  • @motizasfulgr I understand Greek dont worry. Stop insulting me and my Greek comrades. Karamanlist is a rightist as well but he also supports international friendship. Everyone who wants human development supports the same think. Dont you know that Ioannidis ordered an attack against Turkey after Cyprus events but his generals didn`t follow the order and Junta collapsed? I dont blame any Greeks and G.Cypriots because you come from Venizelos and Makarios. I just blame Tourkophobics like you.

  • @raconosky hahahahhahaha you you are not against abdulah ochalan.....EEEEEEEE??????? hahahahahahahahahahahaha long live pkk!!!

  • @motizasfulgr Why are you laughing? Are you xazos xaroumenos:)) He is a terrorist because he used guns. If he hadn`t used guns and supported what he thinks democratically, then he would be a hero.

  • @raconosky thats so i think you are against che quevara...??or zapata etc...???hahahhahahahahahahahahahaha now im more xazos xaroumenos because firt time in my life i see a left side -comunist telling me that the guns are not a part of a revolution!!! lol for one more time...(and to improve your greeks) its xazo and no xazos xaroumenos..!!!

  • @motizasfulgr Marx says that, the revolution will happen when the ones who are being oppressed will stop abiding oppressors hegemony. By worker strikes against employers, by soldier reffusals to fight battles and etc. Turkish communist Gezmis executed by the government was demanding freedom for workers and Kurds. He and his friends had killed no one. Those guys were real heroes. Che had his own synthesis of guerilla warfare and Socialism. He was a great revolutionist but not in a Marxist way.

  • @raconosky A revolution may well include guns. And maybe, sometimes,it is essential. Mandela, for instance, was known as a peaceful fighter, but he never expressed disagreement with the fight of black people who did use guns. And how could he?

  • Congratulations to the Greek left for a magnificent victory. Greetings, compañeros.

  • @larean57 victory? What victory? Turks saved Greeks and Greek Cypriots from Junta and introduced democracy to them. However they still indicate Turks as their archenemies and try to do everything that contradicts to Turkish interests. their idiot racists even think that Greeks can conquer Cyprus and attack unarmed Turkish Cypriots who want peace.

  • @raconosky Only by saying that the turks gave us democracy you tell one of the worst jokes. You are a turk (you dont say it btw) and you dont know why turkey is the biggest enemy of Greece... Get informed and then comment!

  • @Taygetos13 I am Turkish Cypriot. The Junta arrested, exiled and killed your own people. They tried to assasinate Makarios, the Cypriot president elected by public votes. Turkish intervention in Cyprus saved you. Were you going to join EU with that fascist Junta government? In Cyprus recently a group of Turkish Cypriots demonstrated for peace in the island and were attacked by a fascist Greek group just because of their Turkish ethnicity. Turks are your friends and you owe them many things...

  • @raconosky i dont know what you are but if you era tha saviors of the cyprous answer me one question please...why if you are so democratic and the tourk people save other countries.... why cant they save their own country???your country still tries to enter tha e.u.(if you forgot that)dont be so stupit...you are just killers!!!nothing more...abdulah ocalan is a hero!!!

  • @motizasfulgr Turks did not intervene into Cyprus to bring Greece democracy. That is for sure. Kurds, leftists and religious people still suffer due to lack of liberties. You are right. But the point is, Ecevit fought against your fascist Junta not against your democratic governments or peoples. I am angry about Greek and Greek Cypriot emnity against us. How can you say that the top list enemy of Turkey is a hero? If Turkish minorty in Greece fights against your state unity, will they be heroes?

  • @raconosky Kurds are fighting for their liberty and national independence against Turkey like many other nation did against Turkey.

There is no turkish minority, according to the aggreement of Lausannes there should be one mousoulman minority in Greece and one Christian minority in Turkey and their populations should stay comparable. So if a mouslim in Thrace feels Turk he has the right to go and live in Turkey. For the treatment of the christians in Turkey no comment....

  • @raconosky First the junta did not fall because of the turkish invasion, it was ready to fall, I don't know if you have any knowledge on greek history (I doubt from what I read).

Second: It's at least crazy that Turkey invaded Cyprus to save Greece from Junta.

Third: Turkish people in Cyprus to my knowledge live in the occupied part of the island, there are no greeks there, at least there are not greek fascist groups.

  • @raconosky Fourth: In modern diplomacy I don't believe in friendship, especially when Turkey threatens with war in case that Greece applies its rights (12 miles), so I would not say that they are my friends. And why do we owe them, did they give something to us (I don't have this information, if you do, please send me a link like in wikipedia to inform me)

Last but not least: Listen to music and read before you post. We are not stupid to accept every myth...

  • Dont you remember how many young students were killed in Athens in 1973? Weren`t all your politicians including Karamanlis and Papandreou in exile? How about the USA support behind the Junta? After Turkish intervention, Ioannides had ordered an attack to Turkey but his commanders didnt follow this order and he was forced to resign. You still say Turkish intervention hasn`t terminate your Junta??

  • @raconosky Please read history in a better way and stop underestimating our understanding.

  • @Taygetos13 Turkish Cypriots were in Greek Cypriot side when they were attacked by Greek fascists. They want peace and reunification that means they will be sent to another region in Cyprus for Greek Cypriots to return to their territories in Turkish Cypriot side, TRNC will over and Turkish army will go back. But G.Cypriot fascists still attack them. Write rainbow festival to youtube and watch if you want.

  • @raconosky Turkish army should stop the OCCUPATION of northern Cyprus before Cyprus becomes unified. Then, who will go where should be dictated by the laws and the right, which means that someone that his house was taken with violence should be able to go back without being obliged to give a house to someone that did not deserve it. Do you protest against the policy of settlers?? I haven't noted it, sorry...

  • @raconosky . I am against fascism and I don't really feel well about their actions, but tell me: What happened finally with the etremely fascistic assasinations that took place in the summer of 1996? Did you ever say anything about this in your land???

And are you sure that festivals like this can be held also in Turkey? For example a festival of Kurds in the capital of Turkey?

  • @raconosky Please do not forget that originaly (before the invation) turks represented less than 18% of the population (check wikipedia)

  • @Taygetos13 It seems that you support PASOK. They allways indicate Junta and Turks as enemies.Turks didn`t want to save you from Junta, but that was the consequence. On the other hand, during German invasion, Turkey sent food packages to you and helped you dont forget. Developing economic relations with Turkey will also help you to resolve your economic crisis. Turks and Greeks are friends. Greek and Turkish Cypriots are friends as well. But your ``Tourkofobia`` didnt allow us to solve problems.

  • @raconosky I laughed a little about PASOK.. No, I'm not one of its fans, nor a fan of LAOS etc, I wouldn't be here if I was. About the turkish aim to Greece during the 2nd WW please give a link to a trusted reference because I don't know it and to be honest I doubt very much. The problem with Turkey and its relations is in its basis a geometric problem: Turkey does understand the relations only vertically. So, if Turkey accepted the application of the international aggrements all would be ok

  • @Taygetos13 The events of 1996 was a bicommunal stupidity show. Greek Cypriot civilians wanted to protest Turkish army and went near they were located. Some extremists even wanted to violate the borders. Turkish Cypriots went to borders as well in order to secure their borders. That time we had Denktas and G.Cypriots had Klerides as presidents. They both are nationalists and did nothing to stop border actions. They even encouraged people to go to borders.

  • @raconosky Police killing people near the borders is just encouragement to go there? Please stop this discussion

  • @Taygetos13 I don`t tell you that I was pleased with the death of two Greek Cypriots in 1996. Vice versa, I am sad about them. However, they both violated the legal UN border, Not the Turkish border and tried to take Turkish flag down. Anywhere in the world, if you do that within such tension they shot you. For the WW II case, I read it on Turkish academic books. Authors are world class men they dont write about unexisting things. I will send somethink in greek or english to you if I find.

  • @raconosky I am waiting for the references

  • @Taygetos13 The problem is that, Greek Cypriots as well need to abide international agreements. For instance Guatantor Treaty. Its between Cyprus, Turkey, Greece and UK. In some cases those countries can intervene and that allows Turkish army to come to Cyrpus. G.Cypriots now want this agreement be abolished. Turkey refuses and it can only be abolished when all those states agrees to do so. G.Cypriots said no to unification in 2004. They dont accept they need Turkish cooperation for solution.

  • @raconosky You forget that this treaty does not allow the occupation.-

I think that Cypriots were free to decide according to their opinions. The big refusal means something.

And regarding the WWII I am sorry but the information I find on the web in non-greek pages do not aggree with your statements

  • @Taygetos13 I also want you to know that, I have too many Greek and Greek Cypriot friends. I even have friends who voted no in 2004. We need mutual understanding and dialoge in order to solve problems. We need to understand and respect what both sides require. Chinese live as 1,5 billions together. In Cyprus we are 1 million. Why we need to be so idiot and cant be able to live in peace and cooperation? May be, collapse of Junta is not a good example, but you need to overcome this Turcofobia.

  • @raconosky OK my friend. I am not turkophobe, I do believe in peace and keep just this and the music of Mikis. Mikis wrote songs for the peace and the democracy and he made great efforts to establish the friendship and the peace. I think that we filled with many messages this video. Now I will enjoy my wine, do the same. :)

  • You can find it in the soundtrack of the film "Z".

  • thanx just got it just ashame theres no lyrics on it .thanx

  • the title of the album is "Mauthausen" for the Greek recording and "The Mauthausen Cantata" for the English/Hebrew version.

The Lyrics are made by Iakovos Kambanellis a survivor of the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp

  • The lyrics of the song , writen by Brendan Behan are refered to the "Eastern Rising" a rebellion staged in Ireland in Easter Week, 1916. The Rising was an attempt by militant Irish republicans to win independence from Britain.

The Rising was suppressed after six days of fighting, and its leaders were court-martialled and executed.

    Merci.

  • April 67 to 74, US sponsored takeover of Greece by the military, thousands disappeared, tortured, and the 73 student protest on Nov 17 when many were killed. This was celebrating after it all was over.

  • I know that, my question was, who takes over those courageous initiatives? Are there new, similar trends in nowaday Greece? And singers/composers? Thank you for your answer, and, if you wish, further informations about nowadays great greek songs (not eurovision, please). And a happy new year!

  • these songs came out of the darkness, you won't find a mass gathering and songs like this in Greece today, because fascism is 'over'.

  • The Yasoo Radio concert in 1996 shows the spirit alive and well, but with Giorgos Dalaras singing, to a huge and loving audience.

My favourite is clip 10. It's America Insurrecta, lyrics by Neruda, music by Theodorakis. The last part of this comes back at the end of clip 11. Definitely not Eurovision!

  • thanks I'll check it out !

  • I just learned that Greek schools and universities are all closed on Nov. 17.

    that's marvellous.

When the US threatened to shut down the Olympics, unless the Nov 17 group was arrested, a whole bunch of people actually were "tried" and jailed for life. There is a big but under-reported controversy.

  • Nov. 17 of 1973 was the day the junta troops sended troops against students protesting inside the Polytechnic school at Athens. That's why schools are commemorating that great act of resistence by the greek youth against tyrrany.

The "17 November" group was a bunch of killers that userped the name and they have nothing to do with spirit of the student uprising.

  • What a beautiful voice. A beautiful language and a beautiful country too.

  • Like Zagorciko, this was such a time and song, I'd love a Greek brother or sister to translate the words of this song!

  • The lyrics are from Brendan Behan, the Irish poet.

    (1st verse)

Who doesn't talk about the Easter, a fest of rejuvenation,

the kids are going to fight, and they are going to die.

With courage have the brave hearts taken control of the narrow passes,

high was the flag waving, and the partisan woman in front.

  • (2nd verse)

Ten thousand of a regular army in green have arrived

to kill the kids, but they have stayed there.

With machine guns and tanks, and lots of cannon,

none of them has returned, and this is not our fault.

  • (5th verse) (as in the original poem, which I couldn't find)

Who fears to speak of Easter Week, that Week of faith renown,

when the boys in green went to fight against the forces of the crown?

  • Great work, nafpaktiakos, thanks. I couldn't find the original poem either.

  • Please a greek brother translate the words of the song

    I'm from turkey,and i'm saying that maria is a greek goddess O'FEOS NAFİLLAHİ(DİD I WRİTE TRUE?)

  • (3rd verse)

One against ten, we had made our stand for days,

and they have not broken the lines, despite all their fire.

They have also cast on us poisonous gas and fogs,

they have burnt our capital, like the Germans.

  • (4th verse)

They have killed our leaders without an excuse,

our women, our little children, in front of their knees.

Silently have they dug the graves, and buried the dead,

but they have neither caught nor killed our faithful rebels.
