I'm almost certain ebay is the one bidding and not paying on items. In any thing that happens like this- I ask myself, "who has something to gain?"....ebay takes your listing fee and hopes you won't go through the hassle of trying to get your Final Value Fee. I'm so surprised, this is so right. I sold an item and the buyer just raised a dispute as 'item not as described' gets a full refund...BUT still can neg me. No one told him to bid on it, the listing was fine, even the resolution centre staff member said it was fine, but they backed the buyer still and let him neg me. I've video'd me opening the returned item and video'd the listing. It was exactly as described. The buyers can do as they please and neg sellers as and when they wish

ebay didn't do anything for me in a situation where I paid for an item that the seller took a ridiculous amount of time to send to me and when I decided to refuse the item because of how long it took to arrive they basically decided not to award me my money back or at least assist me in getting the seller to re-send it to me since I was out over four hundred dollars. They had the nerve to send me an email basically saying "sucks to be you, but please keep on shopping with us".

I totally understand where you stand with ebay and paypal. There is a coin seller on ebay that sent out an email to all of their customers, telling them about a transaction in the thousands of dollars that a customer in southeast asia who claimed they didn't get the item. The item was sent signature required. But the signature was not gotten. Paypal froze their account after the customer made a complaint.

Joe, I beg to differ. Negative feedback is used as a tool by both (some) buyers and sellers. the only difference is that sellers have had their option revoked. Sellers who get lots of neg feedback have their future listings pushed down the page even if its due to close shortly. Ebay is in effect directing buyers to sellers with good feedback. it therefore follows if your a quality seller your likely to see buyers bidding on your auctions more. you sound like a pro seller, Some sellers are not

In real life buyers are judged as soon as they enter a store, have you ever heard of "we reserved the right to refuse service?" Or "No shirt, no shoes, no service?" Stores can discern bad and problem shoppers right away, now that buys can't get NEGS, sellers have no idea who or what what whacko they are dealing with.

well think about it, if Ebay had to correct the "retaliatory feedback problem" they could have 1) ban/suspend/delete/ any proof of such practices, or 2) force sellers to leave feedback first, then buyers can feedback only after sellers have done so, how can sellers retaliate if they have to feedback first? Like I've said I've been on since 1999, and few months ago I had a NPB and when I contacted him he couldn't care less. I was pretty floored and pretty shocked, he just wasted about 17 days of my time and business (7 days for auction, I give 10 days to pay) and he couldn't give a flying Fvck!

Here's an idea. Why dont we all create a minimum of 10 new ebay accounts, find power sellers, buy an item, leave negative feedback and repeat! If enough of us did this it would really highlight the stupid feedback change. The power sellers be going mad about it and ebay will be hit with complaints and hassle having to refund fees. If we get enough people doing the same it will make the whole feedback system a shambles. Much better than striking.

The people that leave eBay are driving up the competition for those that stay. The buyers will end up paying higher prices. Their master plan might very well be working to raise the values of items. I learned about two years ago that I needed to diversify. I started my own site. I advertise on google, yahoo, msn, eBay, onlineauction, etc... eBay is still our main source of income. I love eBay. It bought my house, my car and kept my wife and I home with our kids for the past 6 years. I'm just not too fond of who is driving it. That is why I suggest buying up eBay shares as a group.

Things are changing including good sellers moving to new sites like bidville ecrater and ioffer. Ebay listings are down by 2 million. I wish ioffer get thier s#%t together thier site has 2.5 million listings and is #2. Bidville is #3 with 1 million eCRATER is #4 at just under 1 million.

I think craigslist (CL) should build an auction site. They have been rather hands off when it comes to being big brother.  I also like that they are not a giant public traded company like google (who you suggested in your other video for making an auction site).

CL should make people use their own hosting for photos and video to cut down on cost. Also charge a flat 3-5% of the final value fee in commissions with a flat $1 fee to list items.
