@mailtoome1 The bike is completely stock other than this. I haven't had any issues with it yet. I have heard of others with this problem though, the only thing I can think of is that my bike may be a few years older than most that I've seen with issues after this mod. Maybe the older bikes are running some different tuning that take this mod better?
Great video, well done. As a welder I want to my own "drummer" or "Special Ops" pipe but I want to make a conical tip going straight out the back shooting hot air on the rear tire. Get it sticky for racing.
@epitelionew, I think this is basically what drummer would do if you sent him your muffler. I can't say for certain as I have never seen his work first hand. In pics and on his website fabrication skills do appear to be top notch to me though.
@jakewade187..It will backfire every now and then, but its not bad...I don't feel like it backfires any more than it used to though, its just louder. As for the heat, I have no idea, it really shouldn't make a difference. Nothing that I took out would have a cooling effect that I can think of.
thanks so much for posting this, looking forward to the follow up vid. also do u need a power commander? Or anything like that? i have an 03 xb9s and would love a beefier sound.
I don't have a power commander yet, but I would eventually like to get one. I've heard others say you need one when you mod the exhaust, but here is my take on it. It is a Harley engine, think about how many Harleys are running on straight pipes with no other mods...The only power difference I've noticed is a decrease in engine breaking when downshifting. If you have any weekend wrenching experience at all, go for it...Its worth it.
Thanks. I installed the stock map n now its working much better. Tps reset helped a lot. At 5.5%
