Does any one else notoce the similarities between this and arashi no yori ni? #1 antagonist has injured eye #2 antagonist lives in " rocky mountains #3 protagonists mother dies early in the movie killed by antagonist #4 both animals yield a type of thick fur #5 the barn is the only proof of human civilization, who agrees?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not being cold hearted, but the way they animated him freaking out over his mother's death makes the whole scene feel very silly.
The animation ruins the saddness of the film for me. I can't sympathise with a deformed little sheep-thing that doesn't even look like a sheep, and watching him just crawl all over his mother like that just makes me want to laugh, not cry.
wow, only part 2 and already the horror begins. I mean, DAMN! We started this with flowers and cute little rabbits, and now a lamb screaming over his dead mother's body!
I remember watching the English version of this when I was younger. Such a heart breaking story for a children's film. Sounds definitely better in Japanese.
Its depicting most peoples behavior. Have you ever seen as a kid one of your friends being informed that something tragic happened? The whole class will just stare, because they don't know any better. Sheep work in the same mind (as a flock) so it makes sense. Kids don't give much comfort, and neither do sheep.

4:18, he looks more like a person in a sheep costume than an actual sheep.
...I love how the other sheep just stare at Chirin instead of actually trying to comfort him. XD

This is actually sadder in the japanese version since its not as obnoxiously annoying as the english version. :c

@Gothichick3 And normally I hate being 'one of those people' who side with the Japanese dub, but you're right. Even the dialogue is more meaningful.

this is MUCH better than the english version. The characters pretty much narrate themselves in that version.

Did anyone else notice the other sheep that died right as the wolf came in? Or was that just me? Because these sheep seem to really.... not care.

@sakume Death is a much more common thing in the beast world. They probably recognize there is nothing they can do.
