o gosh.. im doing this piece for a solo and thought i had it all good and all.. till i come and see sergio play and realize i still have ALOT of work to do! SERGIO IS AMAZING!
@pianofolle No, it doesn't sound like it was speeded up. I bet he can play that faster like a lot of other clarinetists, but what he did was about the right speed.
this guy is amazing!! how does he have the whole thing memorized!!! i am playing this piece for my college music major audition, it is a diffucult piece of music for an 18 year old!!!
puf...eso en mi tierra se llama estrozar el concierto!vaya sonido!!por no decir su patético estilo!anda q ya le vale al oboe!!!por favor clarinetistas...no toqueis como este tio!!!
stupid audience!!!! that proves they dont know much about the piece they listen too. besides its obvous that its not finished: the conducter doesnt put down his hands!!!nor did the orchestra put down their instruments!
hahaha i did this yesterday, people clapped at the fermata too! the soloist wasnt as good where i was though... i love this little dude hes like a little imp dancing around.
Wow he's good. People shouldn't say how it should be played because everyone has their own style and of course people want to hear it how they are used to hearing how it's been played by someone else... If that made sence lol. Loved it
Love the part when the audience started clapping at the fermata in measure 124 (for those who have the music to it haha)
I think he could put a bit more...playfulness (for want of a better word) into the music, particularly around 4:06 ....and it all seems to be as fast as he can possibly play it! Although at least he can play all the notes, which is more than I can do..
...bit of a problem actually as I'm supposed to be performing it on wed and again on sat.
This performer is a confident player, I like that he memorizes his pieces. His tone needs some work, not your typical Italian tone. It lacks warmth and center. His articulation could be better as well. Overall however, a good performer.
this is a very very good performance of the concerto. he plays very precisely just in time. The sound is great in all registers. This is a very professional record.
If you dont loke the movemet, dont look at it. You are not forced to look at your screen while listening to music. This is Opera! I think sometimes its very helpful to see how people move while playing. Some parts are ment ironic or funny, by the composer... or at least by the performer... you can easily see that in this record.
now, now, jobgobsob, my pedigree on this instrument is 41 years long, and I have played this concerto with orchestra and accompanist, and I find Bossi's performance refreshing and even a bit humorous at times. Surprisingly, this concerto seems to lend itself to some of his unique performance antics. I quite like it. I think you might too if you take a breath and give it some room to breath.
His tempo is quite nice. I believe he pushes properly and does not rush.
He rushes a little. I am working on this song right now. The whole this when played with and ensemble is about 20 minutes. Very difficult. This guy is annoying dancing like a maniac.
Commenti negativi penso siano solo espressione d'invidia.........
I just played this movement at a recital, and I couldn't have played it that well standing still, let alone flailing around. Gah. It's frusturating how he can be good AND annoying at the same time.
That was hilarious! He plays pretty well, though he sure ducks a lot of the tonguing, plus some notes towards the end. But the dancing just kills me. He even dances when he's not playing! And I'm not sure what to make of the limp wristed thing he's doing with his left hand whenever he's not playing.
A little odd. I play clarinet in addition to the cello and I know that it is very natural to move when you play. I don't judge a musician by how the video appears but by how it sounds.
he does play the movement very well, I agree the movement is a little off putting. where I study we had a guest come in and play the RimskyK clarinet concerto and she moved about this much. i sat first chair and she was right next to me, it was hilarious!
Hehe dancing around. He doesn't move a lot. At least this is much more fun to watch than players frozen in place. He does it very well. It's strange that clarinetist can't move a little unless everybody here on youtube complain.

I personally like Sabine Meyer's recording of all the Weber pieces. Her tone and interpretation matches well with all of the pieces.

I agree.....What an irritating guy! I can't stand performers flailing and dancing all over the stage.
I am a professional musician and it does NOTHING to add to the music. To me, it's EXTREMELY distracting from the music.
