Actually, NASA, NOAA, IPCC, EPA, AGU, are all well aware of global cooling. If you actually did any research you would be aware that global cooling was nothing of any significance. The anthropogenic signal in global warming isn't even being debated, only among a small number of scientists linked to oil companies, and pseudo petitions that were rejected by NAS and peer-reviewed journals.

Katrina is shorthand for the constellation of the natural weather phenomenon combined with man-made decisions which almost destroyed one of our most important cities. The simplest way to understand it is that it wasn't Katrina (which didn't hit N.O. headon) but the levees breaking and the flooding which caused the worst natural disaster in our nation.
