  • Very nice...I wish more people would open up to his message...

  • Cool vid..

Where is that footage from btw?

  • In the immortal words of Bill Murray, "It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter!!"

  • Good job... the human being is oblivious to what they can not see, they cannot fathom or dare think how truly insignificant we are, if they only could understand, then maybe... I would hope...just maybe... there could be Peace.

  • so weird, I just watched contact online this morning, then came across this by accident looking on youtube for something else. Wicked video man. Thats what I"m talking about.

  • Greatest Magus of our generation!

Many souls will perish due to his great deceptions simply of the mind.

    A Thelemic legend...

  • Excuse me?

  • @sp4c3m0nk3ygl33k

If the price for significance is as simple as infinite oblivion then you can take your heaven, you can take your religions, you can take your promises of salvation and eat them. This universe is my home, this galaxy my neighborhood and this planet my house. If, In my own house, I made a noticeable fraction of the difference Carl sagan has made, then I would take oblivion, And leave you to your whitewashed clouds. I may have misunderstood your comment though.

  • @sp4c3m0nk3ygl33k are you a religious person? why do you call Carl Sagan a deceiver? and how do you know we have souls? maybe it's you that has been deceived and are now a deluded person because of religion. You failed to understand this amazing message from Carl Sagan.

  • I do agree, it is one of the better videos of the "pale blue dot" on youtube. I hope you all know the video zooming out is from the film Contact. Carl Sagan wrote the book Contact, which was then made into a movie-directed by Robert Zemeckis. I recommend that you all read everyone of Carl Sagan's books and watch Contact.

  • Agree with you. Carl Sagan's Cosmos was my favorite TV show. I read Carl Sagan, I watched Contact. He's my hero. And I'm not a nerd.

  • kind of makes you want to quit your job dont it.

  • this video gives me goosebumps just wathcin it. how insignificant we really are in the grand scheme of things. the size of the universe blows my mind

  • Makes the Roman Empire look significant. And my overly up himself director at work (2 levels higher than me) thinks he has conquered the known world because he can Lord over 100 staff members and makes their lives miserable with his pathetic threats. Yeah dude...watch this and see how almighty you are. So next time someone gives us a hard time in life or acts holier and mightier than thou....give them this video to look at. Might sober them up a bit. Failing that...let their car tyres down.

  • but don't forget we are also very big, remember what all the astrophysics always tell us, we are star stuff, the universe is in us, we are made of the same exact stuff, feel big, but don't think we are special

  • it breaks my heart to know how small

my little pale blue dot really is.

  • Can't stop watching this video.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you Carl...

  • well made, check out my pale blue dot. Awesome.

  • I think .. that's the most beutiful pale blu dot video on youtube .

  • What software did you use??? Great vid.

  • brilliant video, can you send it to me/give me link to somewhere you uploaded it to? (not a flash player vid like youtube)

  • well done.

    playlisted

  • Brilliant..

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you.

  • No, thank you.

  • We can never have too many PBD's. Thanks. And check out my Carl Sagan tribute videos. All original video.

  • Hey, thanks for the comments. I actually poked around a few of your vids the other day! Now you made me feel bad because I didn't leave you a comment!! When I eventually make the pilgrimage to visit carl, you will be my cartographer. Thanks.

  • Well go and leave comments then and make us both happy. Oh yeah, and 5 stars, natch! Are you serious about going to visit Ithaca?
