OMG I've been trying to pin that piece of music down since I was a child and I'm nearly forty! I can't believe I found it! I love your painting but getting that piece of music has made my year!!! Thank you!
Denise, i didnt know you had this channel also, i used to paint a lot but had to put the canvas on the ground , never managed an easel, you have made a beautifull painting here , the sea is so moody to paint , georgeous Cathy
Thanks scotty and libby. Its a quiet and gentle film showing a misty horizon that continually changes. There are no dramatic riders of the storm here. I would love to paint one of your storms - in safety though.
We have just painted a sea storm and we thought of you guys. We will share the images with you soon. It was a great storm and Clare and I both made exciting paintings. The lovely Tom kindly screwed our canvases down onto a wooden railing so they would not be blown away.
in fact I was expecting Clare to say, "paint faster! I can't hold these waves much longer!"
It as just about a year ago since I was in Spinnaker Tower. Is that close to where you were painting? That is such a magical place for me, if for no other reason... to see ocean, here, is a hard 2 day drive.
Who would watch a 10 minute video? The question is, how many times? This was loverly! The transition between the canvas and the live ocean appeared flawless at times. The sterness in your face was balanced by the relaxing footage of the moving water... and the music was outstanding!
LM was right, it's hard to paint (I would think) something in motion like that...
Just lovely. My aunt Millie's favorite memories were of my dad painting on the porch...by the kitchen window where his mum was making pasta...He would sing Italian arias..and paint while my Nonna..would cook..my aunt said it was idyllic. this is the same thing..
did you get to have some hot tea there too...in a picnic?..Loved the music..yes it was very restful..mum would paint more of the harbour..and boatscapes..than dad..One day soon i will take up the brush for its in me..i am almost there.
Good to hear from you J. Thank you for your kind comments. We will be delighted to feature your music in one of our videos. We simply have to wait and see what presents itself:)
Wyllie is a great painter and master printmaker. This painting worked right from the start. Some days, its quite, quite different, and a struggle indeed.
Dear Dear Girls, Just what the Doctor ordered after a busy day. You have cleverly constructed this video to make a stunningly beautiful, painterly and sensual experience. I was gently guided and shown how to see things in a different way. The light on the water and in the distance changed constantly so goodness knows how you captured it. Congratulations my dears from Miss Violet
That was fascinating! And very, very relaxing! Amazing to see the process..and how you can create such a beautiful representation of that same ocean view!
Great job this video ! I like this music of Eric satie, good choice ! and the video about the painting that the painting of Wyllies is more beautiful than the real sea !!

Those waves just wouldn't listen:)
We were on the walls just outside Portsmouth Harbour - you would have seen them from the Tower. There is some view up there isn't there?
DW and I went up there too, it was very alarming to be so high up, but the view was certainly worth it.
You live so far away from the ocean, sounds very odd to us Islanders.
Wishing you all the best:)

The sea is in continuous movement and is much difficult to pick a single "moment".
You are really a very good artist.
Sorry for my poor english :)

You are right LM, it is quite a task to capture the single moment.
Your English is perfecto:)
All the best to you.

About tea - you know what?
This must have been the first day ever we didn't stop for our tea. We worked away - rain was forecast, and it did arrive:)

Thanks AJ. Yes 10 minutes is a bit much for YouTube, but we thought we'd put it up anyhow.
This film is made for screening at the art gallery in The Netherlands.
It's quite a relaxing ten minutes though. Thanks for staying with it. All the best to you and the lovey N.
