MBW600, to answer your first and second questions, No the Lord didn't tell us to call ourselves by those names you mentioned (Acts 4:12). You mentioned "Catholics," If you had examined some of the other video's here, you would have come across other video's about other religions. We are only trying to educate those who desire to understand the truth. Take care.

Again, I think you understand what was being said, God never told us to call ourselves Jehovah Witnesses today. In our day, those who wears His name Christians (Acts 11:26) in the church He promised to build (Matthew 16:18) which is in existence today, (Romans 16:16; 1 Cor.12:27)

Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, "Upon this rock I will build My church...." In Acts 2:47, the Lord was "Adding those who were saved to the church." Which one was it? It was the one He promised to build and it was the one we can read about in the Bible, 1 Cor.12:27; Romans 16:16. Why, you know that the Bible will judge us in the last day (Jn.12:48) and you will go to a church or call yourselves by a name that's not mentioned in the Bible?

Is the name Jehovah the issue that you have? is it that we call ourselves Jehovah Witnesses? If in verse 43:10 of Isaiah, Jehovah calls the nation of Israel his witnesses, would they not be considered "Witnesses of Jehovah"? or "Jehovah's Witnesses"but the point that Jehovah rejected the nation of Isreal when they rejected Jesus (Matt. 15:1-9; 21:42, 43) and turned his attention to people of all nations (Acts 15:14) for his NAME, indicates that the Israelites are no longer his "favored" people.

Furthermore, you quote "call or selves by a name thats not mentioned in the bible" Jehovah's name (tetragrammaton) is all throughout the bible (Psalms 83:18 KJV Exodus 6:3) When the Pharaoh of Moses day, persecuted Jehovah's people, Jehovah said the reason he kept pharaoh in existence was to let his name be known throughout the whole earth (EX 9:16) ... again, Acts 15:14 says that Jehovah took people of all nations and tounges for his NAME... In our day, who bears his name? Praise his name?

Yes, 1 Corinthians 12:27, "Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually." The Bible explains to us that the body is the church, Col.1:24," I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church." In Eph.4:4 the Bible tells us,"There is one body...." which is one church. Also we find the name church of Christ in Romans 16:16.

Acts 11:26, "And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch." The Way, (Acts 19:9) is also referring to "The Way of the Lord." (Acts 18:25) This was not the only name the church was called, they were also called "Christians." There is a great importance in a name for if it were not so, God would not have mentioned it in His word!

the Bible, when listing a long line of faithful men of old starting with Abel, calls them so great a cloud of witnesses. (Hebrews 11:4; 12:1) Outstanding individuals, such as Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David, are listed as Gods witnesses—witnesses of Jehovah. We were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26) The name Christian is derived from Christ i.e. Israelites is derived from Israel. Christ promised to build His church in Matthew 16:18

In Romans 16:16 it says, churches of Christ which is plural is to understand the context in which Paul is writing. If you notice v.1, Paul is writing to the church in Rome and hes encouraging the brethren in Rome to greet those who he has acknowledged in this letter, i.e. Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia which is Asia v.5 and others in whom risk their own necks and was instrumental to him in the ministry . He sums his letter up by acknowledging,

Paul mentioned that we are the churches of Christ This name was commanded by the Lord. How do we know this? 1 Cor.14:37, If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD.

Also, Ive learned some things from the Old letter, (Romans 15:4) the Proverb writer has told me, Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him. Proverbs 26:4. I believe that you did not listen to the message correctly. Ill ask you a few questions since Ive answered yours. Where in the New Testament did the Lord indicate (or command) that we call ourselves Jehovah Witnesses? We understand that we are not under the Old covenant anymore (Col.1:14) Therefore, by pulling the name Jehovah Witnesses or as you put it Witnesses of Jehovah, from the Old Law, where is this name in the New Testament? Also, who was God talking to in Isaiah 43:10? Did He command those who desire to be saved today to call themselves Jehovah Witnesses? If so, where in the New Testament can you show this?

Your reference in Matt 15:1-9;21:42,43 in saying that God turned His attention to all people gives more support that Israel was not His chosen people anymore however, the gospel was not taken from them in that no one obeyed.

If you remember, there were three thousand Jews (Israelites) on the day of Pentecost added to the Lords church! (1) It was some of the same Jews that crucified Him, How do we know that? Notice Acts 2:36, "Therefore let all the HOUSE OF ISRAEL know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (2) The promise was also to them, (v.39) (3) Those Jews continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine, (v.42)

but notice v.47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Remember, you said, names are important and I agree.  Which church was the Lord adding those who were being saved to? What was the name of the church? I would like for you to answer these questions with scriptures and please give me the name of the church in the New Testament, for the Bible does mention it.

Remember also Romans 15:4, For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Things in the Old Covenant was written for our learning not for us to be commanded under today unless it is reintroduced in the New Testament.

This same Jesus commanded Paul to call the church by the name we can read about in the Bible. Notice what Authorized means. To give someone permission, the power to do something! Jesus has this Authority. (ref.Matt.28:18) Notice Commanded, It is an order or instruction given by someone and that someone for mankind is Jesus. Jesus said, If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15

Of course, the pronunciation of Jehovah's name is not similar to that of ancient times. However, in respect to the most high, no one would want to disrespect his name, for it is extremely important Names are even important among us as humans, individually and as a group. If your name is George and someone call you Buster, would you not feel disrespected? Or if someone said "7 rivers church" would you not correct them? So in the translation of the Tetragrammaton YHWH, the vowels A, E most sound.
