In the UK, Big Brother was all about people being trapped in a house under the complete control of Big Brother, but the US version is all about strategy. So both the titles fit the feeling of the shows.

Also, as I stressed, I'm not really much of a fan of the shows themselves, I was really only talking about the theme tunes and visual style primarily. The "presentation" side of things.

And I was not actually saying "better" in the sense you're taking it. I just meant that the UK version is more appropriate to the Orwellian context.

I just prefer the Orwellian edge from an aesthetic point of view and I personally think this is the better theme tune (but musical taste is, I fully concede, most definitely a "personal taste" issue).

In fact if you look at everything in UK Tv its better qaulity picture and our theme songs are better because america and aus put effects over the recorded TV film which i think dims the picture
We dont overlay effects over our TV in the Australia. We have the same TV recording tech as the UK, it's called PAL.
The US however uses NTSC tech which is older and runs at a slightly lower definition. So thier NTSC feed doesnt convert very well when viewed on our PAL TV's & thats why it looks "dull" to us. However over in the US the TV shows look the same on their TVs as ours do.
the reason we dont have the names of the contestants or clips of them because at the beginning of the show we're not allowed to know who they are or what they are like and there are no clips of them b4 they go in the house becuz they not gone in yet, theres nuffin 2 show plus its a whole different format to USA version, as usual, try b different 2 every 1 else!~
i like the US Big Brother opening so much better. the UK version doesn't even show the faces and the names of the contestants. theres just a bunch of weird shit going on, kinda gives me a headache. though the music is kinda cool, but i like our old "soap opera" music much better.
We don't have the contestants faces on the opening titles because
a) normally new housemates come in halfway through etc
b) sometimes original housemates walk
c) its very... soap-ish

Dude, who cares where "1984" was set? If you think Orwell had this reality show in mind when wrote it, you're crazy. Plus "1984" is published in America too, you know. I think our show is better because the UK one is barely edited, there's not even a musical score and the public voting is lame. I do think the producers get too involved over here, but voting each other out is wayyy better. IMHO!

I was suggesting that the makers of this reality show had Orwell in mind - the other way around.
Actually, I don't think either version is "better", per se, and that was not remotely my point.
Each version is "equal but different" and I was merely commenting that the UK version has aspects that better reflect and play on the Orwellian theme.

Also, as I stressed, I'm not really much of a fan of the shows themselves, I was really only talking about the theme tunes and visual style primarily. The "presentation" side of things.
Of course, aesthetics are always a matter of personal opinion. One man's beauty is another man's ugly.

I just prefer the Orwellian edge from an aesthetic point of view and I personally think this is the better theme tune (but musical taste is, I fully concede, most definitely a "personal taste" issue).
Thank you, though, for your opinion. It was interesting to hear it and whichever version of the show you prefer, I hope you gain enjoyment from watching it. :D

It is not necessary for everyone in the world to love America. Nor, for that matter, the UK or any other nation on Earth. Really, it isn't necessary.
If you personally feel the UK is a steaming pile of shit or whatever, then, fine, you're entitled to your opinion on that.

In fact if you look at everything in UK Tv its better qaulity picture and our theme songs are better because america and aus put effects over the recorded TV film which i think dims the picture

We dont overlay effects over our TV in the Australia. We have the same TV recording tech as the UK, it's called PAL.
The US however uses NTSC tech which is older and runs at a slightly lower definition. So thier NTSC feed doesnt convert very well when viewed on our PAL TV's & thats why it looks "dull" to us. However over in the US the TV shows look the same on their TVs as ours do.

the reason we dont have the names of the contestants or clips of them because at the beginning of the show we're not allowed to know who they are or what they are like and there are no clips of them b4 they go in the house becuz they not gone in yet, theres nuffin 2 show plus its a whole different format to USA version, as usual, try b different 2 every 1 else!~

i like the US Big Brother opening so much better. the UK version doesn't even show the faces and the names of the contestants. theres just a bunch of weird shit going on, kinda gives me a headache. though the music is kinda cool, but i like our old "soap opera" music much better.

We don't have the contestants faces on the opening titles because
a) normally new housemates come in halfway through etc
b) sometimes original housemates walk
c) its very... soap-ish
I love the UK BB credits! & our presenters are the best! Davina McCall for the main show and Dermot O'Leary for Big Brothers Little Brother (the side show)

Eeerrrr!!!!!! you're wrong... Big Brother was created in Netherlands in 1999 by John de Mol [Endemol's creator]. Officially the 1st BB in earth was in Netherlands. Then in 2000 Germany adquires the format, until BB arrives to UK...
