man i hate to crash the party, but this is certainly not evidence that guile has potential in this game. Hiko is the second best guile player in japan. Emilio - prolly not even top 50 sagat (cant find much on em). And do u guys notice how hard Hiko had to work to win? 2nd best guile + near perfect performance +still barely ended up winning both rounds = only goes to show how LITTLE potential guile has in this version.

No don't worry bro. You're not crashing anything. What you say is a respectable point.

But I want to say why I DO think this is decent evidence that guile has potential in this game.

If you've ever played the game of chess and watched some annotations of brilliant and instructive games, you'll notice that it doesn't always require to be a game from most-famous chess Gmasters. The good moves are only good based on how it handled the given situation.

Which is why, every time I play a game of chess, I'll only be excited to save the games in which I've made instructive moves. There were a few times in which I've made the best, hard-to-find move, and I'm not even close to being a Grand Master.

If you apply it to this match you'll see it's the same. Because every response this Guile gave was only brilliant based on how it handled the given situation. Now, I'll admit that not many Guiles play good offense like this guy does, but I believe it at least shows what people can aspire to be when starting to play Guile.

I've seen some Niconico, Yoshiwo, and Furansujin. Not all... but this is by far the best Guile video I've seen thus far.

It's enlightening to know that Guile can play this well as a character on SF4.

I have actually been considering picking up Guile as a secondary character to my Honda after watching all these awesome Guile players.

I was always under the impression Guile just couldn't stand against fireball spam, and that he HAD to be defensive. For some reason, an offensive Guile is terrifying... :D

lol, you're absolutely right. Defensive Guiles you can work them time and time again with conservative play and fireballs, but man, the other day, I played one which was purely offensive.. it was the scariest thing I've witnessed yet. Almost gives me nightmares.

So I agree. Guile has much potential in this game.

Thanks man, I will be picking him up soon! Unfortunately I have been playing sf4 less and less recently. Just finding it very frustrating, and I can only ever play online on the PC version, so getting games is difficult, and I am sick to DEATH of Ryu and Sagat :(

Can't wait for SSF4, hope it's better in that respect :D

But I think mak is right in the sense that you're not going to find many instructive videos like this for Guile, like say how you would for someone like Gouki, Viper, Rufus, and Ryu; especially Gouki. But if you know what to aim for (aggressive Guile play), I'm confident you'll make good potential progression.

Well... For the second half about you saying he's not better than NicoNico. I have to say this one is almost twice in bp and is the second highest ranking Guile...And considering what he just did here... I'd totally have to disagree.

Ur right about BP being twice than Nico, but doesnt mean he's still better. For example, their are a lot of Japanese players that have low win ratio: K66, Taison Maeda, PPN, etc. and yet they kill their opponents. Mostly likely due to sticking with their old cards.

The reason why I think NicoNico's Guile is better is b/c of his play style. Not saying a rush in Guile isn't effective but the way Nico plays, I think it's a hella lot annoying and it can aggravate the opponent thus making mistakes.

@KBoy515 Usually it does mean they're better in all honesty. Low Win ratio and high bp is backed up by their amount of games and who they play. Not locals where they only face those with low bps also. Niconico is just not as good as Hiko or Yazu.
