  • I play this with my grandma :D lol.

  • I think this is awesome.

  • The song is meant for cello and violin. It was just played on a double bass.

    Shut up now :)

  • thats not a cello -.-'

    thats a goddamn double bass.

  • The piece is called "piece for violin and cello" and it's by chris wind who has a website (google chris wind it's the first site). You can find an email address there.

  • Where can i find sheets for this?

  • I enjoy this way too much. Probably more than I should.

Is it okay for music to make you laugh uncontrollably?

  • ... i preffer i higher pitched song when played on a violin (its like my fav instrument my seconds the bass)

  • oooooooooookay, thats pretty strange, but u gotta admit the players are pretty good just a kinda weird song oh well go ahead and mark this spam i dont care just saying what im thinking right now.

  • since its a double bass or contrabass or wadeva why is ur title of the video Duet for Violin and Cello?

  • The original piece was scored for a violin and cello i think.

  • What song is this called?

  • You guys are AWESOME! I love the bass part!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually, that's a Contra bass. Double bass is played with fingers, and contra bass is played with a bow.

    Anyway, great music. luv it!

  • uhm ok. right so "contrabass" is used in orchestras, not double bass...

~Yeah that'd explain alot of thing

    ... no, not really.

  • I play the Double Bass, and it doesnt matter how you play it, its still a double bass, Contrabass, Kontrabas etc are simply the same thing in another language. Some people use the italian form, but in the UK everyone calls it the Double Bass.

  • yes thanks europeanenglishman for stating the obvious. But as a cellist myself, i would LOVE to inform you that, double bass and cello's read the same clef, thus, cellos AND basses can play the same score.

  • Nice!

  • That is not a cello. It is a double bass.

  • where did you get this music? I would love to learn this for my cello....although it sounds pretty awesome on bass!!!

  • Rather small bass. :) And whoever said that this must be hard "to play this piece on a bass".. I'm not sure what that is suppose to know. There is a small differance in the level of difficulty for playing songs on different instruemnt (unless it's piano to kazoo, or something. (= ) It actually seems like a rather easy bass part.

  • trust me, this bass part is not easy. haha. its really hard to get the intonation right for all that jumping (the space between notes are wider on a bass thus, fingering is not the same as it is in cello) =P

  • I would say that it's a 1/2 size bass. I played this with Pho last year in HS. The piece is relatively easy except when you get to the appregios. I think the piece is much easier to play on cello since it's much easier to play appregios on a cello (tuned in fifths) than on d.bass (tuned in forths). However, there are some crazy hard pieces for the bass too like the infamous Zignueweiser(gypsy airs)played on bass but it's originally for the violin. Each instrument has it's own difficulty.

  • woww gjj

  • wow good job guys~ hahha

  • Chris Wing is a Canadian Composer so it may be hard to find this piece

  • the name of the piece is in the title lolll

it's actually 'Duet for Violin and Cello (or two kazoos) - Chris Wind'

  • what is the name of this piece?

  • I play the cello, but I have also messed around plenty with the bases at my school, so I know how hard it must be to play this piece on a bass. Nice work!

  • this piece is performed by violin and a double bass

and double bass is usually found in orchestras as the lowest string instrument

  • that is a bass not a cello.

  • its sounds like a music piece that cuold be added to the Disney movie Fantasia.......it works

  • wuts the differents between a bass and a double bass?

  • bass is short for double bass(duh)

  • oh. i play cello but i dnt know much about the bass. no need to say "duh" like a jackass

  • There is no such instrument as a 'bass', in the strings there are only violins, violas, cellos and double basses.

  • Cool... but that's not a cello, it's a double bass...

  • The piece was originally written for cello. It is performed by violin and double bass here.

  • I like the hand that sticks out to change the page.

  • hahahahahaah

    perry makes me laugh.

  • excellent performance my dear boy but i have to say that the premiere of august 2004 performed by the kazoo "wind" ensemble still puts this to shame

  • not bad. some intonation errors and needs more dynamic / movements! but its good!!
