important to all lc9 owners. when you manually cock the gun with an empty magazine the slide hold open will not go all the way up which sometimes makes it snap back and hurt you if u hand ur finger in the chamber, this doesnt happen when ur shooting the last round because the cocking is so hard or if u have to cock it manually with the magazine up make sure you cock it all the way backwards with a Little power. Please let me know.
after viewing ur video ur gun is doing the same as mine the slide hold open doesn't securely lock the gun when your doing it manually with an empty magazine. Please take a look at the video when you cocked ur gun with an empty magazine and see how the slide hold open didn't' go all the way up, i mean it barely secured the gun, this happened with me twice after i cocked it the gun snapped twice.
i cheeked one of these out yesterday it had the longest trigger pull I had ever seen. maybe i am just a glock baby but ya long pull. in retrospect not a bad thing i can stage it 3/4th in one pull and then fallow threw. when i first tried to stage it i thought the trigger would never stop going back lol good gun though i am sure once you practice with it .
LC9 has a lot of useful features but I HATE the manual safety.
It's totally unnecessary. Lawyer-crap that clutters up the operational simplicity you need in a good defensive handgun. There's a reason Glocks and Kahrs don't have a manual safety.
Ruger got it right with the .380 LCP design -- no manual safety or other unneeded features. Point and pull. It's a shame they screwed up the LC9. If they have to make a separate model for states like Mass., then they should do that. Kahr does.
Just a question out of curiosity. I have not carried in my back pocket. Have you, or can you sit down on the pistol while it's in you back pocket? Just wondering how that scenario works.
I know a lot of people say good things about the LCP, and I own one, but my LCP always has problems, and it's not one of the recall models. I know this is an LC9, but just saying. It never wants to feed smooth. A lot of times I have to hit the slide for it to feed, with any kind of round. Does the barrel need polished? It makes me not want to carry it, but I love the size of it. It has had over 300 or 400 rounds thru it, and it never used to have this problem at first. Anyone have advice?
I have the LCP, the only two negatives I've found about the LC9 is the "loaded chamber indicator" and the size as compared to the LCP. that loaded chamber indicator when up can SNAG if you decide to wear in front pocket. which would make for a not clean draw. And I just prefer the smaller size of the LCP. but other then those it's a great pistol, love that it has a safety.
Awesome informative video... the auto focus noise your camera was making it a little annoying, but still a great video despite the extra camera noise.
Nice review, as a little bit of feedback, some day you might want to invest in a small photography lamp (about $50 at most) which will give you some better lighting, and make your videos look less yellow.
As for weapons, In about 9 months when I'm 18, I think I'll get a KelTec PF9, simply because it's such high value, 9mm is usually a less expensive round to fire and practice with, and I'll be able to EDC the PF9 when I get my permit.
@MrSwiftndeadly As I mentioned in the video, this gun does have a very long trigger pull. With practice at the range you get use to the trigger pull. It's does have some snap to the weapon when fired, but again you just need to practice. This gun may not be for everyone. My mom shot it and doesn't like it at all.
how is the shootability of the LC9, i had a sig 380, that just kicked so much, well it was worse than any larger bore weapon i have shot, a fast snap that made it not very accurate

Nice gun, I just picked one up. Also, a little FYI, Sig is using plastic guide rods now as well.

Re: the pin. Ruger provides two "keys" with the LC9. They are used on the right side of the slide to push out the pin. A lot easier that way.

I fondled one at the gun show, it's really nice!
I was really thinking of getting one until I realized that my 3 inch barreled Kimber is very close in size, I'm gonna stick with the .45 for now :D

@1AbominAble1 gotta love the .45

@thecajunblaze would this be good for a first pistol since it has a good pricetag and a good rep?
krazy4knives 8 months ago
@krazy4knives Depends on what you want your first handgun for. Personal carry weapon or home defense?
thecajunblaze 8 months ago
@thecajunblaze does the lc9 have metal frame rails that the slide "slides on"?

Hello Sir.
Just a question out of curiosity. I have not carried in my back pocket. Have you, or can you sit down on the pistol while it's in you back pocket? Just wondering how that scenario works.
Thank you!

@auradud3 It does have a long trigger pull and a nice little snap once fired, but with practice you will find that sweet spot.

@gentry827 Haha, it does have a little snap.

nice vid blaze. I'm wondering because the LC9 has the safety, is the trigger pull still very long long the LCP or is it easier to the break?
pmprydr 8 months ago
@pmprydr Fits better in the hand, but still has a long trigger pull.
