@TheZombieRebellion I've been on that fence. One thing that tipped it for me all the obvious factors taken into consideration, was that the scout is compatible with standard M1As as far as replacement parts, whereas the socom isn't. Just what I read, but it tipped the scales for the scout.
Watched part 1 also, I really appreciate the video! I have the M1A scout also...I was looking for a scope with LER for a while. I was originally looking at leupold's for 300....but I now, now Im going to go with the leatherwood. Thanks man!
Funny to recognize that you're shooting at my favorite range--we're lucky to have it. Regarding the Hi-Lux, I've been wondering about a scout scope for my vz58 and this might be the one due to its affordability and apparent quality. With the Leupold rings, it seems like a winner. Nice review and looking forward to more videos.
computers around the globe fear you!!.. looks real good man.. def got me thinking about one now.. i found some old footage of the scout that i may put out there soon..its nothing spectacular..lol
@lskw1 Yes, they will fear me! I've got those three disks in my office now, just to prove to clients that we take data removal seriously. Yeah man, put that shiit up! I'm always looking for more M1A footage!
@GunznGear I don't inherently like the aesthetic of the forward mounted optic, but on this rifle it is actually growing on me quite a bit. I really like how the huge amount of eye relief allows me to pick up the cross-hairs in almost any position, using a cheek weld anywhere on the stock..
@BigJ782011 No idea bro. I'm not experienced with Eotechs at all. Probably going to get one very soon, but not for the M1A. People do put rd's on the Scout though.. I know that, so it seems like it should be fine.
@ArtisanTony Honestly, I absolutely prefer the rifle without optics, but for any kind of serious distance, my eyes are just too old and crappy. Also, if I'm going to hunt with this bad boy, I want to offer a clean kill.. With my eyes, I might shoot at the engine room and end up with a butt shot.. ;)
@ITHINKUREALESUK Thanks buddy.. Hope you are enjoying the lack of "UMM" this year.. haha. I made myself a New Year's resolution to try and get that out of my videos entirely.. It's awkward as heck, but I'm glad to be getting it under control.. haha.
I love it man that thing is awesome you did a good job on that! Ive been looking at .308 rifles I was going to build the AR10 but I fell in love with the HK PTR 91 I think it will be mine before 2012 is over. We still on for Saturday?
@TheJmac1983 Thanks bud. Yes, I think Saturday is going to be good for me. I was having some problems with my Vortex Strikefire this weekend, and I had a good win in a poker game, so I may well be in the market for an Eotech or Aimpoint. You think your buddy would be the best price for something like that?
@noBuzzkillin Yes he will hook you up for sure he usually has a really good selection of those sights and since I just had him build me another upper he was really happy about me coming back to him for that

Nice follow-up review. I am glad you are doing this with this type of rifle. I have A Springfield 1903 that will need a scope. However it has a leaf style site and there are scope attachments that place the scope far forward like the Scout. So This review is totally relevant. Also, that rifle is a beast! One big bad boy. Editing and music is excellent.
@enriquesonora1500 Thanks buddy. This is a true wolf in sheep's clothing.. many people think its a vintage or even WW2 rifle, and not a modern battle rifle. I love that! Haha.. As for the scope, everything so far is a thumbs up, ESPECIALLY for the price.
Again, that is absolutely beautiful rifle. Have been looking foreword to this video since part 1. When I get the chance I would truly love to pick up a M1A scout and pair it with a similar optic. The M1A, in this configuration, could fill so many different roles and seems like it could accomplish just about anything
@boxdoutfoot Thanks very much. I waited about 4 years before I finally got this one.. its always been my favorite rifle, aesthetically (just the M-14 in general). I'm very happy to have this one.
@GARYMANDIEVAN I look forward to my first hunt some time this year hopefully.. If you think its a sufficient rig for that, then I'm sure it'll do just fine.. thanks for watching brother.
I am on the fence, the M1A Socom or M1A Scout Squad.........which do you recommend?
