the literal meanings of every word based on your knowledge of todays way of thinking, todays definitions and todays way of describing something. Your completely ignoring the fact that the words or phrases may of meant something totally different during the time it was written or the fact that the Hebrew words have multiple uses and meanings just like our words today.

It is a daily battle "walking in the spirit" as like I said we live in the physical realm. There are many days where I am not in touch and don't feel him but that is by my choosing not to give him the devotional time that is needed in the morning. I have never once seen Misty as bisexual. Another thing I wanted to say here is that our "spiritual" side has not been exercised down here in the 3-dimensional plane we live in. It gets easier and easier to get in touch with the 3rd side of ourselves the longer we are in fellowship with God, other believers, and reading his Word. The initial YIELDING is the most difficult. Then you start to discover a side to you that you never felt before, our spiritual being. There are millons of intelligent Christians out there, me being one of them.

I went to IHOP in Kansas City when they first started out in a trailer. Misty Edwards always gave me really dirty glares. I don't know why. She NEVER said 'hi' to me either - just gave me dirty looks. It could be because of all the slander and gossip that is prevalent within IHOP. People just make up garbage about you there, and it gets completely out of control and spreads like a trojan virus.

Each Hebrew character also has a numerical value- there were no numerals. The Hebrew for 1Kings 7:23 (what you're referring to) was mis-translated from Hebrew- "kethiv" (111) instead of "qere" (106) with an incorrect extra character being added. When the formula is corrected for the mis-translation, the math becomes:
3 x 10 x 111/106 = 31.41509433962 cubits. In a circumference of over 46 feet, that's an error of less than 15 thousandths of an inch.

((The number of letters x the product of the letters) / (The number of words x the product of the words))
you get Pi to 4 decimal places.
If you do the same with John 1:1 in the Greek (the other verse addressing the creation), you get the value 2.7183 x 10^65, which is the value of the mathematical constant e: most commonly defined as the limit of the expression (1 + 1/n)^n.

i took physiology last semester, and my teacher even believes that their has to be a higher being, or God, because he's been studying that subject (including anatomy, biology, psychology and a whole lot of other science subjects), and he said that some of the systems that happen in our body sometimes work in a weird way for it to function. i mean, physics could be an explanation, but he even said "why does it work this way?" he goes in complete detail. he questions that ppl won't ask.

Religion is so strict, and sometimes, we become offended to stuff like science and other stuff.

well, actually, not me. i don't really get offended anymore. ^^ because i don't really like the whole spirit of religiousity that's in our many churches today. i used to have the spirit of religiousity and used to follow all of the strict rules of the Bible and church. but honestly, following what God says shouldn't be forced, like what many churches try to do. i, and other unreligious Jesus lovers, do it out of our hearts because of our love for Him.

and honestly, it's not brainwashing because it comes from our encounters of God and our experiences with Him. and i totally understand where you come from because i used to not believe in God at one point in life, and scientific facts were the answer why God doesn't exist. when that happened, there were a couple of stuff that would happen to me. like, i had this problem but i had a solution to it, so i was fixing it cuz it's a simple problem to fix.

so, i went to church cuz my parents forced me to (all you filipino kids out there, you know what i mean!) ..so i'm just like "uh huh..*sleep*..*zone out*.." and the priest is talkiing. so i'm just like "yup" and this priest wanders his eyes, and targets me. he starts talking and for some reason, he starts talking about my problem. he doesn't point me out though, but he was talking about my problem. i was sitting at the side somewhat in the back and this church is filled with a lot of ppl.

but somehow, he freaken spotted me and before he started talking and eyeing me, i was all happy. but when he looked at me and started talking about my problem, it was a pierce through my heart. and i was like "NO FREAKEN WAY GOD EXISTS!!" and i had to leave and cry in the restroom. then, a couple of years ago, i was saved and the next morning, after i woke up, next to my bed, there's this note that said "redemption, salvation" and it was pointed towards my bed. (it's from a soul calibur ad)

and the word "damnation" was pointed towards my sister's room. so i was like "what the?!" and lately, i had a pain on my shoulder, and when i touched my friend's shoulder, my pain went away. my friend told me, "i have pain on my shoulder where you are touching" and i was shocked. i know it's hard to believe what i am saying, but all of my encounters from God is through experience. you have to either be there to see it with me and experience it.

anyways, i'm really sorry about what happened to your last church and it's strict rules. i don't know what happened that had you stray away from God, but i'm really sorry. :( but the reason why we believe in God is because of faith, experiences and our love for Him and relationship with Him. we believe in Him because He has either encountered us in some way or another. i'm really sorry, again. :( i just pray that God encounters you in such a way that will lead you to His heart and love you.

As a kid I loved the planetarium. I showed the boys a girl could be cute, blond, AND smart! I named all those planets! In 2006 PLUTO was seen as part of a belt & reclassified a dwarf. I'm attached, I was mad. But I did not curse "U sob's! How can I ever trust Science again! Venus, U were my fave! (Libra humor) " No, it's still there.

And the reason a lot of the church world doesn't either is because like the world they also are lead by their carnal minds by their own interpretations in the way they believe instead of being lead by the teacher so that they can actually begin to understand what God wants to teach His people. That's why Jesus said it is expedient for you that I go away for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

The only way to change that is to change who your teacher is. As long as you try to rely on your own self and your own understanding when you read the Word of God you can never fully grasp what God was actually trying to bring out to you in those verses because the things of God are spiritual and not carnal. That's why the Bible says the things of God seem as foolishness to the world because they don't understand them. But a whole lot of the church world today doesn't either.

That last FACT i gave is the number one reason why there are so many different beliefs in what certain scriptures say and why there is more than one religion based off of one Bible and why even with Christians you have a split amongst denominations. The human mind interprets based on what it has been taught. If you learn to think a certain way based on how you grow up and where you go to school and what you're taught to believe in your mind will assimilate interpretation based on what it knows.

Every "translation" is already inevitably an "interpretation". Anyone who knows more than one modern language realizes that "translations" often have meanings that are slightly different from the original, and that different people inevitably translate the same texts in slightly different ways.

No original manuscript of any biblical book has survived. All of the texts written by the biblical authors themselves have been lost or destroyed over the centuries. All we have are copies of copies of copies, most of them copied hundreds of years after the original texts were written.

Thats why you need God for yourself. So He can speak truth to your own heart. Why are there so many denominations? It's an example of what happens when man gets in way. Call upon Jesus He will reveal it to you.

1- the Bible, the basis of this religion,
is vast, vague, and inconsistent
2- there is no "holy spirit" to unify the religious believers
and 3- Jesus' prayer that his followers "be one"

If someone can show a real contradiction in the bible, and not continue using strawman arguments, I would gladly throw away my bible. However, the bible IS Truth. It is the word of God. It has been tested for centuries, and has survived the test. A book "full of inconsistencies'', wouldn't survive like God's word has....TRUTH wins!!! God wins. So be on His side ;).

The only ones counted as being his last words are 'Father into Your hands...' and 'It is finished'. Since you seem so intent on details - 'Father into your hands' is said to have been shouted (Matt, Mark, Luke) whereas 'It is finised' was said (John). Perhaps (since John's gospel is the only first hand one) John was close enough to hear what was said, where the others were based on research and witness statements, maybe those people were only close enough to hear what was shouted?

Obviously the Bible was physically written by men, but as a Christian I believe that it is totally God inspired/prompted/even dictated in places if you like. The Gospels each have a different feel to them depending on what God inspired the authors to recall. It is totally relevant for today's society - if read in the context of the time and what it meant to those to whom it was written, and then looking at how that teaching should be applied today. Ultimately it all boils down to relationship

My own understanding of the Bible shows me that God speaks to people where they're at. What good would it have done to talk to people about a spherical earth when they believed the earth was flat? Yes God is above all that, but when trying to express His greatness, he used they're limited understanding. I don't have a problem with this as He still reveals stuff all the time through His amazing creation. The Christian lifestyle is about experience. If you don't experience God, faith will die

The snake talked before the fallof man, when all living creatures lived in harmony and understanding. The onkey talked when God's spirit caused him to. Bats were understood to be birds until relatively recently, so that point is fairly irrelevant. Not sure about the eart being flat or the sun revolving around the earth, and I have no recollection of the Bible even mentioning Pi, let alone saying it is 3?? As for the order of creation - why are you even complaining about that when the bible

There are many details in the Bible that could be questioned. We have to sift through what's factual, what's figurative and what's culturally relevant to understand what it all means today.
You seem fairly hell bent on nit-picking to 'prove the bible wrong'. But since most Christians have a personal experience of God that they cannot deny, no nit-picking will change their minds.
What's your story anyway? - I see that you used to have faith, but now?

Sounds like you got burned bad. TBH I haven't been 2 a church since a kid, what happened to me was criminal and left me with 0 faith. So I understand feeling angry, betrayed & like you've wasted yrs of your life.
Took me yrs to believe in God again, but I'm not religious..
I looked into these arguments before on my path and found them almost insulting. They're too simple.

1) Flat earth: in ancient astronomy 4 quarters/corners are cardinal directions. Another verse said God sits above the circle of the earth.
2) bats/birds: A different meaning. The Hebrew word meant "one with a wing". Our classification system did not exist until the 1700's.
3) dirt/humans: Man & his world are carbon based. Broken down we = 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 6 electrons. One of our richest sources of carbon? The soil. Just dirt.

FLAT EARTH IN THE BIBLE:
Isaiah 40:22 says the earth is a CIRCLE (Hebrew CHUWG).
Circles are round. And FLAT.
(DURE is Old Hebrew for "sphere", but Isaiah used CHUWG)
Daniel 4:10-11a tree that is as tall as the heavens
can be seen from everywhere on the earth
Matthew 4:8 has Jesus viewing the whole earth from a tall mountain.
Revelation 1:7 says every eye will see Jesus coming in the clouds.
Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation all require a flat earth.
Well, either flat or bowl-shaped.

means anything bit "birds",
nor is it ever used for anything BUT birds,

Actually what I stated previously about carbon is seen as a scientific fact now.
I realize science has changed a lot since you were a student. I am talking about bio-chemistry and physics, things like atoms, quarks, etc... Quantum physics may answer a lot of questions for us one day.
Does it mean your wrong? No, we do need water to survive and contain a large % of said water.
But science took our understanding to a new level. Given time science can & will change.

I know that I mentioned it twice already that word the feet is translated from the Hebrew word "regel", which most often does mean foot, but it can also mean legs. Read 1 Samuel 17:6. They translated regel in that verse to mean legs. Then read Ruth 3:4, Judges 3:24, Ezekiel 16:25. In those verses you'll find that the word "feet" seems to of been used to describe something completely different. To be more specific the male and female pudenda lol.

The Bible was NOT written in English. It was translated to English from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. And any time you go from one language to another you're going to run into instances where there isn't an English equivalent to the original word. Translators must simply go off of their understanding of the language and use words that they THINK hold the same meaning. But when the words have different meanings when said in different contexts you can see where it can become difficult.

The problem here is that you're trying to take the literal meanings of every word based on your knowledge of todays way of thinking, todays definitions and todays way of describing something. Your completely ignoring the fact that the words or phrases may of meant something totally different during the time it was written or the fact that the Hebrew words have multiple uses and meanings just like our words today.
