To further recount the night queens took Halifax...following the show, Moogison played at a local bar called the Sea Horse. My friends band Broken Ohms was also on that bill. They did some of their own stuff and an entire Kyuss tribute set. Its was pretty sick. I think they were hoping to attract Josh down to club to play a few songs but as I understand it, Halifax was the last stop on the Canadian tour and they were on a plane an hour after the show. Search on YouTube, Broken Ohms Kyuss.
I saw them in Haifax in the fall of 2007 and they did this and You Can't Quit Me Baby sort of back to back. It wasn't quite as organized as this cuz they were fuckin gooned out of 'er. My buddy got backstage and said there was mad coke flying around. All in all a great show with Moogison opening.
If you like QOTSA you must check out Spinnerette. You will love it.
Spinnerette rocks, I have heard all that Brodie has produced. I partied with queens in Boston. That show rocked, and I got to meet all the guys (pictures), smoked a leftover jay with Mikey not to mention all the free coronas and snacks. They were so cool they even signed a free shirt and poster for me before they graced the Orpheum with their presence
How how how did you manage to get to meet them!?!?! I've been to a couple of gigs (in the UK) and have really wanted to meet them so hard! What do I need to do next time they tour, because Josh is a genuine hero of mine!
Hang around outside the gig, usually while they're loading up their gear. I live in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and a few of us stayed after the show. We met the whole band, got to talking to them and all that jazz. They're completely down-to-earth people, despite their status, which, methinks, is f'n-a.
. I came pretty close to bringing the band to my college but there was not enough time, they needed two days to get all the gear across to Toronto. Honestly, one of the beastiest nights ever, as my buddy told Josh Homme before we split, you are the personification of rock n roll, funny cuz my buddy too is a ginger but its fucking true, you should see my picture with him and you would understand. I have high hopes for next desert sessions.
I still come back to watch this at least once a day... This is my faveorite version of this song ever.. even better than the DVD one... id only they chose this concert to film.
@mondin777 ROCK BAND 2. O_o Where do you live, in a cave? Also, yes. This would be the most epic piece of music to grace the RB catalog, even beyond The Who Superbowl Medley and Neil Peart's Canadian Hockey Theme.
@DiaboroYuzuhamon there is way better stuff to grace the RB catalog unless you're talking about something live, then this song would be awesome live. I think the live version of Auto Pilot or Better Living Through Chemistry would be better, and the studio version of FMTaSaD would be great on the catalog.
@Schloonktapooxis Regular John Live from Era Vulgaris would be orgasmic. But yeah, the final version of The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died along with that are the finest two pieces of music I've ever heard out of QotSA.
Indeed, that was the best QOTSA vid I've seen on YT. I have probably seen them 12+ times, never heard them play that song live :( Thanks Mondin777
I think they played better living in nyc, i know for sure they did the night b4 in boston cuz i filmed it. They deff did not play mexicola in boston or nyc.
unbelievable display of skill , this is d reason ppl say QOTSA revived rock!
