In 1994, when he was in Hong Kong, his long-term relationship with his girlfriend failed. He was depressed and used alcohol and drugs to comfort him, which he later gave up and returned to his career.

He has 2 sons from a past relationship and previous marriage, but currently he lives in with his girlfriend and their 2 year old son in Manila.
