@skippy999999 The water does touch you, repellent does not equal no touch. The syrup on the shoe is not floating over it, it is sliding off. And gravity is shown in the video that a force would still influence the outcome. The chocolate pooled up when the shoe was flat and slid to the floor when the shoe was tilted. The man is strong enough to hold the shoe up vs. gravity....that would not be the case if it was hit by a chocolate syrup fire hose. Fun and messy to watch, but the shoe would drop.

Merely looks great. Surface is is actually nanoscopically "rough" with lots of sgarp peaks. So, treaed surface cannot withstand any form of gard rubbing/scrubbing/abrasion. Also, due to this roughness, staining cd be a problem . Water repellancy is un-related to "ease of staining". On a treated car, you definitely can't claybar it anymore.

I've been looking for waterproof stuff for swimming. Looks like this may work in the future - although they are careful to call it water repellent, so maybe not.

RainX is hydrophobic. I have a similar coating on my windshield and the droplets just sit on the windshield. Not a bad product though.

NeverWet is superhydrophobic. If I used this instead the droplets would roll away which is even better.
