Anti-Lag fucks normal turbos, Cossies that run Anti-Lag use an after market turbine shaft and wheel made from marham to cope with the extra generated by anti lag. A marham shafted turbo will run anti lag all day every day and won't bat an eye lid.

The evo ix fq400 has ANTI-LAG LAUNCH CONTROL, witch is something way diferent than the normal ALS(witch is on al the time, wen you rev the car an iven wen you don't, the turbo boost stays higher than 0 and dose not drop below) The evo fq400 haves ALS WITH LAUNCH CONTROL, in stead of the rev limiter wat you normaly have on 1st gear at 5k rpm you have this launch control that limit's the engine revs on 1st but in the same time it's making like 8-12 psi while reving. So do your homework nextime.
i don't have the fq400 i have the standart 2.0T 295bhp...so anti-lag fucked up my turbo so you can sure say that your engine is fucked up too...the trottle valve remains open...even if you don;t have your foot on the acceleration you still have 2000 rpm and 1 bar of boost...if you don't have a good fuel mixture the temperature in the turbine will be very high and finally it will crash
@diogogaspar Anti-lag causes excess wear to the turbo and can make them fail quicker due to the excessive heat in the turbo and the fact combustion is taking place in the turbos turbine side which can damage the tubine blades. Anti-lag doesn't break engines as such, but can cause premature turbo failure.
If you use the anti-lag constantly on a road going car, It will permit faster wear, and possible turbo failure. This isn't my opinion, this is fact.

Too true. Everyone on here is talking about bloody done up corsas with aftermarket turbos.... this is a cosworth YB pinto block, it aint no normal car engine. It's made for high power output, and the turbo and compressor the same. EVERYthing on it is strong, and i bet if it's set up right, WITH antilag and driven properly it'd last a VERY long time.
its delays the ignition so it actually detonates in the extracting pipe thus giving you more turbo boost. Otherwise you cant get much boost with just plain reving on a manual car. A Automatic car can post-brake themselves making the engine work thus giving you turbo boost, on a manual car you cant do this so therefore Anti-Lag :)
I cant hear the video (Sound Card) but can tell you that ALS> Retards the ignition timming by 32 degree then allowing enough air to bypass the throttle butterfly via an Electronic solenoid valve. This produces plus atmospheric pressure which is measured by the map sensor allowing more fuel via the injectors. The size of the air bypass will allow more boost pressure as will other modifications. If you require help or info see my site. Regards

Then as youre holding the gas down you launch it and instead of the turo having to build its boost, the power is already there and its takes off. Sounds more like a rev limiter maybe.
no thats called a 2-step. 2-steps build boost at a standstill. anti-lag keeps the turbo spooled up all the time even at a standstill. that's a WRC spec Cosworth so it has antilag.
