I have been to Liverpool many times and I love the city and have great friends there. Yes, there is deprivation there, same as in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Belfast, Derry etc, but Liverpool has given me lots of positives. The people are friendly and helpful. I love the Scouse accent; it's quite funny and I've never had a problem in it. There are many misconceptions and stereotypes about Liverpool but one has to go there and meet the people and obtain a fair analysis on the city. Liverpool Rocks!!!

It was swiftly removed though. God knows how they did it, they must have had huge ladders. And possibly be painter decorators too!

Thanks for showing this very informative video. It reminds me why I laugh at the snide remarks people use about Liverpool. Anyone can go to any city and do a vid just like this but, maybe they are not as famous! Never mind you jealous pricks at least we are no worse than anywhere else but we are so much better than most.

Firstly- shit camera work. Secondly- only showing one small pocket of the city. Thirdly- it's obviously been made by arsey southern students, most probably around Kensington. Forthly- most cities have areas like this and most cities have areas of dire poverty. This video says nothing about Liverpool, it does however give a snap shot of a poverty ridden country which will most likely get worse in the next few years.

I have to say, having travelled and lived all around the country, that Liverpool is no worse than any other big city. It seems, though, that its socical problems are used as a stick to beat them with as opposed to others, usually be idiotic football fans.
I found London, Leeds and Newcastle to be the worst for sheer poverty and dereliction, yet the latter two, like Liverpool, also had the more friendlier people.

filth. Liverpool never strikes me as much different to any city. Travel half a mile from the gleaming centre of any of them and you'll find the same broken buildings and run-down surroundings. I suppose the city has it's uses in allowing people from miserable, sterile dumps in the south to feel superior. Funny they never voice criticism until they're safely away though.

It's simple, These images show the deprivation and hardship faced by Scousers in their daily lives due to their poverty-stricken mess of a city.
In comparison to London where people have jobs and money, therefore don't need to be on the dole. The streets are not run down and littered with little kids threatening to smash your car windows in!

@h60562 true london has got a higher crime rate i use 2 live in peckham ow i live in da wirral (across the river mersey from liverpool) in between lpool n cheshire but the housing from like maybe seathforth or bootle in Lpool (i think im not sure if thats sefton tbh) to maybe like brombarough rake is like shit holes cept places like oxton, port sunlight spita-maybe- n eastham, but the crime rate isnt as bad but personally i reckon none of the places that have problems are really noticed by the G

Personally, I can't tell the difference between this scenario and other cities. Liverpool is a Working Class- mostly deprived city that's been neglected by 'Eton-boy' dominated politics in London for generations and generations. Most Working Class cities in Britain are like this... including most of urban London. To say that Londoners don't need to claim benefits and they don't have 'feral kids' is a lie.
