The crowd did not hate Goldberg because they were tired of him at Wrestlemania 20. They booed both him and Lesnar because they were both leaving the company after that match. You gotta remember , that event took place at MSG. That place is practically home to WWE. Fans in that area are (or were) pretty enthusiastic of the WWE product. They were upset that they were leaving "their" company.
