@johndgray1 wow pup! that was a good one, u dumb shit i was complmenting him and u turn it in ti hate wtf is wrong with u its people like u that ruin youtube
@StinkyPoop1000 i saw the buggles live in 79 and at this concert in 2004 and the oh oh girls were the the same 2 women . so dont worry about them being hot just enjoy their voices i doubt you could find better back up singers with thier range and longevity anywhere in the history of music , so i guess your user name reflects your knowledge and personality quite precisely, in the future keep your stupid attempts at humor to yourself please, dummy
Very very nice....the sound is reminiscient of Yes ...I love those big sound systems..and this song is a great reference for live playing/live sound. Woould love to have been there :)
You are right, this is a masterful live performance! It is refreshing to see an artist care about how they perform live and make the effort to do it as well (or better) than when they recorded a song in the studio.
The performance on this video is just about amazing – as several others have mentioned, Because of this YouTube entry, I actually bought the DVD. When playing the extras for the disc, I discovered two interesting things. The first is that the audio track was post produced by Trevor Horn and another guy (not unusual). The second and most ‘disturbing’ thing, was the documentary. You can hear audio from the concert, and (especially) the vocal performances was way off what is presented here…
Only one thing would make this better. If Linda Jardin turned toward Debi Doss during Debi's solo, and put her hands out, like "Ladies and Gentlemen, Debi!" That would "make up" for Linda (who played "Video" in the original vid) dissing Debi (who played "Radio.")
The Buggles had another song that was really good that they had done at that show, it used to be on youtube, however, i cannot locate it anymore! LMK Folks!
@0pticalMagic You refer to 'The plastic age'. Should be very easy to find if there ain't some 'this video is not available in your country'-trick in it.
Oh my god!!! this is how the things rich the perfection on a stage, just wonderful... thanks for share, all this show was an unforgettable... look for more of it
First opportunity of watching this video was in-flight video services of ANA (Japanese airline, "The Best Hit U.S.A. (?), Time Machine Special"). After long time, I listened this song and I acknowledged the goodness of this tune again (especially, the lyrics).
The first time I heard this song was on radio Monte Carlo in the Middle East in the early 80's. Certainly brings back great memories. The quality of the video is only surpassed by the awesome performance. After all these years, they continue sound amazing! Thank you for this great post.
A classical masterpiece of the modern music, they mark the very beginning of the new age... the world is different since this ... new generations should refer to this masterpiece as the song hymn to the modernity and the new age
I remember seeing this when MTV first started in 1981. Awesome song then and still awesome now! Says a lot that a group is still great after all these years.
"And now we meet in an abandoned studio...we hear the playback and it seems so long ago" This must be the ultimate nostalgia trip for us children of the 70s.
When I found this some months ago I was floored it was so good. With Geoff Downs, Trevor Horn and the 2 original back up singers, they haven`t performed this together in over 20 years yet it sounds like they just released it a month ago. This is one of those rare live performances that`s rated as good as it gets. Outstanding performance. Absolutely A-1.
Holly shit i tought trevor lost his voice but thank god i'm wrong i close my eyes and it's the same voice, exactly the same, thank god he produced robbie in RKVS a great job by them
The close to the edit live track was nearly as good a live performance of pop music as I have ever seen, the drummer was first class plus trevors baseline
I bought the dvd on the back of it so a shame the copyrighters pulled it, these tracks do generate sales, tust the consumer, we are not all bad

This is in the same vein, isn't it?
"They took the credit for your 2nd symphony, rewritten by machine with new technology, and now I understand the problems you could see"
And from the song "Elstree": "There's no technology to fake up a song, they stop the orchestra if you get it wrong".
Makes me just a little wistful, I don't know why.
