  • Can someone please tell me. I am planning on instaling deans on my m4 and I was woundering, do I need to drain the battery before trying to cut and expose the wires for soldering so I don't shock myself? Its a Ni-Mh battery.

  • @DeathShepardAirsoft it will not shock u as long as your hands aren't wet

and you can drain the battery if u want just do 1 wire at a time this video shows him exposing the wires at the same time if ur still worried just put som tape on 1 of the wires

    while u do the other

    good luck :)

  • thank you

  • good song...¡¡

  • I will forever associate soldering with this kick-ass song.

  • u guys know with the proper atf license you can own real automatic weapons

  • @justwired you cant shoot your friends though

  • I'm about to Solder my first lipo batteries. It's first time soldering so I did some practice and the thing I noticed when i try to tin my iron tip it doesn't stick like it did in your video it just jumps of the tip

  • @mudding96 It says that in the video.

  • U should cut and strip 1 wire at a time so u don't short your battery

  • @robblac That was my friend and I, thanks for the compliment.

  • whats with the stupid soldiers at the start ?

  • OR you could buy a connector

  • @X123XZAl3k The connector doesn't have wires on it bro. The connector is the Deans itself.

  • do you have to tin both sides of the wire or is that what you did by putting some iron on the tip before you put it on the bottom

  • Wats the song called

    And helpful video thanks !!!

  • Very useful thanks mate!

  • my iron won't tin like that it just repels it and just jumps off it

  • God knows how many times i forgot the heat shrink before soldering.

  • Probably the most badass song to ever be associated with a soldering video lol

  • very nice work hauss

  • if you forget the heat shrink...just dop some shoegoo aound the bare sections of wire...or get some liquid electrical tape. Either works excellent.

  • what battery are you using in the end?

  • @D3mOn4teR King Arms lipo, it's the one that came with a PEQ box.

  • @JEAirs0ft off ASGI?

  • @D3mOn4teR On Evike, but they discontinued it and replaced it with a Matrix version. Which basically is the same thing.

  • Wow really good video quality what camera are you using? also thanks for the video!

  • great video, a few questions, if we do not have a good 3rd hand device, what is a good alternative? I saw these deans on evike (they look to be silver and black instead of copper and red) and I was wondering if they're any good, also, what dean goes to what? Male goes to battery right? or does female?

  • @Meboyboyboy Wire the same as your tamiya connector. Just make sure you have negative going to negative and positive going to positive. I've had a few people make the mistake of doing one connector one way and another the opposite. Its not very good as you can guess.

  • @MrSleepyPuppy Thanks, but I already soldered mine! It really made an improvement over the default tamiya connector! :p

  • @PTSAirsoft Radioshack, ebay, Home Depot... charge the battery by plugging it into the charger. So solder on Deans to the battery, charger and gun.

  • excellent howto video!!! I wish I would have watched this before I did mine!! mine don't even come close to looking that good!! nice job

  • How many watts is your soldering iron?

  • @Ovan527G 40 watt

  • thanks to you have just soldered my first deans! works mint, very good video. Keep up the good work! :)

  • Thanks for the vid, I fucked it up on my own (wouldn't hold together) and as a result the high resistance caused my trigger contacts to break. Won't be making that mistake again.

  • Question: you mean tint your iron as in melt some solder in the tip?

  • @0611930024838 Yup, tinning the iron is just melting the solder onto the tip.

  • where do you recommened buying deans plugs at?

  • @SgtWoodyAirsoft Online or at a hobby/RC store.

  • @JEAirs0ft im looking for ones on ebay. what should i go with. please post a link for me. thanks.

  • Very good tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to do it.

  • I am ashamed to admit that I am one of the many who forgot the shrink wrap..... >: I

  • Good tips, I need to improve my G36c a bit. Add tighbore, hopup nub, and deans so thx for this video.

  • Im going to be putting Deans on my batterys and this video helped a lot i didnt understand the instructions and now i do. Thank you

  • @SneakyGrape37 You welcome :)

  • imo, this is THE best deans ultra soldering vid on youtube.

I can't believe how many tutorials there are on youtube where the freakin wires don't even get tinned!

  • Very good video and clear instructions. Thanks, very helpful.

  • hi nice tutorial im going to change all my plugs to dean :). just one question what the songs name?

  • @rune7tom77 Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi

  • nice vid! its even for airsoft! soooo....was that a vfc gun you had there? i t looked like it from what i saw

  • @r2323r23 Yes it is a VFC gun.

  • Hey I have a question. Is it possible to solder Deans onto a battery that has tamiya connectors? Or would that be bad?

  • @hobojoeisme You have to cut off the tamiya connectors, then solder the Deans onto the leads shown in the video.

  • @JEAirs0ft For a battery that had tamiya connectors too?

  • @hobojoeisme Yes.

  • @JEAirs0ft Ok, thanks.

  • @hobojoeisme But if you do cut the connectors, cut ONE at a time and don't let the exposed wires touch each other or else you might short out the battery which renders it useless.

  • @hobojoeisme yea but you have to cut the tamiya connectors off

  • @conan1me no shit sherlock

  • nice video, really helped me :D thanks!

  • Great video.

Could you tell me who is performing on the soundtrack?

    Thanks.

  • @thirdlanark11 Mr. Rager by Kid Kudi

  • Wow what a great video. How many watts is that soldering iron your using?

  • Where can I find deans, I can't find any at Lowes or Home Depot, Ace Hardware, maybe like Hobbytown or something?

  • @imthatleader Hobbytown or Hobby or RC stores will definitely sell Deans connectors.

  • When you hold the deans, you should grip onto the plastic because it would prevent scratching the gold plating

  • Love your stuff man keep it up.

    -Mike from the facebook group.

  • @SatchmoPwns Thank you for the support man, really appreciated!

  • a tip when soldering deans, is to connect the 2 connectors (male/female) while soldering them. this keeps the pins(or bars) from becoming mis aligned while you heat them.

  • @downhillbkr247 Thats why i said don't leave the iron on too long to prevent warping of the plastic.

  • @JEAirs0ft Yes, but connecting the two connectors is an extra step you can take to prevent the connectors from becoming misaligned.

  • @downhillbkr247 Agreed
