nice clip..how many watts are your lights?..i am looking at a conversion kit that is 35 watts and 6000k..yours look like they might be double that..lol
That is actually worse than hunting. Purposely scaring the hell out of a rabbit. In most states it is illegal to harrass wildlife in such a manner. I am a hunter and I leave the rabbits alone. In fact I like it very much when they mysteriously come thru my chain link fence and eat the clover and grass in my aprox. 1/4 of fenced off land for my 7 dogs. I have had 5 cottontails in my yard at a time when the clover is deep. And it makes absolutely no sense that they got thru the fence.
@Syncronisator No, not at all! IT IS A FACT! But domestic cats are a HUGE problem here in the U.S.the way their owners allow them to kill hundreds of millions of wild animals every year. I would rather see coyotes kill cats than see cats kill rabbits. I hunt predators professionally and NEVER hunt rabbits because I would rather leave them alone and let them feed Eagles, Hawks, Raven, Wolves, Coyote, Bobcats, Mountain Lion (Cougars) and other wild animals. Maybe you should import cats. I hate em
@ellora5 Of course! It was a PURE coincidence that i met the rabbit.. But i thought it would be fun 'hunting' the rabbit with an ATV.. So please don't take the headline seriously...;-)
@ellora5 simple answer: if you need longlasting light (powered by battery) you should look for LED work lights. They have a low power consumption and a pretty good light output. If you prefer the highest Lumen/Watt output you should consider HID. Normal filament bulbs have a BAD Lumen/Watt ratio: they produce way too much heat and no light... Regards from Germany!
@05front thanks for the advice but here i just wanted to show my long range HID's... I've got two 35W HID with EUROBEAM but the camera couldn't 'recognize them (see comment from RacerXGTO 3 month ago...)
Wow that is a bad-ass lighting setup haha. With my stock light on my LTR450 I can barely see 10 feet ahead of me in the dark, which isn't very helpful when your quad WANTS you to go fast haha.
I am going to get a PIAA extreme white bulb and see if it makes a difference... if it doesn't I guess it's time to get some HIDs!
you should forget these PIAA's because there's nothing better then HID ;-) just be sure that you buy HID's with 5000 - 6500 Kelvin max. that's the best white and brightest light...
Yeah I decided to forget the PIAA idea...sometime before the summer I will order 2 Trail Tech shock-mounted HID lights and a Quadtech beak that I can put on instead of my stock headlight (which sucks majorly haha).
look the answer 5 month ago i wrote to jonniebdead... The small 35W Hella weren't 'recognized' by the cam: the Lightforces are simply too powerful... ;-) look at the bumper there you can 'see' that there's something switched on ;-) look at my other vids: i'm switching one after the other
the 35W HID need appr. 42W to work (ballast and igniter need some Watts to work), but the light output is three times more then with halogen. Now i have 2x50W HID's: no chinese crap--> Philips DL50! working @ 50 Watts and another pair boosted up to 80Watts. I decided to change the electrical system using a 68AH AGM battery and it's just for the HID's. Meanwhile i need appr. 300W for firing them all. The battery is good for more then 2.5 hours driving with full light power... ;-)
Okay, i just read on a offroad site that HID light should juse 60% less power then halogen spots, and that's why people juse them so the battery wont get jused to fast during driving in the field. But they give a nice bright light to, so that must be a bonus. :)
yes that's right dude... the HID with 5-6k (kelvin) are the best to have the best lumen output related to the color of the HID ;-) I'm able to drive with sunglasses at night: the traffic signs reflect so badly... ;-)
Nice lights indeed! Wouldn't you be better spreading the light instead of one focus point? Personally, the more i can see in front of me while flying through a paddock or bush the safer i feel. I'm sure those twin 240's can handle it! I have the 170 on portable power for shooting and on a nice night you can see it hit the clouds.
well for the near area / clos range i have 2 Hella HID 90mm modules (search for 1K0 008 192-007). Unfortunately the cam wasn't capable to manage all the bright light... In real it's much more intense... Regards from Germany
Yeah, the quality of these lights is WAY BETTER then Hella. I can say/write that because i already had the Luminator/Ralley 4000 HID's before and kicked them to mount the BEST ;-). Lightforce has several filters (spot, wide, combo, dispersion) for your pesonal demands...
you must be doing a good job rabitting cos there aren't many and the one there shit himself when he saw the light . as an auto electrician , i would tell you to watch the alternator overloading with all those bulbs ect , better to put 2 baterries or one big one on to act as a capacitor ,.
Just look my comment a year ago ;-) I've got two Hawker Odyssey (a 545 for the ATV and a 925 for the electrical components) connected via a "TrennMOSFET" (look for microcharge "dot" de). The power consumption of my HID is "only" ~180 - 200 Watt (incl. power loss) and my alternator makes ~300 Watt ;-) Regards from Germany! PS: I don't shoot rabbits, it was a coincidence ;-)
Yes i do know you dude ;-) I've already watched your vid's... Here's my answer: This is my next plan to convert them to 50w HID (Philips DL 50). This are REAL 50w and no max.42w from the chinese market... They produce REAL 5300 lumen. Just google for "mpxldl50.jpg"
Ok, thats fine, and understand where your coming from. As long as you can justify the extra $2000.00 plus for the bit more light than the Korean/Japanese/Chinese cheapies.
One $150.00 cheap chinese 50w bulb and blitz in one 240 Blitz piddled all over the real 35 watt $2500.00 Lightforce HID XGT's. Just wondering why bother spending the big dollars?
No i will spend ~ 240€ (=~390 AU$) for ONE pair real 50W HID's AND ballasts ;-) The XGT's are converted to HID as i already mentioned. Look at my channel there i posted where i'm coming from... Regards to "down under"!!!
Oh ok, I thought real 'Philips' kits started at $1200.00 and went up. My mistake.
Anything under < $500 sounds like a dodgy chinese/korean/taiwan 'philips' copy, thats all. If you can get them for that price, then it sounds like a fantastic deal.
BTW, what bulb type do you run in the XGT's to replace the bi-pin...? Am just curious.
Dang it, just tried to comment and I dont think it posted correctly.
Thanks !!heaps!! for the wrap on your other video. I missed the bit about the DL50. Went looking, now understand what your talking about. Does the DL/D2S bulb fit straight in? (Having never pulled apart a real LF 240HID I do not know and it iskinda bugging me that I do not know this bit of info). Am assuming that the XGT is designed for a D2S/D2R bulb base to fit straight in? Or do LF already make an adapter?
Yes i have two Hawker Odyssey drycell (545 & 680) batteries. And i use a so called "Trenn MOSFET" to load them both (just google for microcharge"dot"de). The total wattage of the Lightforce 240 XGT is only 140 Watt so i don't have any probs with my electric system! My ATV is a Grizzly 660 Special Edition...
nice clip..how many watts are your lights?..i am looking at a conversion kit that is 35 watts and 6000k..yours look like they might be double that..lol

Of course: it's not responsible to let go uncastrated cats. We do have the same probs here in Germany.
You just need to look on the roads the see what is killed by cars...
But anyway: we are drifting away!
My vid should be a sample of the enormous light output the lightforce XGT is capable.
It was pure coincidence that i met the rabbit...
