frapper: Except that even 2D cartoons today are made by computer, whereas in the past, they not only had charm and variety, but they were all made by caring and loving hands, as opposed to a machine that cannot feel the needs of its given audience. That's the main problem with any animation (but particularly, CGI)...as good as it is, if it lacks heart and soul, it doesn't have the depth of feeling needed to really attract an audience.

randomandproud: One movie doesn't mark a return. Once more cartoons come on the Disney Channel and the teenybopper stuff isn't the only thing on it, then we'll talk.

right.....I just remeber them saying that they were planning on doing more 2D because a lot of people have told them (and I quote) "we just want disney to be disney again."

Then again, "planning to" and actually DOING is totally different, so I won't be getting my hopes up anytime soon. Still, I'll enjoy the new movie for some nostalgia :D

Scooter was just frusterated with Animal because Scoter wanted Animal to have neat animation like good animation is, when all Animal wanted to do was have fun by doing his own thing.

Wow. Animal's messy painting and Scooter's technological animation is about today's CGI animation against the cel animation of the past. When Scooter admits that messy animation is better and getting free from the cage could mean that cel animation can triumph over computer animation. If only that were true in this world.

when I was little I never seen live tv muppets but I always grew up with the cartoon, which touched my heart, and I have seen every episode! I also then felt so happy when the had Muppets Tonight and Saturday Muppets etc. I always loved those 2 old guys who told funny jokes in the balcany. They cracked me up big time! I never saw Nanny's face.... why is that? lol.

How about that exact animation (i.e. CGI) isn't as good as people make it out to be? Hence why Disney should go back to what it was best at--2D animation--before it falls deeper into the abyss it carved for itself.
