  • very nice i am building one as we speak. i have change some of the materials to use what is available to me . i learned a valuable lesson in building one with materials that were to light and had terrible vibration. so now i am rebuilding it again. this time i got the steel from online metals . great service by the way .i will forward pictures when it is complete

  • i like the red one better

  • Its a nice grinder. Just one question, why no welding?

I welded a lot on my grinder and I really dont understand why anyone would bother with all those brackets. If you look for it you can find welders under 100EUR. I bought mine for 60 euros and it goes up to 160 amps.

  • Sir, I have the same motor you are using, WEG Farm Duty 1.5 hp single phase. I know you do not give advice on wiring but I am hoping you can make an exception since it appears we have the same motor. I need to know if you use a SPST switch. Please help. Having very difficult time finding info on how to wire. Thank you, Ross

  • How did that tracking block work?

  • Great Job! I've got a commercail one I paid 1200 for 15 years ago ,doesn't run any smoother and is not as versitale as yours.

  • Nicely done, I've built one very similar to yours but I welded it all up and did a few different things with the motor and stand. I'll make a vid for mine when all done. Once again great job!

  • can anybody explain to me , the way the pulley system works , to me it seem s that the wider the pulley at the motor will make it spin faster and the smaller will keep the speed ,,cant visualize it thx jt

  • I've built this grinder from his plans.

His plans are very thorough, they cover all the bases and questions.

You can get all the needed wheels, blocks and belts from his website and very competitive prices. If you have basis skills you'll be up and going in two weekends.

  • that's one of the neatest homemade belt grinders i've ever seen. Did u make jigs for some non fuss hollow grinding? I bet that you would be able to sell those.

  • well, not a V-belt

  • You painted the V-belt :p

Nice grinder, i'm planning to build one next year (spend all my money on my power hammer).

  • that link belt actually is made red, I have the same one.
